IMO a little more training in the store front on volunteering VERBAL communication with customers could help the experience be better. Out of the 4 times in this shop, I was ignored 3 times. On the appointment day for grooming a nice young lady did go out of her way to open the door for Cooper and I (it was raining).

When I went to pick him up, I was impressed by how clean the place was, considering how my cats and finches were present. My cat's room was very clean, with a big window, the jungle gym setup, and a loft bed. The kitty litter had added fiber pellets, which I hope he liked since he hates sawdust litter. They gave me back everything that I left at dropoff, plus a toy. My cat was very calm, coming by his own free-will to greet the handler. To me, these were all green flags and I will highly recommend Whiskers to anyone needing a safe place for their kittens and cats to stay for a short (or long) spell. They know cats better!

This was not your average sit and watch while someone drones and shows you animals you can't touch show. The kids got to hold various lizards and snakes and learned an incredible amount of information that supplemented the learning they'd been doing all semester all while Michael dealt extremely well with my rowdy group and their inability to keep from talking in their excitement. He was incredibly patient with the kids who were scared of the animals and by the end almost all of them were as engaged as those who had been eager from the start. I would absolutely recommend Austin Reptile Show to anyone looking for a hands-on, live demonstration with some really neat animals. The service was top notch, and the kids were amazed and engaged. The alignment with the TEKS was an added bonus! Protip: If you can spare the money, add the extra 15 minutes to the end of your show. Each second is worth it!

Now why not five stars? Well, my only gripe - and it's no big deal - is that it's hard to figure out what things cost. Some things - well less than half by the way - have prices you can see. The rest, especially one-off outdoor items from coolers to cookers to statuary - have "item" numbers. I guess that lets staff look prices up but how many trips do I make inside to ask 'how much is item ....?'
