It's a shame that I forgot to take pictures, this place is absolutely worth it 1000%. Me and my…read morefriends traveled 1.5 hours to get here. Starting off they have multiple display community tanks with fish ranging from bettas, to glass catfish, to inverts. When you walk in on the left there are empty displays to show you what you can do it's smaller tanks; still on the left till the back of the store there are multiple tanks filled with everything you can imagine (all of which you can buy from). In the middle there's hardscaping (hard wood and rocks of varying sizes). There's also a handful of types of floaters in portion sizes. In the middle I also saw Indian almond leaves for 1$ a piece. Which is crazy. I found a large tank filled with snails nertiles and mystery of all shapes and sizes (of which I bought 3 mysteries 4$ a piece). On the back wall it's almost wall to wall of shrimp of all shapes and sizes. In the back middle is the area that you're gonna find all kinds of food (including hikari and bug bites), hides, pumps, and nano tanks. On the right in the back there's a wall of male bettas each in a 5 gal tank with plants in each. They all have the prices clearly displayed, and even have some interesting varieties (a few red galaxy bettas and even shorter variety fins). In this area you can also find betta specific gear such as hammocks and betta food. Throughout the store you will even find tanks filled with plants some aquatic some high humidity terrarium plants. Everything is reasonably priced the only thing I'll say is to at least bring 100$ because the variety of everything makes it hard to hold back and not buy everything in the store. What I bought: Guppy grass-10$ Cuttlefish bone-3$ Hikari Daphnia- 9$ Betta fish (yellow and white with a blue spot, named Ikeanator, IKEA for short)-25$ 3x mystery snails (Larry, Garry, and Annette)-4$ a piece 4x black kuhli loaches-5$ a piece ----------- I plan on going back when my new upcoming tank is done cycling. Here's Ikea

So, this place has really high reviews and it absolutely deserves them…read more The selection is stunning. The care they provide for the fish, plants, and the overall organization and layout of the store is glorious. It is the kind of store you could find yourself popping into just to kill a little time, because it's lovely and the vibes are so nice. If you're an aquarist that dies a little inside everytime you see a betta being kept in someone's decorative antique thimble? Rest assured that their bettas are not kept in cups, but in lovely little temporary tank homes, that are all clean and well maintained. I didn't see a single betta that didn't pass the "curious, clear eyed, symmetrical, glide and dart" test. I also heard them teaching a couple about nitrogen cycling, tanks size, and letting them know that they really wouldn't advise buying their betta today. Though if you have the cash to burn they do have pre-cycled tanks ready for purchase. I've been here twice now. Once to get all the gear for my tank and fishless cycle, and then back about a month later to pick up my first betta, Mr. Pants. I'll be going back this weekend for a nerite snail, and the weekend after that for a couple of skrimps provided our betta accepts the snail w/o a fuss. So with all this glowing review, why only four stars and not five? Well, the service could me a smidge better. The lad that helped us on our first visit seemed like he really knew what he was doing, but was super awkward and really hard to talk to. We made it pretty clear that we were totally new to aquarium keeping, had nothing, and needed a full setup, but he left out several things we ended up finding out we needed. The most important of which was a water testing kit, which seems like the first thing that might come to mind if someone is buying all the stuff to do a fishless cycle? The guy that helped us out on our second visit was friendlier and easier to talk to, but did kind of seem like he was in a rush and helping us was a bit of a hassle, even though it was a Tuesday afternoon and there were like four people in the shop. I would normally grant space for a busy, popular store being perhaps understaffed, or overworked, but both times we went there were at least four employees on the floor, it was just that only one of them seemed to actually be there to assist customers. Anyway, none of that is enough to keep me from going back, obviously, but just know that you need to do your own research about what you need before going in, and be willing to overlook some less than stellar service. A small price to pay for access to their incredible and well kept stock.

If you're a seasoned hobbyist with a 120 gallon or a newbie looking to get into the hobby this store is for everyone. The store has a great selection and fair pricing as well as helpful staff. What sets this store apart is their commitment to the Austin Reefing community, they hold community events with free refreshments and raffles to bring together other likeminded hobbyists. I have never had issues with livestock I've purchased from them. With much of the hobby going online it's important to support local fish stores that keep the hobby local!

Most of my coral were a little haggered because of their good packaging but it was below freezing temps at night so the most expensive coral a very nice mushroom was destroyed. only the foot and a small piece of the head was left and the container looked like it had small pieces of cotton floating around in it. To their credit they not only replaced the coral but sent me pictures of corals in their shop that were not online and gave me the pick of the litter as the replacement. I was home when the package arrived and took pictures and put a thermometer in the box and send the pictures to them to show them what happened. Would do business with them again in a heart beat.

I was scared to start one tank, now I have nine lol. They have beautiful display tanks to inspire you in directions you may not have thought of. My first tank was inspired by one right by the register, and that's where it all began! The staff is always there to help and know what they are talking about. Everyone her is great, but I must highlight one in particular...ADAM! He is amazing and a huge asset to the company. He gives advice, knows his stuff and shares antics with you to help ease you into growing in this hobby. His knowledge of plants, fish, aquascaping, products and equipment is amazing. I want to personally thank him for how he has helped me grow from one tank to nine now including plants inside and half in/half out! Keep up the good work guys! I literally had to stop myself and express some control. I was shopping for colorful guppies and found just that.
