We've passed by this store many times but finally went inside. They have so many things that you could think of for all your earning hunting and hardware needs. It's two stories and has a ton of things outside as well. Employee was friendly, prices were fair and parking was easy. read more

Just go. You need it, they have it and you don't have to travel to Georgetown, RR or - gasp! - Austin. This is the place to go if you're anywhere from Betram to Florence to Leander; they have a ton of hardware, supplies, mulch, soil & fertilizer, as well as limited barbecue grills, a few (large!) water fountains and outside statuary& chairs and some fun stuff too. What a big place. The staff is first rate; you will not get past the first one with out a "howdy" and there's no pressure. Plan a little time to look at everything because you're going to need it. Now why not five stars? Well, my only gripe - and it's no big deal - is that it's hard to figure out what things cost. Some things - well less than half by the way - have prices you can see. The rest, especially one-off outdoor items from coolers to cookers to statuary - have "item" numbers. I guess that lets staff look prices up but how many trips do I make inside to ask 'how much is item ....?' Maybe there's a price list or something I missed but this is the only negative I've found so far. So; just go. read more

I recently went to this store for the first time, seeking some specific screws. I was greeted at the front counter and directed to a back wall. Finding that the screws, nuts and bolts were poorly labeled and haphazardly arranged, I went back to the front and asked for assistance. The clerk who came back did not know the difference between machine screws and wood screws. This was a real disappointment for a hardware store. I am unlikely to return. read more

No longer Winkleys! NOW MGH Hardware! I DO NOT recommend! Poor customer service, they don't load the right bags in your truck, I didn't catch that and went home! They gave me a bag I can't even use!! It's over an hour there and back for me, they won't credit or refund unless they have the bag back... which will be expired before I even go through liberty hill again, which will be weeks. Poor poor poor customer service and clearly staff that doesn't even know which is the right feed that was sold. Additionally, my coastal hay is black on one end, not great for horse hay. read more

It's really true, this store in Liberty Hill, Tx has everything thing that you could need. It's a hardware store and a feed store store and a little bit of whatever else you could use. My father and I tried to get some goods at the chain store across the highway. Well, the big store didn't have what we needed but Winkley's did. I get it now, Trust Winkley's. Happy happy. read more

do not buy your feed here. he obviously don't rotate it. I had my husband buy a bag of h &h purple layer feed on Friday afternoon on his way home. I came home on tuesday and opened the bag to find mold on top. when my husband tried to return it they wouldnt take it bag. I personally know they get a delivery once a week and food is guaranteed not to be more than 10 days old at that time. the manufacture date on the bag shows it was almost a month old when I got it. I will never buy feed here again and I advise you don't either. my husband would argue with him but all he said was our feed is keep in building and couldn't have gotten wet here. well outs is keep in a waterproof container and all of my other feed, from a different supplier, was good and not moldy. read more

Winkley's seriously does have everything you could ever need. It's a local general hardware/feed store. They have the best prices in town on chicken feed, which I end up buying quite often. Their minnow prices are pretty great too, especially if you need a snack for your ducks! They have a great selection of just about everything you need, boots, fishing, screws, nails, plumbing, gifts, chicken, you name it! I hope to continue to support them as a business read more

They were a great store but somehow things are going down hill now, you can't even tell what the lady is saying on the telephone when you call, such a thick Mexican accent. She can't even say winkley's right it sounds like ween clays . There was some guy named Chad but now he's gone and it seems like the ladies working there mostly don't know much about mechanical stuff, which is why people go to a hardware store. The lady mostly at the front desk doesn't really seem to like men much, she never smiles unless they are speaking Spanish. Most of the other ladies are real nice but they just don't know all that much about mechanical stuff so I wonder why they're working at a hardware store. There is one guy named Chris who knows everything but he's hardly ever there anymore. You can go down the road to Bertram and they have a bunch of men working there. But that store is smaller so doesn't have quite as much. And you can also go further down the road to Burnet. Hoover's is real good, plenty of good advice there, The men are experienced. read more

Don't be deceived by the relatively small size of Winkley's main area -- they have everything the big box stores have and more. And if they don't have it on hand, they are happy to get it for you. I've had nothing but good experiences at Winkley's, where I've bought everything from gardening supplies, chicken feed, cooking tools, pet supplies, pool supply items, plumbing fixtures, rain barrels and much much more. They also have a lot of great decorative items that enhance the beauty of your home. I went into the store and looked around for a small platform ladder which they did not have. Upon leaving the theft detector at the door beeped. After emptying my pockets which contained only my keys and my wallet, I stepped into the scanner again and it didn't alert. I was then asked to let the clerk place my wallet on a pad he had that was supposed to "deactivate" it. After doing this, I was aloud to leave. The only thing I'm my wallet was my cards. I now believe I was scammed. I will never set foot in this place again. read more

I used to be an avid supporter of that "other store" across the highway, until absolutely horrible customer service, there, drove me to visiting Winkley's after being absent for a number of years. A LOT has changed, and all of it for the better. (Yeah, pretty-much everything is tagged with RFID devices, but that's also just the world we live in these days. And, since I'm not a thief, I don't mind it.) Their inventory, though, is awesome ... I once heard an old timer tell me, "If you can't find it at Winkley's, it don't exist." And, I've found that to be spot-on accurate. The people, here, at Winkley's, too, all genuinely appreciate your business ... And, they're quick to tell you this. :) They're helpful. They're upbeat. They have good stuff inside and it's great that they have Sunday hours when your in a pinch . However we will no longer use them for our hay needs. Bought a round bale that the guys assured me would be great for my goats- only to get home and open it up to find a bunch of mold. Called and got no I'm sorry just "well you need to inspect them before you take them". So $80 for fuel for the burn pile was all we got. Now I have to spend the diesel and time to go find another that won't kill my animals. read more
