Lovely, cozy little restaurant with some of the most fresh and tasty traditional Dutch food we had while in Amsterdam. The restaurant is small with dim lighting, perfect for an intimate dinner with a friend or loved one. They also have several board games and books to use while there, we played Connect Four over beers while waiting for our food to arrive. The portions are very large, we had the tomato soup and the starter portion of ravioli filled with mash pot served with Dutch beef stew. Both dishes were great and so flavorful. The tomato soup was thick and definitely not your average bowl of tomato soup. We were pretty full after these 2 dishes so we didn't even get a chance to try some of the delicious sounding main plates. We ended our meal with the crepe with blood orange ice cream which was the only dish that we weren't really crazy about, cold ice cream that just tasted like orange sherbet, nothing very special here. Our server was very friendly, it was our first night in Amsterdam and he gave us a few tips about the city and just chatted with us for a bit before we headed out for the night. Great experience at Tomaz, would definitely recommend to others!

If I get only one meal in Amsterdam, it must be from Tomaz. This trip I had a single night. Found Tomaz's place and enjoyed the Stamppot. On this occasion it was Pork chop and Spinach Mash Potatoes. Accompanied the meal with Leffe beer. Will be back if I get the chance.

We ate here on our first night in Amsterdam based on the Yelp reviews. The food here was really delicious and the restaurant/pub has it's own lovely charm. There is an outdoor area to sit and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather for sitting outside. The service was good most of the time we were there, however dropped off as they got busy.

Everything we had was fantastic. The owner and host was working hard, but came by our table to chat with us. He has a collection of various paper money taped to the wall... My colleague just happened to have 15 EC handy (about $4-5 US)... He donated it and the owner donated pint of beer! Collectively we had the barely dish, traditional Dutch beef stew and an asparagus and ham dish. Everyone was very happy. For dessert we had waffles with intense citrus ice cream and a three chocolate combo - wowza! The ratings are well deserved.

Another hole in the wall in Amsterdam serving delicious filling meat dishes. The place is cozy with a few tables indoors and out. Service was friendly. I'd go for the meatball! Did not even have room for dessert after main coarse. This was groupon 3-course dinner. We skipped the desserts since we were too full.

Came here on a Friday night. Outside looked packed, but inside super roomy. Cozy, laid back vibe inside with chill music. Stampot was excellent, reasonable portion and delicious.

We went on a weekend when they exclusively serve their famous apple pie, and while the lines can get pretty long, ours actually moved very quickly. The setup is a bit of a hustle: you order at the counter, pay, and then have to hunt for a table (they have seating indoors and outdoors) while balancing your food. Finding an open spot can definitely be a challenge, but we got incredibly lucky and snagged a seat at a communal table right as our plates were handed to us. Logistics aside, the pie is entirely worth it. It's honestly one of the best I've ever had. The crust is beautifully buttery and crumbly, and the warm apples have the absolute perfect texture--a brilliant balance of sweet and tart. It's not overly sweet on its own, but with a generous mountain of whipped cream and a hot coffee, it made for a wonderfully rich afternoon snack. I know a lot of people rave about their chocolate milk too, but the coffee pairing was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend braving the line for this!

I was thinking of picking up a few breakfast treats and came across this bakery on my way back to…read moremy hotel. The pastries caught my eye in the glass case. There were cannolis, cream puffs, cookies, donuts, cakes, macarons and there were also sandwiches and pizza type breads. We bought a cream puff with Bavian cream, a chocolate covered cream puff with the standard cream filing and a chocolate covered croissant. Everyone was happy with their purchases and I was especially happy with my cream puff with the Bavian cream. The surrounding cake was light and airy and the cream was delicious; not quite whipped cream (like American version) but like a combination of whipped cream and vanilla custard. The filling was very light and the entire pastry did not leave any heavy feeling at all. The 2 chocolate pastries were consumed without complaints. The chocolate croissant I noticed, was completely dipped in chocolate rather than a croissant that has chocolate inside. This bakery lives up to its c'est magnifique name!

My favorite place in Amsterdam missing from Yelp? I had to add you Croissanterie C'est Magnifique…read more And you are simply that: MAGNIFICENT. You have set the bar for every patisserie and croissanterie I visit from now on. MY GOODNESS. I don't even know where to start. I visited you more times than I care to admit. And each time, your fruit tartes, custard croissants, crumble cakes, and cappuccinos made me dread the day I was to leave Amsterdam. For I knew no other place would ever compare. This small, unassuming place is located smack in the middle of the bustling Leidsestraat shopping district. The glass counter houses a plethora of sweet goodness (see my pics). The same girl was there each day making coffee and running back and forth from the kitchen in the back. Pastries are made fresh multiple times a day so everything is always fresh. Once you grab your order, there is a long table with stools that runs along the right wall. The smell of ground coffee beans and fresh baked bread filled the air, and spilled onto the street making it impossible to pass by without stopping in. They are open until at least 10pm but I'm not sure of their exact hours. And they open early too. Sweet, sweet danger. I am saddened that you are so far away from me. *insert sad face here*
