I wanted an SUV because it's easier to deal with the winter weather and also needed the trunk space for both shopping trips and whenever I needed to put in my families bags for vacations. I came to Tom Ahl because a couple of friends recommended that I go here. The car shopping experience was unexceptional. I just didn't feel like the salesman was that interested in selling me a vehicle or making a deal. I wanted a new car and was shown a several year old buick. The price was rather high for that. I just wasn't feeling it and went to another dealership nearby and bought a new suv. I got to say I was a bit disappointed.

The inside smelled moldy and the red paint was very chalky. The seats were filthy because she had piled the seats full of junk that needed to be taken to the dump. I took it to Tom Ahl's for detailing after reading reviews. I wasn't really expecting that they would be able to do much for it since it was in such bad shape, inside and out. When I picked the truck up I was totally amazed. I only wish that I had taken "before" so everyone could see what an incredible job they did with this truck that I had nearly written off as hopeless.

This afternoon I went in to test drive some trucks my salesman was busy with two other customers. Ironically, no other salespeople were with other customers. Upon returning from a test drive, I sat and waited for my salesman to become available. Not once did any of the other salespeople come and ask if they could help me. They could have easily helped in showing me other vehicles. After waiting for 25 minutes, someone brought out 3 or 4 pies. The salespeople and others from the offices came dashing to the location of the pies. At that point I left. My salesman called later to apologize. Maybe there is a reason the other salespeople had no customers and mine had 3. Absolutely inexcusable!

BAD REVIEW: This body shop was recommended to me by local shop. When I first contacted Joe…read morePatterson at Auglaize Auto Body in Wapakoneta I was very excited about getting our 1979 VW Super Beetle to him. He gave us a reasonable price to fix up our car. When we dropped off the car on April 8, 2018 his estimate to complete was 21 days. We paid $2752.50 which is 1/2 the cost for the deposit. I would call every so often to see how it was going on my car. Sometimes he would respond, but most times not. After some time went by I realized he was lying to me. I put in pictures to show the quality of work he does or does not do. I finally get the car back from him and I can not open the trunk and missing multiple parts. I also have a huge dent in the passenger door that was not there when I dropped it off to the shop. I would not take anything to this shop to be worked on. Did I mention Joe had this vehicle for almost two years. I got it back March 30, 2020. You would think working on someone's car for that long the quality of work would be impeccable. You can see for yourself that it is horrible.

From the very beginning, both Aliyssa and Gabe went above and beyond to make this process smooth and stress-free. Aliyssa was incredibly responsive, answered all of my questions, and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. She sent detailed walk-around videos of the vehicle and even took the time to send additional videos when I asked about specific features--something I really appreciated since I was initially handling everything remotely. At the same time, Gabe was just as incredible on the financing side. He was honest, knowledgeable, and took the time to clearly explain everything without any pressure. He made sure I understood all of my options, especially when it came to warranties, and I never once felt rushed or pushed into anything. That level of transparency made a huge difference. At one point, I was planning to have the vehicle shipped, so we completed almost everything online and over the phone--and it was completely seamless thanks to both of them working together. The best part of all--and something I will never forget--is when I decided last minute to drive four hours to pick up the vehicle myself. Not only were they accommodating, but they BOTH stayed past business hours and waited for me just so I could take my new car home that same day. That level of dedication and customer service is truly rare. Everyone I interacted with was extremely polite, friendly, and genuinely happy to help, but Aliyssa and Gabe especially made this an exceptional experience from start to finish. This was hands down one of the best car-buying experiences I've ever had. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a smooth, stress-free, and truly outstanding experience!
