Working with Tolly landscape was the best decision we made this year. We've referred over 5 friends and family to Christie Collins who headed up our front yard project. Christie has such a sense of pride about her work and she cares so much about the finished product. She was terrific at communicating progress and even added in extra elements to our finished product that we weren't expecting. From design to implementation, they do it all and made it easy to have all components of the project taken care of by one company. I included the before picture which shows the privacy gate and hedge and large amount of concrete they took out and the after photos of the finished product with custom fence and new concrete, new stone steps and column to match the existing stone, new low maintenance plants and grass. We couldn't be happier with the work she and her team did. Thank you for going above and beyond. Thank you to Tolly Landscape for taking care of my apartment complex after the remodel. I had a contractor recently demo part of and expand one of my apartment complexes. We had our backyard landscape designed by Armstrong Nursery and they recommended Tolley. In the 36 years that we had lived in our house, we had never had a professional landscaper do work for us, so we did not know what to expect. Having had our house remodeled once and our kitchen remodeled later, we were prepared for a stressful few weeks. I am happy to say that everything went much smoother than expected. Christie was very professional and prompt replying to texts and emails. She showed up on time for early morning meetings and took as much time as needed answering our questions and making helpful suggestions. She arranged for the large dump bin to be delivered a week early so we could finally really clean out or garage and the side yard wood pile. All the landscape work and patio brickwork was done on time and with very little disruption. My husband and I could not be happier with the results. I admit that we may be a little more easy going than some others, perhaps more tolerant of traffic delays and having to eat our breakfast a little later; not to mention fussing about worker's disruptive noise as "ghetto" living, but than again, we have had our house remodeled twice. read more

My wife helped her parents with the interviewing and selection of this company to do work on their home in Placentia, CA. The work included the complete removal of existing front hardscape and softscape, custom design of new landscape and then full installation of new driveway, flagstone walkways, drought-tolerant softscape, irrigation and outdoor lighting. In the words of my in-laws, "We were very satisfied with their workmanship and the quality of the end result. We couldn't be happier with Steve and his crew. They were polite, professional and even cleaned up every day before they left. We felt Steve was very trustworthy, easy to work with and had great ideas. We are so incredibly happy with the work they did and how great our home looks now. Very fair price for the outstanding results. This review is two years after work completed and after 2017's profuse precipitation. Tolly has done an excellent job of supporting the drip irrigation I had them install to both existing and new plants and trees. Within 48 hours of each of several calls for help I made, they sent one of their guys out to resolve the problems. Part of their original work was to correct a deteroriated drainage condition by replacing a water-thirsty lawn and a bunch of tree roots with decomposed granite and flag-stone after lowering the area's elevation by a full 8 inches and adding drains. The drainage works beautifully now. And, so, does the new irrigation system. read more

I've been meaning to write a review on Tolly for awhile now and am finally taking time to do it. We used Tolly a few years ago for stone pavers on our front walkway and Jeff Tolly was awesome. When we decided to redo the landscaping in our backyard I contacted Tolly and Christie has been our project manager. She came out and provided an initial design with the quote to give us an idea of the proposed layout and then she talked through the plants and trees that she would recommend for our space, knowing that we were looking for low maintenance plants. We did have a delay in starting the job due to staffing conflicts but once we rescheduled they started on time and the team that came out and did the work, led by Antonio, worked quickly and cleaned up well after their work. Everything came together well and the yard looks very nice. Christie and Antonio have continued to be responsive and helpful when we've contacted them post-project. They are professional and knowledgable and have been pleasant along the way. I would recommend them. read more

Armstrong Garden in Santa Monica referred me to this company to build a fence. We scheduled an appointment for 10am on a Saturday. They confirmed in advance. On the morning of the guy they sent confirmed via voicemail and texted when he was en route to say he would be here at 10am. At 10:15am I texted to find out where he was and he said he was stuck in traffic and would be here at 10:30. Ok, fine. As we had postponed breakfast to make sure we weren't rudely eating when he arrived we decided to eat while we waited. He then arrived earlier at 10:20. I asked him to please wait a moment while we finished eating and he left. I inhaled my breakfast and went out TWO minutes later and he was gone. I called him and he said he would come back. I told him to forget it. Don't use their fencing services. If this is how they behave when a customer wants to give them their money I can only imagine what happens if there's a problem. read more

I moved to Orange Co. and got the name of this company from my realtor. They are purely amazing !! I had them do landscaping: hot tub; take down trees etc... - and each time I used them this year, it got better. They came to the house and I said ' I want this done' and that night I'd have an email with the invoice and the day it would be done. They were stealth. When they said they'd do something, I would return home from work, and the work was done AND everything was spotlessly clean. All other companies promise promise promise and are never on time, never on budget, and always on my nerves - but not Tolly !! Truly the best company of any sort with which I've worked in Orange Co. They just completed a large rockscape project for us. The crew was professional and at the end of the day they left everything clean and in order. It was a 3 week project and the crew worked hard every day and the owner of The company checked in almost daily to make sure we were satisfied with how things were going. We made some changes as we went and it was seamless. They were a sub to my nursery to install landscaping, lights, and fountain. Although Jeff Tolly was professional and their workers did a good job, Brett Tolly is flippant and has no customer service. The fountain pump did not work and Brett could not - then would not fix. He sent his 90 yr old "uncle" to look at it two times - (one visit was 5 hours since he could not figure it out). Finally had nursery replace it. Then electrical went out to lights and pump and they sent uncle again. Now electrical box to fountain is out again and they won't fix. Told me to call electrician since Tolly will charge. Defective electrical and poor customer service. Expensive and not worth the headache. read more

He took no measurements, talked about houses he was building in Baja. It's been 3 weeks and we haven't received an estimate on our job yet. Had Armstrong nursery come out for a landscape design and they referred us to this company for the installation. What appeared to be a decent business turned into a week from hell. Without drawing this out into a huge negative story just save yourself some money and aggravation and stay completely away from them. They are overpriced and try to add things that armstrongs already charged then when you question it they say ok well what do you feel is a good price. After a week of drama I finally got the over priced bid down but I am still pulling weeds out of my newly landscaped garden. Not sure why I would have weeds if they actually did there job like stated in the contract and applied a weed proof layer and all the bags of dirt I purchased. Please people don't be fooled and shame on Armstrong for letting these people handle there installation. read more

Tolly Landscape is, hands down, the best landscape design company we have ever worked with. The owner, Jeff Tolly, and his team are professional, courteous, and communicate well. The workers showed up promptly every morning and cleaned up before leaving for the day. Jeff was on site every day to make sure we were 100% satisfied with the work being done. Jeff and his brother Brett designed a magazine-worthy beautiful front walkway. In addition they installed new sod, a new sprinkler system, repaired brickwork, and fixed a sagging arbor over our garage. If we could give Tolly Landscape more than 5 stars we would, they are that good. Thank-you, Jeff and Brett for exceeding our expectations. read more

Tolly is one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. Their prices and rapport might seem great at first, but after planting DEAD trees in the house I manage, they failed to return phone calls, exchange the product, or even admit to their inefficiency as a company. They should at least have the decency to call back! It's been months and months of phone calls, and I have given up at this point and wasted thousands of dollars. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. read more

Great experience working with Tolly, they re-landscaped our property, put in a drip system and worked with us to plant the right plants/tress for our area. Jeff was especially great too work with. We are now saving $250/month on our water bill. read more

Jeff and his team did a great job installing sod. They came on time, removed the old grass, did the proper preparation prior to laying down the sod. They also checked the outdoor lighting, to ensure that no wires were damaged during the prep. Very nice guys that strive to do a good job. Good cleanup too. read more
