The friend cauliflower was good. I'll probably try something different next time. The fish was served plain. If I get it again, I'll ask for cheese. I did add a little thousand island dressing and tarter sauce for zing. Very delicious. My fiance ordered the Ruben. When I asked him how he liked it, he said "it's not bad but they are charging $12 for an $8 sandwich." I put $1 in the jute box to play "brown eyed girl." My fiance said it was too loud so I did not use the rest of my purchase. Hopefully the next person can pick a song. How can an establishment go from making one of the best pizza you've had to one not even close? Not busy and was very specific, well done, not a lot of cheese, some sauce. Soft ,greasy ,cheesy barely cooked. And $4 for a 16 oz draft ? Not open Sundays and Mondays. Unfortunately you can't stay open with only a few employees that care. Well, they USED to have really good pizza....NOT ANYMORE!! If you want scant canned sauce and soggy, greasy crust under 4 pounds of cheese - come here! We have asked numerous times for a lite amount cheese thinking that the doofus in the back could put on a normal amount of cheese, but it still comes out just over the top with the cheese. This place has got to be having a huge food cost because of the dingbats making this pizza. What do they do if someone actually asks for extra cheese? Give them a bag of it on the side? Its entirely too much and because of that and trying to give them chance after chance, I will never go back!! I do want to say that the servers are very nice! This place was okay. Servers were quick and got us our beers and food fast. Pizza was just okay. The crust was bland, tomato sauce tasted like it was from a can. Ham and bacon toppings were generous. Came here on a Saturday night, dinner time, waited one hour and 45 minutes for our dinner to come, and it wasn't even busy, you should close the restaurant when your cooks walked out again, or at least let the customers know that it could be a two hour wait because there's only one cook! My greatest disappointment with the Toll House Tavern was the fact that they had no table prepared for us, no breasted chicken thawed out, which is the Thursday night special, and lack of help. My apple-tini was so sweet, no ice, warm and could hardly taste the vodka, I returned it for a Yuenling beer, which was fine. After taking our drink orders, approximately 20-30 minutes later the drama began. The waitress took my small pepperoni pizza order, and all other orders at the same time. I believe they were mostly chicken and maybe one hamburger. My pizza arrived within 10 minutes, which was fine; nothing exceptional, but good and hot. About 45 minutes later, several dinners arrived which seemed very fresh and delicious. 3 of the women did not receive their chicken dinners and were told they had to wait 20 more minutes. After 2 hours, the dinners finally arrived and did look very good, however, it took 2 hours to get. The parties did have salads beforehand which I forgot to mention. Although the manager did take the cost off the bill for the 3 ladies who had to wait, I feel that we were very mistreated as a group and all because they had NOT ENOUGH HELP! Walked in found a table right away. We could definitely see they were very busy which they usually are but the worst part was having a waitress actually acknowledge us. The customer service is rough. The waitresses have always been kind but the service seems to be extra slow. Almost every time we've visited this place it took quite a long time to get a menu and then to get the meal. We know there are staffing shortages all over and we are more than happy to be willing to allow extra time but.......when we arrived, there were 4 of us, there were four other tables that arrived after us, two tables of 4 and two tables of 2 and their orders were put in after ours. Everyone's food came out first and we had to ask when we would get our food. We were told ours was a larger order so it was taking longer! A salad, a lettuce wedge, a wrap and a hamburger with no bun and we waited an hour because ours was a larger order but yet there were four tables that received their food before us? it's usually first in, first out! Then when we were served our food we were told the lettuce wedge would be out in a few minutes. we were not given any silverware and my husband had to get up and get them for us. When the lettuce wedge was delivered almost 5 minutes after everyone else's, it wasn't a wedge, I was told they didn't have any wedges so it was a salad, with lettuce, lots of onions and bacon crumbles and mozzarella cheese on top. Every restaurant I've ever been to, if the kitchen is out of a menu item, the waitress has returned to the table and given me the opportunity to choose another menu item, not throw something together and serve it! We have always enjoyed the Toll House. The waitress seemed to be the only one working and most that happened was the fault of the kitchen but it was a very frustrating lunch with friends. read more

One of the best local wing pubs around. They accommodate you with a variety of sauce flavors from mild to and ultra spicy and seem to perfectly cook their wings each time, boneless or not. They've got a decent beer selection and their fish and chips sandwich is so scrumptious I order it for take out at least once a week. The downside- the service is awful, every time we're there we constantly sit waiting for our waitress to bring our drinks to our table or to get a refill at minimum 10+ minutes each time. She rarely came back to see how we are doing even after we finally rec'd our meals. I ordered the shrimp. It was disgusting almost as if it wasn't cooked/fried through. The server didn't ask to refill my hot tea until I had to tell her I'd like a refill. This was after I had to wave her down. She never returned to our table with our bill. They have an OK craft selection in bottles, usually a few on draft. The pizza and the wings are both good, not exceptional, but good. Service has always been quite quick for me, but I always sit at the bar. The atmosphere is comfortable, family friendly... yet bar crowd friendly at the same time. I've stopped here many times on my way home and I've never been unhappy about doing so. The service can be slower when it's really busy, but that's pretty much standard for any small town locally owned place that doesn't over-staff just in case it gets busy. I went there last night for dinner with family. We shared a pizza and an order of onion rings. I ordered a beer as well. The beer came to me warm and flat. I wanted to send it back, but the waitress never came to the table. Plus, that flat beer was the only way I had any chance of making it through the disgusting food. The onion rings were greasy and undercooked. The pizza did not have the toppings we ordered. It was a soggy mess that we waited 25 minutes to arrive. I could have ordered a better pizza delivered to my house in less time. The waitress took forever to bring the bill and took her sweet time to come back to get it. The place was not busy. There were more employees in the place than patrons. I have no idea what she was doing. She finally came back just as I was standing to pay at the bar, but not to collect the money and bring change, just to "see how we were doing". I had to ask her to bring change.
