Visiting from Texas, the chili wasn't what I was used to. It was acceptable, just different. The Coney dogs I received weren't really hot, and the grated cheese wasn't melted on them. Got in late last night, (I'm from Texas so I'm bias about food already) was trying to find something close to our hotel, so I sent my boyfriend to go get chili, I don't know if it was due tot hem fixing to close, but the chili tasted like cinnamon, and the texture of it was like powder. I've been to quite a few Skyline locations and they're all pretty good. Clean & nice service. I always go for the large 3-way with onions. The server was very nice and brought a sample of the habanero cheddar for me to try since I had asked about the level of spice. This was also the first time I've gotten takeout. Same large 3-way order. The onions and bags of cheese were packaged separately with hot sauce and oyster crackers. It was the perfect little meal kit for later. read more

Located directly in front of the interstate exit, it's darned hard to miss this Skyline. Decent parking, but I would not recommend it if you have a trailer as I learned the last time I was here. Service was friendly and excellent. The young lady who took care of me seemed genuinely interested in the keto diet, so that was nice. Chili like this is perfectly fine, just no spaghetti and no beans. So that's what I had and a very large bowl of it. It's an interesting flavor for chili that is not like chili that I have elsewhere. My boyfriend and I are from out of state. We passed by this restaurant around Sunday midday and decided to grab the food to go since I love chili. The server and cashier were both welcoming, and the restaurant atmosphere was very chill -- mostly older folks having a meal. We only ordered the Coney Bowl, and I'm so glad we did. The chili was way too salty. The hot dog was the least salty item in the dish. For $8.89, we received a portion only enough for a kid (3 4-inch hot dogs and a scoop or two of actual chili, mostly made up of cheese). On top of that, the cashier gave us the wrong amount of change ($10.11) which we only realized after leaving the restaurant. Disappointing, given what we had heard online about this chain and about Ohio's chili. :( read more

This is a convenient stop for I-70 travelers. Really cannot get any better timing - exit and BAM! you're in da house like Emeril on a pasta dish or a pork loin. But here the hot dogs and three-ways reign supreme. The only down side here, they're playing Fox News nonstop so you've got that blaring in the background. The allure of cheese coney dogs, hot sauce, oyster crackers, Cincinnati style chili, and the pasta noodles are overwhelming to the senses. So good! This is a very solid Skyline. It is not the best one that I have ever been to, but I have never been disappointed by the taste and quality of their coneys and spaghetti. This is for sure a go to spot for me in Englewood. It is quality and I hope stays that way. I usually use the drive through, but sometimes I go in. They always seem to have very good quality employees working there. Also, I personally am a weirdo and request no cheese on my food. This seems to be a very difficult request for many restaurants, this skyline very rarely messes up my order which is appreciated. You can't go wrong going here unless you are a skyline hater. Waitresses inside a fast food place? Wow Skyline! I usually go though the drive-thru only at other locations whenever I'm visiting family in Ohio. However, my usual location near my aunt's house was closed today for Memorial Day, and I was super bummed. However, on my drive back to Chicago, I noticed this location off the Englewood exit and decided to stop in, just to see if they might be open. It was meant to be because they were! For this reason alone I decided to write a review for Skyline Chili. I love the coneys no matter what location they're from, I just really love the food. But this location was open on a holiday and was really nice so here is my review. They have waitresses!!! Is it supposed to be like this? I dunno. But everyone was super nice and friendly. The restaurant was clean. You seat yourself but a nice lady will come and take your order and answer questions. There is also a counter if you just prefer to order your takeout inside. Then after you're done they even offer to give you a to-go cup for your drink. Best fast food service I've ever received. I love that Skyline's chili doesn't have beans. I like the size of the little hot dogs and buns. And I really love the cheese. All that fluffy goodness. And they now offer an Extreme Coney with habanero cheese! I also enjoy the Way (3, 4, 5-way) depending on my mood, but I have to get at least a couple of coneys every time!!! read more

My family has figured me out. Our vacations usually start with a trip from PA into Ohio just so I can get a fix at Skyline Chili. Three years at the law school meant lots of opportunities to go get Skyline. Particularly when one was within walking distance. Yes, I know, there are other chain that offer the Cincinnati chili experience. However, none of them are as good. We hit this one for an early dinner. The staff was friendly. The order was done fast and the food was just as expected. I tried the spicy cheese option and I really liked it. It actually did provide a little spice. However, it did detract from the traditional flavors. So, since I can't hit up a Skyline as frequently as I used to . . . I'll stick to the old fashioned version on future visits. Over the years, I've gone from a 5-way kind of gal to a 4-way (no beans, thanks) with extra cheese and tons of hot sauce on top. I think I'll stay that way forever. Heard more about server's home issues while chatting with another server who was diligently cleaning and trying to get away from my server. 4 Way Bean was disappointing. I'm so glad a local friend introduced me to Cincinnati style chili. He had talked about Skyline Chili for years but I just sort of was like "whatever." So on my first trip to Dayton, we went there. I tried the Coneys, the five ways, and just a good bowl of chili. I love the way Skyline does it! So much cheese on top of the coneys, so much good flavor, and best of all after 9pm the prices go down. Definitely would recommend for anyone passing through town for a good meal! read more

Let me start by saying I love Skyline Chili. I'm originally from Dayton Ohio, the secondary home at Skyline Chili. Skyline is the only time I break vegan. And that is only when I come home to Dayton. That said the food was pretty standard and what I'd expect from Skyline Chili. But I can only give three ( I would prefer two and a half) stars for my experience because I felt bad. The Redshirt person( manager?) working the drive-thru just seem to hate his job. I was entirely excited for my experience but now I just feel guilty because apparently I ruined his day for ordering. Very nice Skyline Chili shop. It's clean, bright and friendly; the manager is always visible and is meticulous. What you get is the standard Skyline Chili fare, dogs or spaghetti with their Greek-style clove-laced chili on top and mounds of fluffy cheese shreds. The spicy cheese option is a nice addition. There was a younger guy preparing food and apparently still learning. It was a bit disappointing watching him prepare food as he made a couple obvious mistakes, for instance pulling off the cheese from a spaghetti dish he had made and throwing it back in the bin when he realized he had made it with the wrong kind of cheese. The spaghetti was slightly overcooked but I kind of expected that. This is a great place to stop for lunch if you're driving by on I-70. It's next to a gas station with some of the lowest gas prices for 100 miles in either direction, and near an excellent Meijer store if you need some groceries or other provisions. read more

This is an Ohio tradition for us. We love getting the three way up to the five way. It is a chain, but it hasn't made it's way to Oklahoma, so it has some novelty to it, but I think we'd love it all the same were it closer to our home. I love Skyline Chili. My family and I regularly go to the Eaton store. The Server and the manager refused to change the chanel of the television which was covering sexually explicit news. The server had a general overall negative attitude. No WiFi Food: 3 Way: Water dripping from plate Kids meals with cheese on the side. The cheese amount was skimpy. About a quater size amount. I think I could have counter the shreds of cheese. Clean: Paper all over the bathroom floor. Management: Talked to manger on duty about concerns: refused to do anything about concerns noted. Corporate: I have talked with corporate office. They are going to talk with the manager on duty about my concerns. They state that the way things were handled was not appropriate. Given this, I may try this location again. read more

In the last year Skyline has changed the recipe for the Greek salad and it is not an improvement. the dressing tasted funny tonight. the cucumbers were not fresh, almost gummy. Coney bowl was okay but I feel like I was swindled. $10 for some chilli and an unfresh salad? I'll skip next time. read more

it had ben sooooo long since I had skyline and i got to introduce my boo to it for the first time, so i was kind of bubbly when i walked in, and instead of ignoring me, or deflecting my energy as some do, the staff smiled and welcomed me back and cheezed it right along with me and that made me feel welcomed. it was just as I remembered.
