We are from Columbus so this was our first time stopping in here. It's a really cool place with a really cool backstory. The decor is awesome. The bar has a firetruck behind it. The sauces are all good. The service was great. The sweet tea was on point. My husband and I always get the same thing when we go to bbq places. I always get brisket and he always gets smoked turkey. Both were really good. The sides are delicious. The green beans were salty and savory and mouth watering the garlic mashed potatoes with the brisket gravy were amazing. Tried 7 BBQ for the first time in Englewood, OH and it absolutely delivered. I had sliced brisket and turkey with a side of collard greens cooked in chicken stock, and every bite was excellent. Great smoke flavor, tender meat, and seasoning that stands on its own. They've also got a great lunch special if you're into sandwiches. I'm living the keto life, so I skipped the bun (didn't bring a keto bun), but the sandwiches coming out of the kitchen looked incredible. The dining room is beautiful with firehouse-style decor, plenty of space, and a variety of TVs that make it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I ended up asking Patrick, the son of the owner, a few questions about the menu, and you can genuinely feel the family-owned and operated vibe that makes a local place worth visiting. Sauce selection is wide--I didn't try them all because of keto, but they even have a sugar-free option if you ask. There's also a large bar with a huge selection (I stuck with water). We brought a large group to this restaurant, Company 7 BBQ and gave notice multiple times in advance so they could prepare and schedule adequate staff. We were told they were excited to host us, so we arrived expecting a positive experience. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. Food came out at completely different times. Some people in our group were served early, but their meals arrived cold. Others waited an excessive amount of time, with the last person not receiving their chicken wings until nearly 2 hours after ordering. At around the 1 hour and 10 minute mark, we asked to speak with the manager to better understand the delay. We were told they didn't know why service was taking so long. It was frustrating to see no urgency or effort from management to step in and help during such a clear service breakdown. We also encountered a rude food runner, which only added to the poor experience. We understand large groups can be challenging, which is exactly why we gave advance notice several times. Sadly, the restaurant did not seem prepared despite assuring us otherwise. We were hoping for a great group outing, but the lack of organization, poor communication, cold food, and extremely long waits made it a very disappointing experience. read more

This is so good, the food here is so good, if Asians eat here they could easily write that crazy Asian food porn. I had sliced brisket with two of the premium sides, it was fabulous. Practically legendary. It was so good. It's a casual environment. We came here for (trivia Night) and we can hear the guy asking the questions which is pretty darn good compared to the places we've normally been. This is such a distinctive fire house flavor. These guys respect firefighters and this place is kind of built around that. It's huge. You could fit a party of 60 in here if you had to. They have a really decent selection of beers including, shockingly enough, things that aren't just IPA. Personally I like stouts, these guys have a great selection. I'm an old-school rocker in the background music here just has me getting up and wanting to jump into a mosh pit. It's not loud, but it's my music. My sweetie says: The brisket is delicious. They have a selection of six barbecue sauces at each table. For her it was between chief and captain Carolina for which one she liked best. The fire house atmosphere is fun. The weight staff is relaxed and laid-back but attentive. The guys carry in the food are friendly. They're just a bro doing a job. This is my kind of date spot. I could definitely come back here. Pulled pork(it was ok) with sauce. 3. The sausage (It was ok) not the best I've had, but ok. The sauces were good. Made the food taste better. Very interesting history and memorabilia from Firehouse 7 and firefighters. For apps, we got the cheese sausage dip. It was overly thick with not much flavor. The chips were way too salty. We also got an order of onion straws. They were quite good. Be aware the dip with them had quite a kick. I liked the sauce. The pulled pork was mediocre. Not bad but I think it needs more smokey flavor. Mine seemed rather dry too. The sauces seem variations on one another with increasing vinegar or added mustard or pepper sauce. They also lacked depth of flavor. The smoked sausage has very little smokiness. I didnt particularly like the flavor of the sausage. It reminded me more of a breakfast sausage flavor than a smoked sausage. The corn bread is quite good. More like a yellow cake in flavor. read more

So my wife and I made the 40 min drive to try this place out. We showed up around 5pm and it wasn't busy and got seated quickly. Waitress was great and the atmosphere was cool. The side green beans, coleslaw,Mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole. The food came out quicker than a McDonald's drive through which was surprising and started the conversation man that was way to fast must have microwaved it but the food was warm not hot. The downside was the food it was kinda bland but the sauces were good. I would say the worst was the sweet potato casserole tasted like pumpkin spice and the brisket wasn't great. It was our first time coming here. The burnt ends (6/10) were very rich and saucy. The consistency of each piece varied, as well. Some pieces were tough and dry and others were perfectly tender and moist. The green beans (7/10) were kind of bland. The mashed potatoes (9/10) were great, but could have used a tad more gravy! Had lunch at Company 7 BBQ in Englewood. I got the Smokehouse Salad with chicken. The salad was really good, but I would have preferred more actual salad to chicken. The chicken was really juicy, which is great if you plan to eat the entire salad in one sitting. The salad is pretty large, so I took most of it to go, and it didn't last long, even just until later that evening, due to the juices wilting everything as it sat in the fridge. I'm not sure how they fix their salads to go, but if ordering carryout, or even taking leftovers home, I would definitely ask for the meat to be boxed separately from the veggies. The person I was with, had the chicken tenders and said that they were dry and overcooked, but they still managed to clear their plate. There was also a brisket meal ordered to go, but I didn't hear how that went over. Vegetarian options are extremely limited. The one meal specifically marked as a vegetarian entree on the menu, is just a choice of five side items. Our service was great. There were just two bartenders on duty, with one of them taking all of the dining room tables as well. He stayed on top of our refills and any additional sides or extras that we asked for. I did enjoy my salad, but just thought that I would make note of a couple of things for carryout orders and dietary restrictions. Catering - this is our first time using Company 7 BBQ for our Company Christmas Party Event and it definitely will not be the last. The food was fantastic, in 30+ years of this event; I've never had so many compliments on the food - from our retired executives to our office personnel and field construction employees the food being delicious was a key topic of conversation all night - we even received calls over the weekend thanking us for choosing such great food! In addition to the food, the greatest folks came to assist it through the dinner service and they were delightful. We had great conversations, and they were so pleasant to work with. My personal favorite was that as our group went through the line, someone stood at the end of the table and gave advice on what sauces have won competitions and what sauces mixed well together. I had eaten here years ago and enjoyed the food so we stopped for lunch on our way through town. We arrived at noon and there were very few people in the restaurant. We were seated right away, but then sat at our table for 13 minutes without a single person coming to offer drinks or take our order, and no server insight to flag down. Whenever I drive cross country I tend to stop at restaurants that have been featured on TV food shows. (Okay, often I plan my route around those stops.) This time I planned where I was staying for the night around this place . . . . and I was not disappointed. (In the restaurant, not so much the hotel . . . . but that's best left for another review.) The staff were great, the beer selection was terrific, the BBQ was outstanding and the sauces were unique which is a big deal when you've essentially tastes the same sauces over and over again at so many places. C'mon, there's a full sized fire truck behind the bar! How cool is that? I feel bad about not giving 5 stars here . . . . and if I hadn't been to so many great BBQ places I would in a minute, but I have to have a scale. If a bite of brisket doesn't just melt in my mouth, as well as everything else being great I cant give that last star. 9.5/10 for this place. Old fashion's were served right and were on point (just stick with bartender choice of bourbon on this one, they know what's up). Atmosphere and interior is great. Got the Texan sandwich that did not disappoint. Like the fact there's self serve bbq bottles at each table so you can customize your entree to your own taste liking. Garlic potatoes with brown gravy was delicious and I don't even like brown gravy. After trying this solo I definitely will be bringing the fam back and suggesting to friends in the area! Went to dinner and ordered Burnt ends, side salad, Mac and cheese. To start I was eating my salad and there was a large piece of what looked like butcher paper balled up in my salad. I gave it to the waitress and showed her. She asked if I wanted another salad, umm no, I asked for a baked potato. It was hard and not cooked all the way either was my daughters. The burnt ends were tough and chewy. I have had burnt ends and these were far from it. My grandson asked for lemonade and got a soda. I spent $80 and was not offered an apology, discount, nothing for some nasty paper of some sort in my salad I had chewed on no realizing it was mixed in. This was not a great experience at all. I'd give the food 5 stars and the service 2 stars, so I rounded the 3.5 to 4, since the food was good. They have a drive-thru which was handy for social distancing. I have the brisket which was extremely tasty, the fries and the cole slaw were decent. My biggest complaint was that it didn't come with sauce...I guess you have to ask for it but it didn't occur to me that barbeque didn't come with sauce, and it didn't occur to the kid working the register to ask- he was very surly in general. Also, I asked them for extra napkins since we were eating in the car. The only napkins they have are super flimsy ones that come with plastic silverware in a plastic wrap, so they have to give you extra silverware for each napkin for ask for. I have run in to a string of "meh" food lately and Company 7 BBQ contributed to that feeling. I am on the road for work again and after a long day I did not feeling like going out. I put in a delivery order and waited. I am a good BBQ junkie with an emphasis on the good part. BBQ, both the good and the bad, is expensive and I don't want to feel like I have wasted my money. I feel like I wasted money tonight. Burnt ends are not the most common of BBQ selections on a menu. They come from the brisket and there are, or should be, a limited amount available. When they are on a menu, they sell out fast! Burnt ends are like eating meat butter. Soft, chewy, fatty, and oh so smokey. Company 7 BBQ has burnt ends on their menu so I jumped on it and put my order in. The burnt ends meal comes with two sides and I chose coleslaw and green beans. While I was going through the selection of sides, I noticed a distinct lack of what I would call traditional BBQ sides. Missing from Company 7's line up were potato salad, pinto beans, and mac-n-cheese. I have also seen many places offer okra as a side. I was a bit confused over the missing sides and scratched my head to see a plethora of side salads. Anyway, my order was placed. Delivery was quick and I headed up to my room to dig in. I opened my to-go container and immediately questioned my decision. Sitting in the to-go container was a ball of foil that housed the tiniest chunks of meat I have seen that were called burnt ends. Along with the burnt ends were the smallest containers of sides I have ever seen. I looked up the container codes and they hold 4oz of product. Now you are correct if you thought 4oz is about half a cup. It is but only when you are looking at fluids. a 4oz container filled with a solid is not half a cup, it is a lot less. To give you a visual, each of my sides were about the same size in quantity as a golf ball. Not much. To round out the to-go container, there was a good sized piece of corn bread, and a 2oz container of their basic BBQ sauce. If you remember, I said earlier that burnt ends should be soft, chewy, fatty and oh so smokey? The burnt ends I was looking at were hard, tough, overcooked, I'll give them smokey. If your fork cannot pierce a burnt end and almost breaks it, you don't have a burnt end. You have a lump. There was the occasional soft spot of meat that gave the impression of what i ordered. I know this seems hard and harsh but good food isn't hard and with BBQ fetching top dollar, I expect more. The coleslaw was also disappointing. It was just shredded cabbage that may or may not have been dressed with a sauce. The best part6 of the entire meal were the green beans and the cornbread. The green beans tasted like they had been slow cooked for hours; just like my dream southern grandmother used to make. The cornbread was moist and tasty. I did appreciate the trick of putting the butter under the hot cornbread so that it was soft and spreadable once it got to me. A nice touch. Good food isn't hard. It takes time, patience, and dedication. I am sure Company 7 BBQ didn't start out this way because of the comments I received in the hotel lobby from the aroma wafting from the bag and the affirmations they loved Company 7 and I was in for a good time. The burnt ends were not the right choice for tonight. Maybe I will try the pork or brisket next time? Hopefully Company 7 BBQ can redeem themselves. read more

Just grabbed drive-thru from here. First time ever eating anything from Company 7 BBQ, and over all we really enjoyed our meals. The meats are easily as good as, *if not BETTER,* than the meats at other local BBQ joints (Dickey's, City BBQ). But what really sets Co7BBQ apart are their sauces -- all were EXCELLENT!! The french fries and Saratoga chips were also very good. Corn bread was EXCELLENT -- moist and with just the right amount of sweetness. Sweat tea was also EXCELLENT -- every bit as good as Chick-fil-A's sweet tea!! Customer service was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. Also EXCELLENT! Kids chicken tender meal included two raw chicken tenders breaded. Wanted to try a new place, saw this while we were visiting the park in town. Upon arrival sat quickly, service great, apps were awesome. Then when our food came out, my 10 year old daughter pulled apart her chicken tenders and two of them were completely raw inside. Waitress reacted appropriately to take it to her manager, took it off the bill. However it really killed the whole vibe because my daughter was scared of my wife and I eating something raw as well. We come here for lunch because it's not too far from work. I like to order the brisket. I mix the rookie and chief smoky. My bf adds commissioner burns. It's very spicy. The green beans are amazing!! The salad is ok. When your customer asks for a check, wait a second for them to get their credit card out and then run it real quick. We wouldn't ask if we weren't in a hurry. This place is only convenient for lunch if they can get us served and back to the office by our next appointment. We only get an hour. Would be 5 stars if it were quicker. read more

What a frustrating experience. I called Company 7 intending to place an order for take out. When I informed the employee who answered the phone of this, they asked if I had a large or small order and upon hearing I was ordering for 7 people they recommended I just go through their drive thru without even asking what I was ordering. "Not a problem," I figured and drove over to the restaurant. After waiting in a sizable line before being able to place my order, I was informed that I could not order the fish sandwich, fried pickles or fried onion straws at the drive-thru for some reason (3 of the 7 items I'd intended on ordering over the phone). After sharing this story with the employee over the intercom they said there was nothing they could do for me. I asked to speak to the manager who then was kind enough to make an exception for me and then put a different employee back on the intercom. Upon asking for the same items I was once again informed the fish sandwich was not able to made via drive-thru. At this point my 2 year old is losing his cool in the back seat and my father in-law is growing tired of the entire experience, so we decide to cut our losses and substitute a new item to simply be done and get to eating. After getting to the window and paying the $80+ dollars for the entire meal, I realize I've been charged for two of the substituted sandwich, further adding to the frustration of the experience. Once again, as my intention had been to simply run out and grab dinner for the family I decided to let the issue slide and get the hell out of there without adding any more time to the more than 25 minutes I had sat in the line up to that point. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed with the experience. If I hadn't been directed by an employee on the phone to utilize the drive thru without even inquiring about my order in the first place this may have been a different review.
