Rick, the owner, arrived right on time at 8 a.m. to walk through approximately ten different projects I needed completed. These included hardwiring six smoke detectors, removing an old whole-house vacuum system and capping the PVC pipe, replacing caulking around my kitchen sink, shower, and bathtub, cleaning and maintaining our whole-house fan, replacing a faulty dimmer switch, and repairing and painting rotted wood on an outdoor shed and a bathroom baseboard. Rick took incredibly detailed notes and sent me a thorough estimate that same afternoon. The pricing was very fair, and after I approved the estimate, he called to let me know they could begin the following Monday. Jason arrived promptly at 8 a.m. Monday morning. Although I hadn't met him before, he immediately put me at ease by walking through every item on the list to confirm exactly what needed to be done. He was organized, professional, and got right to work, including picking up supplies and matching paint colors. I felt completely comfortable leaving for work while he worked on the house. When I returned that afternoon, I honestly couldn't even tell anyone had been there! Not a speck of dust, no mess, and no evidence of the amount of work that had been completed. Everything was left spotless. On Tuesday, Logan arrived to finish the last couple of painting details. Before wrapping up, he took the time to walk through the completed projects with me to make sure I was happy with everything. When I returned home, every item was finished, everything was clean, and the house was securely locked. What impressed me most was the exceptional communication and attention to detail between Rick and his employees. There was absolutely no disconnect between what I discussed with the owner and what his team actually completed. Every detail had been documented and communicated. At one point, I even thought a small item might have been overlooked, but Jason checked his notes, and sure enough, it was already on the list! It's refreshing to find a company where the owner and employees are equally professional, punctual, organized, and genuinely committed to doing a great job. RB Handyman Service exceeded my expectations. From the fair pricing and excellent communication to the quality of work and immaculate cleanup, the entire experience was outstanding. We had existing design plans, and before we started the project, we interviewed several contractors and decided on HQR because their portfolio of past work and talks with Ronnie. We also chose HQR because we felt the pricing was fair and transparent, especially for this area (Danville/Blackhawk). Ronnie made sure we stayed on budget and estimated 12 weeks for the project, and if it had not for a delay with our windows we would have finished within that time frame. Once we started, Ronnie's crew was here every day and was always very friendly, hard working and thorough. Staying on track and having someone work on the project every day is valuable and not something one should take for granted when working with a general contractor. Maybe it was because we had an outside designer, but I had totally underestimated the amount of time that I needed to spend myself overseeing the project. There were some hiccups along the way, and some specific installations that required me to hire some sub-contractors myself. I can say though that whenever there was an issue, Ronnie did make sure that things were fixed right away to our satisfaction. Ultimately, we got our dream kitchen for the expected price within the promised time frame, and I am thankful for HQR and Ronnie for that.

They installed an EV wall charger, did electrical in the bathroom, installed hardwired ceiling smoke and CO detectors, kitchen under cabinet lights, electrical on the outside of my home, and 6 Panasonic ceiling fans with lights. They cleaned up after everyday which is very important. My current 5 star contractor left nails in the driveway and on my artificial turf which upset my wife immensely. We had another big project and their price was not competitive so we went to another 5 star Yelp contractor. The only issue that my wife had was when they installed the EV charger, they had to open up the drywall and did not patch and simply placed a blue painter tape on the rectangular hole. My current contractor will be patching the hole as a complimentary service. I requested for a Tesla Powerwall 3 installation and additional solar panels so I will update if they secured the bid or not.
