It's a 5, but not a five like Doga BbQ. The sushi was fresh, service was excellent, the place was very clean, Chinese music playing in the background. It's a solid sushi place that would be at least as good as sushi legend with a similar menu. We had the all you can eat. We sampled many of the choices and all were good. Lots of choice if you don't eat raw fish. They had the California roll made with crabs stick and a variety of choices made with the tempura shrimp or veg. I think the food here is quite good (and I have eaten at many AYCE Sushi restaurants in my time). The quality is high, and the service is quick. The restaurant is always busy whenever I go, and that's a good sign. The ambiance could be better, but overall the experience is enjoyable. read more

Service is friendly and prompt. Facility is clean and fresh but the sushi is low quality. Sashimi was tasteless and tuna was actually still hard (icy/frozen) Salmon was oil and had no flavour. Anytime the words "all you can eat" and "sushi" are combined, its NEVER good. I've tried, many places and they ALL suffer from the same pitfalls: - pre-made rolls/food (tastes dry, and stale-like) - low quality fish - cookie cutter type of delivery of rolls (not really chef made, but more like a factory floor assembly) The one unique thing about this place was you get to just order via an iPad at your table, click the selections you would like, and hit PLACE ORDER. The waiter will be out within 3-5 minutes with your items. This was an adequate lunch for something like ~$16 pp. If you're not big into sushi, you will probably like this. This restaurant was recommended to me on my first night in Chatham. It's a relatively new restaurant that boasts 120 different items on the menu. I did not realize upon entering the restaurant that most people go their for their "all you can eat" special. Adult dinner is around $23 which if you can eat 4 rolls of sushi, isn't a bad deal. I just asked for a regular menu and ordered off of that. I got the Sashimi Silver which included 12 pieces of sashimi , salad, soup, and a bowl of rice all for $13.95. My eyes were bigger than my stomach but everything was delicious. The salmon is normally not my favorite but the salmon here was so good and practically melted in my mouth. I left Tokyo Sushi so pleased with my meal that I returned the next day with a bigger appetite and went for the all you can eat lunch (which is only $14 and I was more likely to be able to get my money's worth). I will state that not all 120 items are available for lunch but there are still plenty to choose from. I ordered edamame and the rainbow roll to start with. I was amazed as to how quickly my order arrived. I ate the rainbow roll and then ordered a BBQ eel hand roll. I didn't know what a hand roll was but it's basically a sushi roll that is wrapped cone style and extremely difficult to eat without spilling out the contents. Thankfully I only ordered one. It still tasted good but I made a mess out of it. I did the math and I realized I had to order at least one more thing to make it worth having gotten the "all you can eat" lunch so I ordered a sweet potato tempura roll. It was served piping hot and was delicious! I was one of the first in the restaurant but by the time I left, it was quickly filling up. The waiter was super attentive and the service was extremely fast. At dinner the previous night I watched a table of teenage boys consume an usually large amount of sushi and it makes me wonder how this restaurant is not losing money off this deal but they seem to be thriving. read more

I love Tokyo Sushi. It feels very authentic and the food is excellent. The reason I give the place a 3 star instead of something higher is that the service is a little inconsisent. Sometimes you get things you don't order. Sometimes things you order dont show up. I wish the best for the owners. This small town is hard for everyone to get an income out of. If you're out here in nowhere land and you like sushi then you should probably give it a shot. They're friendly, albeit a little forgetful when ordering multiple dishes at once. I really liked the deep fried wontons and the frozen summer rolls are a worthwhile dessert read more

What a disappointment! Five of us went for lunch today and ordered off the menu rather than all you can eat. Customer service was terrible at best - very inattentive and after the menu was handed out our server didn't come back for 15 minutes. Poor service is something I can deal with if the food is good, but the bento boxes we ordered were unappetizing and the salmon teriyaki was totally overcooked. The dynamite rolls were the tiniest, saddest looking rolls I've ever seen! The gyoza was not tasty at all and were left in the deep fryer too long. I would not return and I would advise others to stay far, far away. Total waste of money. read more

The ordering tablets are the only good thing about this place. I love that you can just press a button and have more food delivered to your table instead of waiting for the server to come. You would probably have to wait forever because the service is minimal and not very friendly. It takes them forever just to take away dirty plates. All you can eat menu. You write down on a piece of paper what you want and the waitress puts the order in. The sashimi choices were few but very fresh the salmon and white tuna sashimi were so buttery and delicious. They do bring you relatively small portions but that works out well if you like to try a lot of different dishes in one meal. I also enjoyed the spider roll and beef short rib slices. Tokyo Sushi (and the very similar Hana Sushi in Sarnia) offer a middle of the road experience. Of the 3 sushi restaurants in Chatham this is the worst in my opinion. It offers an impersonal atmosphere and your basic "fast-food" bland sushi. It was the 2nd sushi restaurant on the scene in Chatham, but the first to offer all-you-can-eat. The service is horrible, plain and simple... it's actually a joke among a lot of locals to see who had the worst service there. If you want much friendlier service and better food, try Sakura Sushi on Sandy Street near McNaughton. We've been many times and haven't been disappointed. read more
