I was really craving pad Thai and another local restaurant that I usually go to was closed so I decided to give this place another try. The last time I got pad Thai there it was fresh and good. This time it was dry and not very tasty at all. It lacked flavor that it used to have, all of the tofu was rubbery and hard also the chicken was dry. It seemed as if it was sitting under a heat lamp at a buffet or something. I know it wasn't cause during the pandemic there was no eat in service and they do not serve buffet style. It seems as though most people go there for their Chinese food and not the Thai food. I will stick to the coconut chicken soup next time as that never disappoints. read more

I went here with my parents at around 8:30; the restaurant was completely empty other than a second table that came in a little after us. Vegetarian cold rolls were very large and very tasty. The tom yum shrimp soup was also delicious--not super spicy, but still had some heat to it, and the shrimp were fully peeled, which I always appreciate. The vegetable rice noodle house had a very large portion size; my parents shared it and were satisfied. Overall, food was very good and service was fast. Definitely an enjoyable experience. The hotel I'm staying in doesn't have a restaurant. Nearby are Swiss Chalet and Pizza Hut. The woman at Reception recommended the Rice and Noodle Restaurant, about a five minute walk away. She actually raved about it. I love Thai food so I had to check it out for supper! There is a lot of choice on the menu. Without being asked, my server said that the Pad Thai and Cashew Chicken were the most popular dishes. I love Pad Thai so that's what I ordered with chicken It looked and tasted bland. I had been here before years ago when I used to work in Chatham, so when I was visiting today to meet up with my mother who lives in Windsor, and my sister who lives in Harrow, I made this suggestion based on previous experience. This place was phenomenal! We walked in and waited a moment to be seated, and then as soon as we sat down our server brought us water as we reviewed the menus. It was their lunch menu from 11:30am-3pm and the price was just right!! I had the Chicken Pad Thai, which came with a spring roll and wonton soup! Everything was so delicious and our server Lindsay was so attentive, which was awesome because it was starting to get busy and she had a lot of tables to hold up, but didn't miss a beat and handled everything with a smile and she was so friendly! I travel frequently and eat at restaurants because of that reason. As a resident of Chatham-Kent eating local doesn't happen often. I brought our VP of Sales here recently for dinner as a change from the usual haunts. We started with the calamari then followed up with the ginger beef, curry shrimp and chicken rice. This presentation of food was excellent as was the quality and taste! The restaurant is very clean and service was fantastic! Our servers' recommendations paid off. Finally! An ethnic (read: not Italian or Chinese) restaurant in Chatham! This place is actually owned and operated by a Thai couple, so its bound to be authentic. The chef is a former resident of Toronto, and has worked in many Thai kitchens around the GTA. The prices are amazing, and the food is really very good. Hands down, the best restaurant in Chatham-Kent. I was so thrilled when a Thai restaurant opened up that I couldn't wait to try it. I was blown away by the attentive staff, particularly the owners Brian and May, and their desire to make each and every customer feel welcome and appreciated. This restaurant opened three years ago...due to friendly welcome and the extraordinary food I now go there for lunch or dinner at least twice a month, if not more. My perfect meal is the dumplings on the appetizer menu, the lemongrass beef as my entree and deep fried apples covered in caramel sauce as dessert. Mmmm! However, the feeling of fullness and joy only lasted a short hour or so before I blasted my gizzards out. The food was great! I had Thai spring rolls and Beef with Broccoli. The atmosphere is good, but could have been better if there was music. It was just quiet. Service was okay. I've been to R & B a couple of times now and I'm vowing to stop. I had just had a horrible pad thai the night before and was eager to erase that memory forever. I got in and things started out well. The tom yum soup started off the meal on a good note. At $6 for a bowl, it was bit steep but I liked it. The red curry beef ($12) was a different story. The potatoes and carrots were cooked poorly and the curry tasted like a bland beef gravy. It had no hint of curry or creaminess of coconut milk at all. Basically I had a poor man's version of beef stew. If it were for a lack of eating for 12 hours and a lot of hot sauce, I don't know if I could've finished it. They charge for steamed rice at $2 which is always annoying but not as annoying as being charged the $12 where the menu says the red curry beef is $10 and the soup $5. I've been a fan of Rice & Noodle for a long time -- always enjoy getting a hug from Brian & May. Luv the Thai dumplings. Hubby likes Bankok Ginger beef. For vegetarians --- Spicy eggplant, Lemon grass Tofu or Tofu in peanut sauce are my fav's too.......not to mention, curry chicken, cashew chicken.....etc. I usually get take out -- so convenient. This place is OK... but what really frustrates me is I always order EXTRA SPICY! Their version of EXTRA spicy... is somewhat mild!! ONE time... and only one time I went there I think the owner may have been working. I was given the best and hottest Chicken Pad Thai EVER! Even had cut up chilli peppers on top (which I've never been able to get again, even by asking and offering to pay extra). The staff there does leave a lot to be desired. I've watched them seat someone then mumble stuff under their breath as they walk away. The one manager came out and was bickering about how many people have yet to order tonight. I'm sad to say the quality of the food has fallen a lot since Bryan has left. Most of the food seems to be reheated or packaged. I hope they decide to look at their food supplier and choose fresh local ingredients and start making everything in house from scratch. I ordered the Cantonese chow mien and was very disappointed. The sauce was extremely watery, overwhelmingly garlicy and lacked any other flavour. The pad Thai we ordered was pretty good, not really bright and fresh as other reviews claimed but it was still good. read more

What a gem in Chatham. The Thai food is amazing and the owners recognize you even if you're a semi-regular. They even come over to talk with you. A great menu selection and great Chinese dishes too. My favourite dishes are the Pad Thai and the green curry chicken. Their mango salad is refreshing and the spring rolls are always a favourite. read more
