Gorgeous…read more Located just south of Grand Bend, this picture perfect winery & cidery has become a day-trip destination for couples, girls trips, bachelorettes, mom's-day-outs and everything in between. It's just so stinkin' pretty. The grounds are beautiful and the swing seats are really cool. Everywhere you look is breathtaking, and of course a photo opportunity. The food and drinks are reasonable. The charcuterie and "Apple & Brie Pinsa" (pizza) are my recommendations, along with a flight so you can find your new favourite drink. The "Peach Apple Hard Cider" is mine. Did you know that all of their wine and cider is gluten free? They have a gluten free menu and can accommodate most food allergies. They also have some really good merch. And not just clothing, I'm talking candles, chocolate bars, honey, and even those super neat lids for cans. (I'm a sucker for local small business merch, can you tell?) Last but not least, get a Peach Apple gelato to go, it's the perfect summer/fall treat.

You can only choose 5 to sample out of a few dozen for $8. After filling out the form, a woman gives you a small palette with five half filled tiny dixie cups, like the ones my dentist used when I was a kid. She throws in a bag of oyster crackers and walks into the back room where the wine making action is. It's at this point you'd better have some previous knowledge or the ability to figure out what the crackers are for and what to do next. She's not going to be any help. Knowing I don't care for sweet wines and very few whites, I spread my samples across the reds, dry and semi-sweets. I also picked a pear flavoured hard cider. I mastered the crackers. Ranked the five. Then the woman reappeared with a pen and order tablet. I guess it's assumed you'll purchase some of those wines. I didn't like the flavour of their Pinot Noir, but the Marquette (dry) and the Concord (semi) made the trip home with us. This wasn't anything like what I've seen in the movies, so it was a bit of a disappointment. I also believe my hostess should've been more available, helpful and less presumptuous. In the future, I'll have a totally new approach and enjoy it more. 10/25
