We took a Sunday drive out to Saint Clair, and this was the perfect lively, but laid-back spot for a drink and dinner by the water! Most breweries do not have food, but War Water definitely came through with a unique, tasty menu! We really enjoyed their beer selection, the views of the water, and the entertainment of the live music! Our server took great care of us and had a great sense of humor when we cracked jokes! The brussels were so yummy but avocado bombs are an absolute MUST. For dinner, I had the ahi poke bowl and it was outstanding!! I would absolutely order that again. We ate here with a group of people on a Saturday during the Halloween season. What a fun and entertaining experience! The food was excellent, the service was friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere was so much fun. They really decorate a ton here, and there is always a big party upstairs the weekend before Halloween. Plenty to see and do, this place is perfect for gatherings, parties or just a group of friends. The beer is excellent and there are many choices that rotate through. I also was surprised by the food - not just bar food, the sushi, fish and Chips, sandwiches and nachos were all great. This is a stop I've been wanting to make for quite some time and I finally decided I'm not waiting for anyone else, I got myself some carry out. Definitely looks like an awesome spot to watch the game and enjoy some beers. I got the mahi mahi bowl; it needed a little bit of salt but otherwise it was delicious. There's a sriracha aioli on top of the protein and vegetables and it sits on a bed of rice. I think this place has an elevated kitchen that I wish all breweries could have. It is not your average burger and pizza spot. They've got burgers as well I believe but they have an awesome menu with many out of the box choices. I really hope to come back soon or maybe once the lions are back on in the fall! I got a six pack sampler of beer as well and I'm looking forward to that! read more

We have not had the experience of trying the food at War Water until today. Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre. The cheese sticks were insanely huge and we could only eat one each. The food is also on the pricey side, but you do seem to get decent portions. It was rather busy and the service was a bit slow. The beer definitely is what we go to drink here. We will return, but most likely for the beer only. Food for us is a pass. read more

Visited War Water Brewery during the Winter Festival, and while it was packed (seating is first come, first serve), the service was impressively fast, however refills were not quick. Also was extremely loud with the band. The food was solid--nothing mind-blowing, but fresh and tasty. I had the Salmon BLT, which was cooked well with a hot honey drizzle on toasted sourdough, and my husband enjoyed the mahi mahi tacos. The kids' chicken strips were real chicken, which was a nice touch. The burger was also fresh and yummy. The beer was great, and I saw sushi coming out that looked good too. You're not really sure who is waiting on you they kind of do a table share kind of late service which makes it very difficult to pinpoint someone that if you need a refill. Was told by a friend how great this place is. Stopped in for a drink and appetizer. I know it's a brewery but was hoping for something else. I tried their purple seltzer. Not that good. Nothing special on the drink menu. Ordered corned beef egg rolls. Those were good. There about 45 minutes max, 6 different waitstaff came up asking if we wanted food. High pressure, they don't communicate and I was getting highly annoyed. Leave us alone for a damn minute to eat and drink. Stop being so pushy ! Won't be back. read more

I have been to this brewery a few times and by far their smash burger is amazing. Because I truly can't have gluten I eat it without a bun and they have bagged chips. Their fries are in the same oil as all the other fried items. This last time I got the salmon Greek salad with their house vinaigrette and it was very good. Very fresh. If you are a fan of grape soda then you will love their purple drink. It's a gluten free hard seltzer and they have it on tap. Excellent but not on the low calorie side..... this is real seltzer. My wife and I are long time customers of War Water and visit there often. It breaks my heart to see their decline in both the quality of ingredients used for their menu along with the execution of the recipe with high priced meals slapped together worse than a fast food assembly line. My wife and I had two smash burgers today that were horrible and actually made fast food McDonalds burgers look good. The meat quality was a very high fat to beef ratio to save money. The outside of the burgers had a thick burnt shell (nearly inedible) and next to no condiments. The look of disappointment on my wife's face was priceless as she knowingly stated we really should have gone to Hamlin pub next door. Seems to be our next option as I won't pay $50 again for garbage. read more

The beers are great, food delish and the overall atmosphere very chill. We have played trivia here and the view of the water is beautiful in the summer. They have a nice patio area to enjoy your drinks. They also serve spirits so if beer is not your thing, one can enjoy a cocktail. War Water is a bit of a drive for me, but when the sun is out & you can put the windows down, the drive is a perfect escape. Had a great time out played pool and had 4 rounds of drinks no problems getting help with any questions and for the people that are not beer drinkers they allow you to bring in a bottle of wine for a corking fee. I've been here a couple of times and plan on coming back over and over again.... with friends! The beer is good, although I wish the selection was a little larger. I won't lie, we come here for the food and the brew is a bonus! The sushi is excellent! We like the D Roll. All of their appetizers sound really good. I wouldn't mind coming for a table full of apps. Irish Egg Rolls are a must try!! Their Teriyaki Bowl is packed with flavor! We sat near the exit of the kitchen and just wanted the food go by the whole time and it all looked awesome. This was on our list of breweries to tour. It sounds super far but is really only 35 minutes from me. We headed out on a day where the storms were quite bad. We got very lucky in that it cleared up a bit before we got there. Unfortunately for us though, the storms knocked out the cable so we missed the first quarter of the lions game. This was quite a find though! When we first walked in it seems just like a warehouse. I got a little nervous but followed the hallway and was pleasantly surprised. The bar/restaurant is quite large. You can see lake saint clair from inside and if you went outside (if the weather was better we definitely would have sat outside) the view is incredible! I bet this is the place to be in the summer! We sat at the bar and had a great bartender who helped us choose our beers. They had just run out of their red, so I got an Octoberfest. He got a double IPA but switched to Octoberfest after. Now I would have assumed that they were more of a burger place. I was so wrong! They have a huge menu and it was full of unique choices. The chef is Hawaiian that is more of the flair. They have a fresh sushi menu too! I got this amazing shrimp bowl. Absolutely delicious. He got a Hawaiian pork type of sandwich. I can't remember what it's called. I think this is a spot we can definitely come back to this summer and hang out. There is even a little Inn across the street. Would be a fun little staycation for sure! Would definitely return. Husband and I split the shrimp tempura roll and we were very impressed with how good it was at a brewery. We also split the sliders with onion rings. The sliders were thick and fairly good, only complaint is it only came with 4 onion rings which was smaller than we expected.
