They had a golden retriever that greeted all of the guests and brought a lot of joy to the patrons. He has since died, but now there is a brand new puppy joining the team! Sadly, the pup wasn't there last night. I was hoping to meet him. But I'm sure he/she will be a wonderful new addition. One important thing to note is that there is no kitchen here. No kitchen does not have to mean no food though. They do have a good truck, which is available (with a limited menu) on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-10pm. The staff will also advise you on local spots with free delivery to the brewery, and you can always grub hub, or pick something up and bring it. It's just a nice place to go and relax. No pressure. The beertenders almost never come over by even when it's slow, if they say they will be back in a minute - they probably wont be back, and the beers are often half full in the mugs when you have specific beertenders. There is one AMAZING worker, Jason. He is attentive, always helpful, quick and manages the bar fantastically. I do regularly have issues with another specific employee/manager, a woman who's name begins with a T. She has been there since day 1 and service remains poor, always with a little bit of attitude. Clarice is good at blend ideas, sometimes blending a beer just makes it that much better. I wish so bad that they would bring back the dart/ring toss spot in the back to play games. Very wasted space back there now and it was always fun to play back there. Love the patio space with shade. Love the event space and events. Tad loud on live music nights, but thats to be expected. They have about 9 beers on tap and 3 meads I believe. The owners are absolutely wonderful and happy to let you sample until you find the one you like. The Midwest IPA was my fave but every single beer I tasted was delicious. Secondly, I'm not a mead fan, but their blueberry mead has amazing depth, character and flavor very much akin to a port wine. It was wonderful. Absolutely will be grabbing a bottle of that, cause at 14% it's worth every drop.

Perhaps the kitchen crew resented having to work on the holiday. The men's restroom was not clean and the stall was very cramped. We will probably bypass Blake's Backyard in the future.
