Cascadian Dark Ale

We stopped into Stumblebum about 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday afternoon. It was a good decision. The location in a big strip mall with a Walmart doesn't give the best first impression for a brewery, but the inside is spacious and very comfortable and inviting. There are no big TVs, the music is at a good volume for conversation, and there are games to play and lots of plants to admire. Most importantly, the two beers we tried were excellent, and we had a great chat with the friendly bartender.

A great new-to-me brewery out in the burbs. Tons of free parking thanks to the strip-mall location, and the space inside is surprisingly spacious--clean, bright, with plenty of tables and a huge bar. We grabbed a couple of bar seats and settled in for a pint (or two). Our bartender was super friendly and genuinely helpful--wish I'd caught his name. We ordered the piña colada sour and a stout, both solid pours with something for every palate. I also tried a taster of the barleywine, which was deliciously balanced--high ABV but neither too sweet nor too boozy. The food menu looked good, and I appreciated seeing a couple of vegan options. The artichoke salad I ordered was the perfect snack. They also offer crowlers, cans to go, and plenty of merch. Great beer, good food, warm service--I'll definitely be back.

Went back, warmly greeted by owner. Had a flight and grabbed a long brew tag. Really enjoyed the farmhouse, hefe, and Vera ipa. Grabbed some beer to go also. Next time cheese! BTW- owner doesn't think people look at Yelp app all that much so please let him know that you've read my review!

Tasty beer!

Nice local brewery offering craft beers & sandwiches. They have cheese boards & fry flights as well. Friendly staff & calm atmosphere. Love their west coast IPA. Tomato soup is yummy & $2.

We really enjoyed our time here! We got there right when they opened and were able to have a nice chat with the owner. They have a unique beer and cheese pairing selection. We didn't do that but we enjoyed a couple of beers and got a charcuterie tray. Holy smokes! The cheeses were AMAZING. We ended up eating the entire thing. We really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely come back.

New brewery in the huge walmart strip mall off of Busy Maple. They have a railroad theme going on. I asked the owner why and he said it grew of of the stumblebum concept as a railroad traveling bum. The NE IPA and Kolsch in particular were really good. Limited food menu, the pretzels were great. The meat and cheese board seemed a little pricey. They do have tasting flights of beer, and sell their own soda on tap. The beer was a little pricey for a stripmall. Great customer service, and the bathrooms were huge, clean and in good repair. During our visit they had a local vendor pop up thing going on, which was nice.

Carl Reiner Turkey Panini, $15? Only 2 thin slices of turkey, a dishoner to Carl.

A second brewery in Troy, close to the Walmart on Maple across from the Troy Motor Mall!m. Came here for the soft opening on Tuesday, official opening is Friday 6/7/2024. We were promptly greeted as it was not busy yet, but fully staffed. They had 5 of their own beers available, a good selection and they were good, though a little pricey at $8 and $8.50 a pint. We waited a bit and ordered food, beer cheese pretzels and a turkey panini sandwich to split. The pretzels we not hot unfortunately, I assume they are prepared from frozen, but the sandwich for $15 was a big let down. There was only 2 thin slices of turkey on it, see my photo. We were asked how everything was and I should have said something, or simply send it back, but we were with another couple. So the food was a let down. Our friends ordered the charcuterie, for $15.50. I don't know what to expect but it did not seem like much either. The ambience is great for a brewery. Modern farmhouse decor with awesome laid back bluegrass music. They have a ton of taps that I am sure will be filling up as they brew more beer. They have their own branded merch for sale as well, including shirts and hats. Hopefully they will get their food preparation and portioning to match their prices soon.

Great beers and great service. I had my first visit to Stumblebum earlier today and I will definitely be back again. I have been meaning to stop by since they opened and I finally got over there.

Basically, what you get on a cutting board. But I guess you pay for the presentation!

I had high hopes from these reviews, however I was extremely disappointed. Literally just Ritz crackers, soggy lunch meat and whatever cheese they found at Walmart... Also, they don't have dark brews! Don't waste your money on an adult Lunchable. I thought because it was empty, it would be good and fast. But I was wrong.

Doing good things with beer and charcuterie. Two of my favorite things in life. Service was great. Love the location.

No dark beers available. Vegetarians will not be happy here. Hoping for more food options in the future.

The food here is really good from the sandwiches to the bbq plates. You definitely leave here…read morefeeling very full and happy afterwards! There's a good selection of beers and cocktails as well. If you're looking to host a larger party for a birthday or any other get together, this is a great spot. There's lots of options on the menu and a more private dining room near the back of the restaurant for larger parties.

The starters of cornbread, candy bacon and sprouts were must-haves even though you knew you'd fill up a little too much. The brisket had depth, the pulled pork not needing sauce so you just add a splash for the taste, and everything felt like it had a point of view. Unfortunately, this place seems to have abruptly pivoted into a Tex-Mex concept, and it's not doing them any favors. The new menu feels confused. It leans heavily on Tex-Mex staples but still tries to incorporate the old smoked meats (which the brisket WAS still the same thankfully), and the result is a mismatch that never quite comes together. Everything sounds promising in theory, but what arrived was underwhelming--neither a satisfying barbecue dish nor a standout Tex-Mex offering. It's as if the kitchen is trying to be two different restaurants at once and succeeding at neither. To make matters worse, the menu itself is physically difficult to read--the font is so small and cramped that ordering becomes more of a strain than it should ever be. The atmosphere didn't help. At one point during our meal, a staff member began loudly sweeping the floor and slamming chairs around nearby (and it went on for nearly half an hour?!), completely disrupting the experience. It felt careless and intrusive, especially while guests were still actively dining. The one bright spot of the evening was our waiter, who was genuinely excellent. Attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and quick to try and smooth over our disappointment - he did everything he could to salvage the experience. If service alone determined our return, we'd be back. But it doesn't. Between the identity crisis in the kitchen, the mediocre execution, the distracting environment, and even something as basic as an unreadable menu, this place has lost what made it worth visiting in the first place. It's disappointing to say, but we won't be returning.
