The tour is quite educational and fun and starts with the history of building and the story of six childhood friends who decide to start a distillery as adults, almost upon a whim, during a get together. As part of this tour you will see the full process From the mash bill, to fermentation, through the distillation process, barrel storing/aging and finally end up in the bottling station. A full in depth explanation of how to make Bourbon from start to finish is given during this tour that I found truly fascinating and quite educational where I was quite impressed how they accomplish all this in a fairly small footprint. Tour aside, Detroit distillery makes some seriously good Bourbon, Vodka and Gin. They currently have 1500 barrels in Storage with an ever increasing distribution which speaks volumes on how well this small distillery is being received by the public and the quality of their liquor products.
