Robot bringing your drinks to your private room from the ceiling! Wow..Japanese themed and very modern and contemporary. You can rent a private room for karoke with your friends. A server will still enter your room or you can order your drinks via your cell phone and the robot will drop down into your room and deliver your drinks. Definately a very unique and fun place! Different variety of people, love it!!! Fun,Fun,Fun... read more

Wow I definitely didn't expect a NY style club in downtown Cincinnati. This place is fun and perfect for a birthday party or celebration.

Tokyo kitty is more like Tokyo sh*tty. The aesthetics of the place are pretty cool, but when you go up to the bar you might be greeted by the most ferocious man who doesn't want to give you the drink you planned on ordering. Instead, he will insist on something else, you'll say uh, no, and he will ask you if you want to be kicked out? You will think it's a joke, and his stare will soon make you realize he is not joking at all. What? So incredibly rude. This man proceeded to patronize the rest of the people in our group and treat us like children when we were paying several hundred dollars on a karaoke room. Yes, people who are drinking are a little more difficult to talk to, but we were there to have fun and he was being completely ugly to us. This is the point of this bar, right? To drink and do karaoke? He put the biggest damper on the night. This place has a lot of potential but the way we were treated was completely ludicrous. read more

This place is something else! I have never been to a "private karaoke" bar but I realllllly enjoyed it. For the first time I actually sung!! It's just you and your friends in a private room, so no reason to be shy! Not to mention the drinks are flowing. You can use an app on your phone to order your drinks, then they descend from the ceiling. Don't fret, if you don't want to use your phone they also have waitresses who occasionally come into the room to clear out empty drinks who also take drink orders. If it's a last minute decision to go to Tokyo Kitty, they do have a public karaoke spot that's connected to where the bar is. It also turns into a dance floor later on at night. I had so much fun here!!! I wish we had one of these in Minneapolis! read more

I loved our experience at Tokyo Kitty. It was a fun intimate event. We had six people in the tea room, which was super cute. The staff was kind and helpful. We loved the drink bot. No complaints after our first experience and our enitre group mentioned they want to make it a regular thing. read more

Pretty decent place to end out the night. The main thing they've got going for them is the atmosphere. They've done absolutely everything that they can to imitate a real Japanese karaoke bar, they even have robots bring you the drinks in the private rooms! But the drinks are really pricey, and private rooms rent by the hour meaning you're gonna need at least 7 or so to make the price worth it. The songs for the karaoke are . . . odd. All the modern songs sound like the kidzbop version, with parts we didn't recognize and background vocals obviously not by the artist. I don't think there's anything that they can do about that though (probably due to copyright issues), and it gave us a good laugh, but take that into consideration if you're a musician or die hard music fan. Like I said, great place to end the night. Go and soak in the karaoke in the main room, buy an expensive drink, and just see it to say that you can! Cool place to have in Cincy for sure! read more

I'd be more apt to give this a 3 1/2 star rating, but here we are. Tokyo Kitty was...an experience, to say the least. I loved how unique it was, from the Japanese airport entrance, to the mirror hallway, to the weird artwork and robotic drink carrier. When you go into the main room, where people are singing karaoke, it gets a bit chaotic. There's minimal seating, and there's not really adequate space for a lot of people. It can get packed from wall to wall and just walking through the door can be deterring because of the people who block your way from the get-go. In fact, I got pushed around from the second I stepped in. The bartenders seemed nice, although most of them were standoffish. I did like that they were all dressed fun - such as wearing cat ears! My boyfriend and I tried two different drinks, and both were lackluster. His tasted like straight booze/fizzy water, and mine tasted like straight syrup. Given the quality, I'd say they were overpriced. Our experience might've been different if we had gotten a private room for karaoke, but it didn't pan out that way. I think there's a lot of potential with a joint like this, and I can at least say that there was a lot of variety with the songs people were singing. We had planned on coming here before we even started our out-of-town trip to Cincinnati, but I don't feel like Tokyo Kitty lived up to our hopes! read more

See all

this was the best place ever. came here for my birthday last minute and laura was awesome. i will definitely come back !!

Okay if you love karaoke and good drinks, this place if for you. I've been here multiple times with the girl group I met on Bumble. The staff is really friendly, the vibe is super fun, and the interior design is very unique, with all white walls and colorful, neon lights. My friends and I have been here on a Tuesday and it was a good time and we've also been on a Saturday and it was still a good time! If you're looking for a fun night out with your girls, this is def a place to visit! read more

Me and 3 friends visited Tokyo kitty last week. It was an okay experience. We reserved a room for an hour. They didn't have a good selection of hip hop songs but there was a good selection overall. It was hard to figure out how to add and search for songs, we wasted 15 minutes adding songs before we started singing. It would be nice to be able to add your songs before your time starts in a lobby or something. They overcharged my friend but ended up refunding her. We could hear other groups from our room. We had fun overall, I'd probably give this place another shot. read more

Stay far away from Tokyo Kitty! I had the worst possible experience at this place with a group of friends Sat night (6/1). Assaulting and verbally abusing customers is how they tell you it's time to leave the karaoke rooms! We had a reservation at 1am for a karaoke room and had about 10 people in the party. Everything was going well for the majority of the time, and the hostess/server in the room was very friendly. We were there for an hour ordering drinks and singing, and then without any warning, one of the bouncers came charging into the room at 2am and yelled at us to all get out. We had no one tell us time was up or that we would have to leave soon. He came in yelling that they were closed, we all had to leave, and actually grabbed one of my friends standing next to the door and threw him out of the room. Apparently assaulting customers is par for the course at this place. I stayed behind to ask our server what was happening and she was clueless. The manager came over and I told her the situation and asked why he had to come in and be so aggressive with the group. She wasn't very apologetic and said that he shouldn't have done that to us, but must have thought we were a group that was refusing to leave. She wasn't concerned that he yelled at us and wasn't concerned that one of her employees assaulted a customer. She just said he was confused - and apparently that's just how they clear their rooms! We argued for some time about the whole situation and she insisted that her employee did nothing wrong. He should be fired for treating customers that way. Stay far away - there are plenty of other bars in Cincinnati where you can have a drink and not be assaulted by the employees! read more

Very cool atmosphere and interesting menu. Visited during pride month & loved the vibe!! The dance floor is rather small though.

I celebrated my birthday here by reserving a private room. Everyone was so helpful and checked in on us regularly to make sure everything was running smoothly. BBOT is super cool and all of the drinks tasted great. There was a pretty good selection of songs and it was easy to work. I definitely recommend booking more than an hour for the rooms. read more

We visited recently to rent a private karaoke room. I appreciate the effort to provide this form of entertainment as there are few similar options in Cincinnati. The room was comfortable albeit kitschy. The robot bartender was a novel and entertaining concept. That said, there were many areas for improvement. As others have said, the song selection is subpar. Many mainstream artists were missing entirely or their catalog was severely limited. Also, the backing tracks varied in quality. Some were not in the right speed, did not include appropriate backing vocals, or even seemed to be computerized knockoffs of the real thing. While ostensibly private, the rooms are not at all soundproof. There were times when the singing from the rest of the bar drown out our room's efforts. Finally, the screen seemed very low tech, especially compared to venues that offer real music videos in addition to lyrics. During several songs, the words jumbled as they appeared. All in all, it was a fun time. If you want private karaoke, especially downtown, it is not clear that there is an alternative option. So for now, Tokyo Kitty is the place for it, but I would encourage them to work on improving the details. read more

Great new spot in downtown. I went there the opening weekend and it didn't feel like it was their first Saturday being open. The service was great, the dance floor was full and drinks were delicious. We went there a little early in the night (close to 8.30 pm) and luckily we didn't have to wait at all. We went in, got our drinks and sang our hearts out. The decor is great with all the neon dancing lights on the ceilings. The Japanese themed drinks are delicious and it's pretty cool how they have robots serving the drinks in the rooms. The karaoke ends in the main room at 10 pm after which it turns into a dance floor with a DJ. I will be back soon to check out one of the private rooms. Come here for a great time! read more

Couldn't taste any Vodka in the drinks we ordered. I believe they watered down the bottle and then served it.

Inspired by Sofia Coppola's 2003 film Lost in Translation, Tokyo Kitty is the slice of Japan you didn't realize you needed! Like the Japanese pavilion at Epcot, all the decor, drinks, and music are carefully crafted to impress. Upon walking inside, you appear to be in an airport terminal. This is the holding area for when the bar is at capacity, but worry not, you can still order a drink! Once you're inside, it honestly feels like you aren't anywhere near Cincinnati. The geniuses at Gorilla Cinema have mastered this effect and I can only describe it as magic. I have only experienced the joy of reserving one of the private rooms, so I don't know how things fly in the main room. Reserving the private room is worth it! It's a bit expensive, and the system for ordering and choosing songs could use a few tweaks, but I would rather sing with a group of close friends than be smushed with a bunch of strangers in the main room (it was super crowded on opening night, I'm not sure if it's still jammed on the weekends). My friends and I were in a room that had a bunch of cats in it and each room has its own theme. The most magical part about the private rooms? A robot brings your drink down from the ceiling! This is unlike anything I have ever experienced before and everyone needs to check it out! It was like something out of a Futurama episode and I loved it. Tokyo Kitty is such a creative concept and I can't wait to experience more magic. Hey Bill Murray, the next time you're in town for a Xavier game, come check out this bar. I hear there's a room themed after you! read more

delicious and visually gorgeous cocktails (I recommend the Kissu), adorably decorated, super fun karaoke bar perfect for a night out with friends!! 10/10 would recommend, can't wait to go back! read more

Booked a private room for 18; rooms are reasonable, and they know you're drinking. Like any popular night spot with karaoke, be prepared to wait a while to sing if you don't have a room, or grease the DJ's palms a little bit to jump up in line. read more

We spent $1k and were kicked out aggressively without warning. Great experience but poorly managed!

My friends and I were very excited to check this place out for the first time and we were severely saddened by the way we were treated upon arriving and only being there for 5 minutes. We visited last Saturday the 24th for my girlfriend's birthday with a group of 5 friends. When we first walked in, we were impressed with the layout and we were watching the drinks come down from the ceiling which we thought was pretty nice. We stood over by the bar and this server, with tattoos on her arm and wore glasses, stepped right in front of us, making slight body contact with my girlfriend and sternly told us to, "move out the way." My girlfriend apologized and explained that this was our first time here and we were just trying to figure out what kind of drink selection you all have.  We took a few steps back and was looking at the drink menu. The server then repeated herself again and told us she needed to grab some drink for other customers and we need to move. We stood back and she gave us a discourteous glance and we watched her just stand by the bar and there were no drinks for her to grab. Her demeanor was that of a pouty child and even after us telling her this was our first time visiting, she never offered to tell us anything about the place or even asked us if we needed help. She just looked very annoyed with us and we had only been there for 5 minutes. We felt very embarrassed and hurt that we weren't welcomed at all. We will never consider going to that place ever again. There are too many other bars in the area that have excellent customer service and will greet and help you as soon as you walk in. This place did not show us any friendly or welcoming customer service. We will not be returning in the future. read more

This place seems pretty unorganized. I reserved a room for my 21st birthday. Online I reserved it for two hours they confirmed my reservation for two hours. When I showed up they gave us the room and then kicked us out after an hour. When I told them I booked the room for two hours they said I didn't and that they had someone else coming in right after me and that they needed us to leave. I have the screenshot of the reservation confirmation. It was just annoying because it was my birthday and not everyone got to sing a karaoke song because we ran out of time. They claimed that they only booked rooms for one hour but it didn't say anything about that on the website.. not a lot of information or communication. Also my mom gave her card information to be used to pay for the room but when I arrived they told me that wasn't going to work and that I needed to pay. Probably won't be returning unless someone else pays for the room lol. Oh and they also didn't have majority of the songs I wanted to sing. read more

Stopped buy tonight with friends to check it out after dinner. It is a very cool space. Would love to go back with a group of friends. They have open area and bar the the rooms looked very intriguing. read more

Was SO excited to try this bar, as I love Video Archive and the Overlook Lodge. A friend decided to take me here last night. Upon arrival, there was a bouncer standing right outside the entrance. Totally normal. What was NOT normal was the guy immediately seemed very agitated by our arrival. We were the only people in line, as it was a weeknight. He sees a small bit of the plastic coating peeling up on my VERY real I.D., and begins trying to bend the I.D., rudely asking, "Why does your I.D. bend so much?" I thought he was actually going to crack my license in half. He then asked me to remove my ball cap hat, and tried to make my friend enter the bar without me. After bending my I.D. for nearly a full minute, he says, "Fine. I'll let you in...tonight." I was so put off by this entire interaction that I walked into the bar and walked right back out. I will never come back to this place, and I'm now doubting going back to Video Archive or the Overlook. Fix your staff or this place is going downhill real quick. read more

So much fun! The vibe is cool and the look of the place is pretty neat with all the neons and and different themed rooms! We had a room reserved for 2 hours but when arrived, we were told there was a mistake and we only had an hour. Apparently if you book online, don't just rely on that and make sure to call to confirm! The room was awesome, you get to choose from thousands of songs to karaoke to and you order drinks from you phone which are delivered to you from the robot in the sky, ha! Totally disappointed that we had our room time cut short but we enjoyed hanging at the main bar, it was a little harder to get a drink but the staff were all very friendly and knew their drinks! I tried a few of their house cocktails, just a heads up that the Moscow Mule is not served in a copper mug (boo). I really like The Luna, it was beachy and light! The selfie options are endless with the cool decor and lights, the mirror room may have been m favorite part... well besides the amazing music! Totally can't wait to go back again! read more

On a Tuesday, which was not busy at all, took forever to get drinks and bartender seemed to be disappearing. While most of the staff were generally friendly, it seems like the management of this place isn't determined to keep their customers coming back and doesn't understand how to treat people to make sure they have a pleasant experience. It wouldn't have taken much to make us loyal customers. This doesn't seem to be a staff problem, but rather a management issue. They were having a Michael Jackson/Janet Jackson tribute night apparently. We were told we could still sing whatever songs we wanted in the main room. After two of our group sang non Michael/Janet songs, the management clearly goes to tell the very nice DJ that no one should be singing anything else. So she has to make this announcement. And multiple people tell us we can just go rent a room- why? There were very few people patronizing the place except for us. We were the largest group there. And honestly... no one can karaoke Michael or Janet songs well. We played along and tried to sing the songs from these two artists and have a good time but most of us were quite put off by the experience. We wanted to like the place and perhaps come back and rent a room another night. But none of my friends seem keen on returning. It's all about how you treat your customers who are paying for drinks and have made the effort to try your establishment. read more
