Tokyo House is hands-down my favorite Japanese spot in the BX. It's usually difficult to find decent sushi out here but this place does not disappoint! Take advantage of the 3 sushi roll lunch special. It is very fairly priced and you get a decent amount of food. I went with the eel avocado roll, yellowtail scallion roll, and salmon roll. They were perfectly fresh, nicely spicy, and packed with flavor. I also got a sashimi appetizer which tasted very fresh, light, and delicious. They provided an assortment of yummy fresh fish which were all very good. Portions are big, so I was stuffed and happy. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. It's definitely a great value in Riverdale. I have been ordering from here on and off for years, and the consistency is unreal. Fresh ingredients, delicious execution, and that neighborhood charm keep us coming back. If you're craving authentic, satisfying Japanese food without the fuss or sky-high prices, Tokyo House is the spot. read more

I'm not from the area and stopped randomly because I was hungry. This place was excellent! more of an old-school fast casual sushi place with good service and fresh tasting food. I tried two of the rolls a tempura and eel roll. The place was clean and the food arrived at my table quickly. highly recommended! read more

I believe the owners are many staff are Chinese, not Japanese, and the foods are not very authentic. I ordered their volcano sushi rolls, and it was not fresh at all. And the rolls fall apart the moment I pick them up. read more

Placed an order for pickup and it was great. My two special rolls Ben came with edamame and some pineapples. The service was quick and accurate. The place itself is small so I'm unsure if I would ever eat inside but for takeout, you can't go wrong! read more

Tokyo House - R27. Tokyo house chef special roll - Japanese Near Me - Bronx, New York

Great food, great service. Low key, small seating, but doesn't seem to get too busy as most people end up ordering delivery or takeout.

We were very pleased with our recent meal at Tokyo House. My kids devoured the complimentary edamame (we ordered more). All of the sushi was prepared perfectly. Our server was delightful, even adjusting the temperature in the restaurant when she saw that my kids were cold. Lovely little neighborhood spot. read more

Solid menu, good sushi rolls and service that is attentive without being overbearing. Definitely will be back.

Not sure why I keep coming here ... Guess I need to learn my lesson every few weeks or so. Place is really hit or miss but mostly miss. We get the salmon teriyaki bento box and most of the time they give in the cheapest cut possible.... The fish is white, barely grilled, slimy and has a slight fishy taste. They increased their prices by like 33% at least give a better cut and better grilled piece of fish! The salmon we get from the AYCE is better quality. Staying away at least for the next several weeks again. Ugh read more

The food is always so good. The service is is pretty good. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice.

I thoroughly enjoy this place. And appreciate the fact that they tailor their meals to exactly the way I want them. Very fast delivery service. Extensive menu. I'm not a frequent patron of Japanese restaurants, but this food is really very good. Highly recommend. read more

I regularly went to Tokyo House before the pandemic, and now order from them once in a while. After touring many of the sushi restaurants near Yonkers, I've picked them as my regular spot. While they may not be quite up to Manhattan standards, I always have a good experience. You can tell that their fish varies in freshness depending on day of the week -- sometimes the red snapper, yellowfin, or white tuna is outstanding, other times it's just alright. This is perfectly understandable from a small restaurant, and I don't hold this against them. The fish is always at least good! It's just sometimes outstanding. They're also pretty generous with their avocado in California rolls and the sizes of their sashimi slices. Their tempura rolls (dragon rolls?) always have good crispiness. The miso soup is good, the salad is very meh. So, in lower Westchester, they're one of the best value and most consistent sushi spots. Consistently nice. read more

Perfect California rolls always fresh, and there always polite and prices are fair I'd definitely recommend!

I regularly order takeout lunch and dinner from this place while working from home during Covid, and the food is consistently good. People who work there are always nice, and they fill out orders quickly. Glad to have this option in the neighborhood. Actual sitting area in restaurant is really small and doesn't seem all that pretty to look at, so I don't think I would actually like dining in. Highly recommend for takeout. read more

This rating is based on my one (and only) experience with this restaurant. I ordered the Sushi Dinner and a salmon skin roll with spicy mayo. The order arrived quickly (Uber Eats) and and in good condition. The salmon skin roll was good. However, when I got to Sushi Dinner, the tuna roll had an odd, unpleasant taste, and I stopped after one piece. Some of the rest of the sushi items were OK, but I had the distinct impression that something wasn't right, perhaps the fish wasn't that fresh. I simply could not finish the meal. Sushi isn't new to me, I've eaten and loved it for many years - there was no novelty factor involved. I was very disappointed; on one hand I'd like to give this local business another chance, because as a performing artist I know many people in the food services as well as the arts who have been impacted by the pandemic, but I'm not sure I have the fortitude to go through this again. If I try them again and have a good experience I will update this review accordingly. read more

I had food poison for the past 3 days after eating their sushi. Hope others don't get it.

Ordered a meal on Uber eats and the sushi had pieces of plastic inside the rolls. The first time I ate here the food was decent but underwhelming. If they allow plastic pieces inside the sushi who knows what else could go wrong read more

Best sushi around. Yummy roll great lunches clean amazing staff. Hot sake. You'll love it

We just moved to Riverdale from the city and we were nervous that we wouldn't get good sushi. We've ordered several times and are pretty happy with the quality, delivery time and prices. We always get free edamame and pineapple with our order. read more

Ordered for delivery and I regret it fully. I got this place mixed up with another sushi spot I have ordered from before. One of my items was missing, the shrimp tempura chef's special roll was gross, not fresh tasting at all and they are really cheap with the number of pieces it comes with. Wings weren't wings but tips in a onion/noodle stew, which was not in the description. I have ordered wings so many times from different places and never have I gotten my wings in a stew. Maybe because the wings were so bland they thought that by adding this stew to it it would make up for it? FAIL. The next morning my stomach made me regret even eating a bite of this food. Highly suggest odering from anywhere else read more

Food was ALRIGHT. I've worked at a Japanese restaurant for 4yrs to understand if food is fresh/not. Delivery Ordered Chicken teriyaki lunch special and Spicy yellowtail roll. Chicken tasted very rubbery. Ate one bite and threw the rest in the trash. The roll was not bad. Maybe it was delivery and that's why the food wasn't decent. Now would I order from here again? Only if I'm craving sushi rolls really bad, otherwise nope. Price is not bad. read more

We have gotten takeout here a few times when visiting my Dad nearby. Call 20-30 minutes ahead as they are busy for lunchtime. Very fresh sushi, sashimi and chirashi. Bento box with fried shrimp was very generous. In fact we definitely ordered too much food but we enjoyed the leftovers later of tofu and salad and fruits. Healthy and delicious! Thank you. read more

I absolutely love this place! Always delivers fresh and delicious food. Great portions for the Dinner Bentos and awesome sushi.

Tokyo House isn't very attractive from the exterior, but it is a nice surprise once inside. The atmosphere is simple but nice. Seating is ample, decor is authentic, music is relaxing, and unlike many Japanese restaurants the sushi bar is actually inviting to sit at. Service isn't perfect, but it's what you expect from a sushi bar. Now what you really care about, the food. This shouldn't be anyone's favorite sushi bar that they're taking out-of-owners to when they come to visit. But it's a solid backup or go-to if you live or work nearby. And it's worth stopping at if you're passing through. The fish is surprisingly fresh for a less extravagant sushi restaurant. I could tell it was fresh just by looking at the sushi bar display case, so I tried the "sushi lunch", which is 5 assorted nigiri and a California roll for $10. I wasn't disappointed. Miso soup, salad, green tea, ginger and wasabi were all ok. There was nothing to complain about OR to write home about. Avocado was fresh/ripe. My glass stayed full. My wallet stayed intact. And I imagine I will have a decent rest of the workday thanks to a satisfying and relaxing lunch experience. read more
