Food - serving was generous and plating creative and vibrant. Overall, the Dinner Bento Teriyaki box was quite good, our favourite were the tempuras, gyoza and sushi. We ordered teriyaki, so sweetness was anticipated but it was way too sweet for our liking. The Agedashi tofu was OK; wish they used soft tofu instead of firm and wish it sat on a bed of soy sauce and tuna flakes like many authentic Japanese restaurants. Ambiance - the building seems older but there is plenty of seating. We got a booth that we sort of liked but were bothered by so many delivery/pick-up services folks who were standing right outside the entrance of our booth. Didn't want to make a fuss so we focused on eating, paying for our meal and then leaving. The best part of our experience was the Asahi beer! Paid about $70 for food, drinks and tip for 2 people. The staff were friendly and did come and check up on us twice during our meal. read more

Ordered over $100 worth of food via Skip. The food was basic with little or no skill involved. The fish was not the freshest with some pieces distinctly fishy smelling & tasting. This shouldn't be the case with fresh food quality fish. The tempura batter was not light & did not really coat the different pieces very well. By the time I got it, it was very soggy and mushy. I had to revive it in an air fryer. The free springs rolls? I'm glad they were free as they're cheap tasting & completely soggy as they were doused in a sweet spicy sauce that soaked into the skin making for a sticky yet soggy spring roll. I really have nothing good to say about what I experienced here. read more

I find it hard to be grossly disappointed with a sushi restaurants from my hundred plus reviews but Tokyo sushi in Langley was an impressively disappointing experience. Take a look at my Gomae serving for a example of how disrespectful my customer experience was. The establishment is orderly and clean and the staff greated us at the door. We were quickly served and the food was great, very tasty.

Nice ambience - soon as you step inside you get welcomed with friendly hosts and it wasn't that busy as we went for lunch on a weekday so we got to pick the inside booths - which is a nice private seating area . We ordered miso soup and gomae to start with and this has been the most fanciest gomae I've had, presented beautifully although half way eating it , I choked quite badly on it as the spinach was left in long strands and not chopped up in pieces .In their defence, it was quite tasty . Miso soup was very delicious with bites of tofu and green onions. We ordered bunch of rolls - Dynamite , spicy crunchy rolls and from their specialty rolls - Pillow rolls . Dynamite was nothing exceptional , just kind of big. But the spicy crunchy rolls and pillow rolls were just amazing . They lose one star from me cuz the cups they served tea in were broken from all sides and I felt that was unhygienic . Overall a good experience ! read more

I ordered sushi and noticed that the California roll and the dynamite roll smelled "sour" I think maybe the crab meat was spoiled. Anyways I tossed it immediately since it was late I decided the next day I would do a courtesy call however, I was informed by the lady who answered that "there was no way they served spoiled crab meat" I informed her that it definitely was spoiled I could smell the sour foul smell to it and I wasn't wanting my money back but wanted her informed as I have been a long time customer and loyal customer. Long story short she was abrupt and rude saying "no way meat is spoiled" she started to argue and I hung up. So for these reasons I will give it one star along with them losing my family as customers. read more

Best sushi place in langley....or at least tied. My gf loves their yaki-udon and i love their generous pcs of sashimi. Everything tastes fresh. The sunomono, miso soup, tempura and salmon/tuna maki were all very good. Well executed. Service is good and they are very accommodating to special requests. We go out of our way a little to come here often. Its worth it. (Prices are reasonable too!). I've referred this to many of my friends around Langley and they all agree it's a solid sushi solution. read more

Ordered an avocado roll, it came fairly quick, but it was not the best avocado roll I've had. It was a pleasant meal for its price, however, Tokyo Hon Sushi would not be somewhere I would get out of bed for. Horrible! My friend and I stopped for lunch and both had the teriyaki bento box. The teriyaki was swimming in water and the tempura was super greasy. We both felt ill after for several hours. What confused us was how the place was empty but the food was barely lukewarm, in fact the rice had a crust on it as if it had been sitting out for a while. We always see a lot of cars parked out front but obviously because of the neighboring businesses. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I have consistently great quality food here, and the service is always prompt and polite. Great tasting fresh sushi, and although a couple of the reviews say the tempura is greasy, I've never experienced that, and I come here often. By far my favourite sushi place!! I have never ordered something I didnt like, and their prices are great considering how huge their rolls are! Like the food here. We ordered 2 rolls which were fried. The food came out beautifully decorated. We ordered tempura and they were crispy enough, yummmm. We will be back for sure. The sushi here is really good. I love the red dragon roll, the hot crunchy roll and the salmon avocado roll with cream cheese. They are usually pretty quick except if it's really busy. There is an awesome lunch special too with a roll, a choice of tempura etc and miso soup for $11. Definitely recommend it read more

The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. The food taste good too, although sometimes the wait is long. Their servings are big, especially the bento lunch boxes so good deal for the money. I thought I had reviewed this place before but I guess not. They have changed slightly over the years and are now at a pretty good place. We like going for lunch because of the lunch specials but have enjoyed dinner here too. On this trip, 3 of us went. I had a house green salad which has a soy sauce and ginger based dressing - my wife liked it enough to probe for a recipe. I also got a volcano roll which is good. My wife had a bento box with the usual beef teriyaki, California rolls, tempura, salad, and miso ... very good portion for the price. Finally, my son had the special roll lunch special (I had this the week before but I guess it didn't really sink in as to what I got ...). For $12, you get miso, salad, chicken teriyaki, and a full roll. The full roll being a crazy roll, Alaska roll, crispy roll (can't remember the other selections). Overall, it is a lot of good quality food and an awesome deal. What topped things off was that the service was excellent- my tea cup was filled several times. It had dropped down my sushi places "go-to", but now has risen back up to my top 3 again! read more

Very hit and miss for the standard rolls. Some days will be good while other days your rolls will be mostly cucumber/avocado/filler. This was acceptable when the price was lower - but with the recent increase, the lack of consistency is tough to swallow. Higher end meals tend to be made better. read more
