Today was my first time visiting Float30 after hearing so many of my friends talk about how great…read moreit is--and it definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered the Float30 Seafood Chowder, which was rich, creamy and filled with clams, smoked mussels, salmon, snapper, prawns, bacon, corn, red pepper and potatoes. It was served with grilled sourdough and was absolutely fresh and delicious! My friend ordered the bestselling West Coast Link Cod & Chips. The cod had a wonderfully light and crispy tempura-style batter and came with house-cut fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. She really enjoyed it! We also had the Strawberry Mojito mocktails, which made us feel as though we were relaxing somewhere in Mexico. They were soooo good and incredibly refreshing! The waitstaff were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, which made our first visit even more enjoyable. We loved everything so much that, before leaving, I ordered another seafood chowder to take home for my husband, as well as the Link Cod & Chips for my son! A wonderful first experience at Float30. I'll definitely be returning and highly recommend it!

The Lychee Rose Spritz was so good--light, refreshing, and the perfect drink to enjoy with seafood. We really loved it! We have been regular customers of Henry's Kitchen since 2018. We have found that over the last…read morecouple of years the prices have increased substantially. However, we really enjoy the food and coziness of the room so we have continued to make Henry's one of our regular dining experiences. We were going to make reservations for later this month when I noticed a line on their website saying that a 20% gratuity had been added to the bill. I thought that maybe it was a line that had been added on because of New Year's Eve or at that the prices on the menu now reflected the 20% gratuity and no further tipping would be required. My husband sent an email to Henry's asking them to clarify what the policy was. We received a response from Jasmine "20% will be add on. It does not refer only to groups but also to each individual consumer". Sadly, we will not be going to Henry's anymore. The food is very good but the prices are already very high. We were at a Seasons in the Park last night. Their prices are less than Henry's. The setting is nicer, service was outstanding and food is very bit as good as Henry's.

It was amazing we could find and eat such delicious pasta in Port Moody. This hidden French and…read moreItalian pasta restaurant located on St. John's Street has street parking. We walked into the restaurant without any customers. A server seated us right away. Her service was great knowing that it was our first time to eat here and letting us know what was special and what we should try. We ordered mussels with white wine, tomatoes and herbs as appetizers and our main dishes were Penne Alfredo and Linguine Pescatora. Penne Alfredo was just a simple dish of penne with white creamy sauce and Parmesan cheese, but OMG! It was extraordinarily delicious! Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh (not frozen ones) and the texture of linguine was firm and chewy. Everything was irresistible. We would love to visit this restaurant and try other dishes in the near future. It was worth a trip to come all the way to Port Moody and eat the pasta here. (This pasta restaurant was originally located in Vancouver West.).

My wife and I specifically said we were looking for a noodle and rice dish. We ordered the Michelin-star chow mein, expecting a traditional stir-fried noodle dish. Unfortunately, no one explained that it was actually crispy noodles served with a milk-based sauce. It was completely different from what we expected and had very little flavor. A brief explanation from the staff would have helped us choose something else. The chicken feet also had a noticeable gamey flavor that wasn't to our liking. The mushroom truffle dumplings were decent but didn't stand out. The bright spots of the meal were the fried rice and the garlic prawns--both were flavorful and well prepared. Overall, the experience was mixed. There are definitely some good dishes here, but the lack of communication about the menu left us disappointed. Better descriptions and recommendations from the staff would go a long way in helping guests know what they're ordering.

Bow & Stern - Happy Hour

Visited Bow and Stern twice over the last month for lunch and their happy hour. In both visits the…read moreservice was very friendly and I was surprised to see how quiet they were. For lunch we tried their steak and fries, seafood linguini, calamari, white wine mussels. Considering it is a seafood based restaurant I'd probably would skip the steak and fries next time as the meat was a bit chewy. Favourites was the calamari and mussels for sure! Flavourful and good portions. For happy hour I had the half order of Thai green curry mussels and baja fish taco. Compared to the white wine sauce I enjoyed the Thai green curry and was glad the waiter introduced me to it! Baja fish taco was great too and was nice v to find out they have flour or corn tortilla options. Would definitely come again for happy hour!

When we arrived, the window side section was almost fully packed, and even the bar was filled with several people enjoying oysters. We were lucky to snag the last window seat! Their booth seats were super comfortable, once I sat down, I didn't even want to get up. We started off by ordering a dozen oysters, a fish taco, and an à la carte pasta. The oysters were very fresh and delicious, but about half of them had small shell bits inside. I wondered if the shucker was having an off day and struggling to open them, which ended up leaving all those shell fragments. Luckily, the second dozen we ordered later was perfect and didn't have that issue. The fish taco was smaller than I expected, even at the Happy Hour price, I still felt it was a bit overpriced. The pasta was pretty average, it was regular dinner price, so I guess that's to be expected. I'm not sure if I'll come back again, but overall the food was good, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was really nice.

I knew it was in the same Plaza as Hannam supermarket but did not connect it was in a mall/ Plaza space. It wasn't an open seating where you can see all the people dining , they put up semi tall walls to " close it up " a bit more. They has a qr code to scan for the menu and also hard copy menus. For the holiday season they had printed paper with their logo in festive theme - a nice personal touch! There is plenty of parking in the plaza lot. We ordered the steamed dumplings and spicy stir fried squid/pork belly platter which the latter came with 5 rice balls and soybean soup. There were of course Korean side dishes and they were yummy ( braised potatoes, kimchi and soybean sprouts). The potato side dishe was not as braised abd sweet as I liked them but palatable. The spicy stir fried was ordered as mild but I would say the spice level was spicier than what I expected. It has a deep spice that built in the back of your throat. The squid was perfect chewy, pork thinner sliced and the flavour was so delicious. The rice balls had a even seasoning and a nice hint of sesame oil. The soup was standard but flavourful and comforting for the cold weather. The steamed dumplings were packed with a good amount of meat filling though I wished they had a pan fried version as that is just my preference. It was relatively quiet and good for conversation even though there was a steady flow of other customers -likely because it had higher ceilings. At the end of eating , a staff member came out with the bill and two yakult drinks ! What a nice surprise and a nice treat to round off the meal. I had enough for leftovers for two more small meals and I would say each time I ate it , the flavour was better and better !! Added my own rice and proteins to the remaining sauce and it was a meal I looked forward to each time. Already thinking about going back again soon! Decent pricing for amount of food and i was satisfied at the end of eating. I saw the kimchi pancake brought to another table and it looked extra THICK and fluffy( at least 2 inches tall!), might try it next time!
