We were a little surprised at how slow customer wise it was on a Friday night. Menu consists of Fried Chicken, Sandwiches, sides, and other items. I ordered the three Chicken Tenders combo, with Fries and Baked Mac & Cheese. Our groups order took some time to be completed as everything was fresh. The Chicken Tenders were big enough that I had to take one home. The side of fries was large and the Baked Mac & Cheese was pretty good. My one friend wasn't a fan of the Homestyle Mashed Potatoes; another was a big fan of the size of the Potato Salad. The biscuits were flakey and delicious. Mama's serves Coke products. Overall, when ordering here, don't over order or you'll be needing a to go bag. I would return here to dine again.

Until I went to Happy Ending I had given up on finding good wings in Fburg and was making them at home (but so messy). They have a few sauces but I only do hot and they were delicious. Also the pickle chips were on point. Will be a repeat customer.

The…read morerestaurant is on ground level, but the front door is heavy, which could be difficult for anyone using a wheelchair, walker, or cane. The same can be said for the bathroom door. However, it is very clean and well‑stocked. No baby changing table. The counter is right in the front as you walk in. We arrived around 4:30 PM, the place was empty, but by the time we left at 6:05 PM, four or five customers had come in, all ordering takeout. Two employees were working. Both were friendly and smiling, but service is strictly counter‑based. Restaurant seating is limited, 10 tables total. Drinks are refrigerated bottles and cans; there's no fountain drinks, cups, or ice. I personally found this very strange. The food is the highlight of Southern Style Chicken & Waffles . The chicken is served piping hot, and the fries are perfectly crispy. One important note: you can't order mixed chicken. It's either white meat or dark meat, so I had to order both platters and my father and I switched chicken around to get what we wanted. Meals come with one side, and extras are $4.99 each. Chicken orders start at three pieces, no smaller portions available. As for sides, the mac & cheese wasn't my favorite, though other's , including the guy, selling it, seemed to think it was great. My dad found the coleslaw just "so‑so" and said he would not order it again. Ratings: * Chicken: A+ * French fries: A+ * Mac & cheese: B‑ * Coleslaw: C+ Overall, the chicken and fries are excellent, and I plan to return to try their catfish, whiting and waffles, which I've heard are all very good. I gave it a four because of the lack of ice and cups and also due to the difficulty getting into the Restaraunt and the bathroom for those with mobility issues.

The onion rings are large and seem to have a funnel cake coating! Crispy and well fried. The French toast is thick and fluffy and the bread density is amazing! My daughter also enjoyed the bagel and cream cheese... The BLT is filled with beautiful pieces of ham and turkey... it's so hearty! The staff was VERY friendly, and the food was excellent. It was bar food (a burger and a sandwich), but it may have been the best bar food that I've ever had. Even the sides were amazing. The onion rings were real onion rings, and the fries were something I'd never seen before. They were sort of fresh potato chips and sort of french fries. They were very interesting. They did have a few true entrees on the daily specials menu. Even though it was downtown AND there was an arts festival going on less than a block away, there was on-street parking available less than a block away. The only negative that I can think of is that it is kind of loud inside. The acoustics in that old building don't absorb any sound, so they might do well to put up some sound absorption. But even though it was a bit loud and crowded with people from the arts festival (a lot of people had wristbands on), at 5:30pm on a Saturday night it wasn't really a "bar crowd", so it was still a welcoming atmosphere. All age groups were there, and everyone was in a good mood.

My boyfriend had the Shepards pie. (He is never very responsive with food but he raved about this to the point that we asked to talk to the kitchen.) It was hearty and flavorful. Really yummy beef gravy on top. l love Brussel sprouts and these had sweet Thai chili sauce and bacon bits (a house made recipe). I could have made that my entire meal. The brownie sundae was super moist as well. During the meal, it was a really good portion amount (at first I thought it was small) but it was spot on. Value: Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the "make it a meal" add-on (fries and a drink for $4.99) is a good deal. I also like that they advertise "fresh, never frozen" chicken, and the menu notes it's halal and hormone-free.
