True Northern Hospitality! A warm welcome, "What can I get for you, Sugar" attitude…read more It's one of the most welcoming restaurants I've ever been to. The older woman who took care of us gave us the service you would expect from going to grandmas house. It was wonderful, I miss it! The food was what you would expect. Typical diner food, but with a home cooked feel. I remember getting pancakes and bacon. It taste like home.

The place was busy and when a table is available, you seat yourself. Service was very friendly and attentive. Reason for 4th star. Worth stopping when in the area and will return, next trip to the outlets. Just no lemonade or turkey dinner! Private parking, large lot. Milk shakes oh my. Unique menu, with interesting toppings. Vanilla milk shake was excellent. Stay away from their lemonade. Very disappointed. Pepsi machine and tasted poorly. TURKEY DINNER WAS JUST OK. SIDE Salad came with the dinner. Very fresh. Next trip getting their Julienne Salad. Looked amazing. Roast Turkey Dinner - Just like Thanksgiving, Not! Oven roasted turkey breast with our homemade stuffing (don't think it was) & gravy (so, so) over it all. Served with cranberry sauce 15.99. French Fries were very good. Fried Clams - Deep fried to perfection, on a bed of lettuce served with our cocktail or tartar sauce 16.9 Was large and very good. Chicken Caesar Salad - Chilled romaine tossed with caesar dressing, parmesan cheese, croutons and topped with grilled chicken 13.99 Was extra yummy.

The beige cement building was the site of Zim's Place-The Village Diner until 2008. It was "a mess" when Jeff took it over, he said. Fresh off running the Cato Family Diner and the restaurant at Hickory Hill Golf Course in his native Baldwinsville, he spent about five months renovating the abandoned space. Along with new infrastructure, it has a new but classic red and white checkerboard floor. Wife and I have passed by this diner hundreds of times, and finally decided to go one morning when we wanted breakfast. Small place, but we were sat immediately and had a server at our table with menus. Menu is bigger than expected, and I went with the meat lovers breakfast sandwich - eggs, bacon, ham and sausage on Texas toast - with home fries and my wife got a pancake platter with bacon and eggs. Everything was brought out quickly. The sandwich was not exactly what I expected, but was good. The menu described it as "piled high", so I had slices of ham, bacon and sausage stacked on top of each other in my head, but it was chopped up pieces of each scrambled into an egg. Home fries were good and wife had no complaints about hers. Prices are great, I think our bill was less than $20. Service was friendly. It's a decent place to go if you want simple, straight forward food for a good price.

There was live music in the back room, so we opted for a booth in the front room so we could have quiet dinner conversation. Alisha was great. She explained the menu, the Mac & cheese, and the dairy bar in the adjacent bldg. We ordered dinner and it was out quickly. Hubby had the entree of brisket & pulled pork with a side of veggies and the Mac & cheese. The Mac & Cheese is so, so good. We ordered some to take home for my son! My balsamic chicken entree was delicious - I loved the side of carrots & zucchini- very fresh & unique! Great dinner, no hesitation to come back here. And, we did have to wander over to the dairy bar and check out the ice cream too! On the way, we noticed lots of outdoor seating and maybe a little stage too. There is live music regularly! Hubby got a shake & I had a dish of hard ice cream. It hit the spot! Thanks so much!

The one lady who was cooking and serving was doing a great job, and we felt welcomed in and attended to right away. We had some trouble deciding what to have, as a lot of things on the menu sounded good, but it was unfortunately not to be. I ordered the breakfast garbage plate, which had hash browns, sausage gravy and two eggs (cooked medium). I added the house made hot sausage for $5.65 and got 1 approximately 4 oz sausage. The hash browns were fine, nothing special, and the sausage gravy was woefully lacking in flavor except for salt. The eggs were a little overcooked, but that's my fault...or the fault of breakfast cooks all over the country who don't do over easy eggs properly. I order over medium cuz I hate when the white isn't cooked. These were definitely cooked. The sausage was not good. It was sweet on the palate...like way sweet. It didn't taste much of sausage flavor, and there was a hit of heat on the finish. My sister had the sausage gravy & biscuit and she said the same thing about the gravy. I wish it was a better result-I'd love to give business to a local place that had good food.
