I have never been treated this well by a dental office, and I've had some pretty darn good dentists. The entire office was so helpful, and Dr. Loftin was phenomenal. They all know what they're doing, and they helped educate me about proper dental care and treatment options. Jamie was so sweet and very informed while cleaning my teeth, and Rhonda was FANTASTIC when explaining treatment options. She took the time to go over all of my questions, and didn't make me feel like she was trying to rush me out. From fantastic dental care and state of the art equipment, to excellent customer service, to a clean and friendly atmosphere, this place will exceed your expectations. I can't say enough good things about this great office. What a lovely group of professionals! UPDATE: I had originally left this glowing review and gave five stars. However, after paying my bill in full at my appointment, I later received a bill for more than double the price that was quoted. I called and was told they are unable to receive exact estimates from my insurance company, so they guessed. This didn't sound right at all, so I begrudgingly paid my bill and updated my Yelp review to three stars... UPDATE: I just got a call from Dr. Loftin's office. They read this review and wanted to follow up. They were wonderful. Turns out my insurance plan is uniquely shitty in a way that they don't usually encounter. They resolved the billing mix-up and took the time to explain the whole process to me. I was tempted to just delete all the updates and leave my original great review, but I actually think it's more impressive to earn five stars after a mistake. They handled it beautifully- they called me to hear my point of view, they gave me all the information I needed, they sincerely apologized, and they took steps to ensure this won't happen to me or another patient again. They even sent a really sweet handwritten card. I really can't ask for anything else and I'm very impressed. They made it right. Best Dentist Ever! Dr. Loftin is great! I just can't say enough good things about him! He is not only an extremely nice guy, but is clearly incredibly talent at what he does. I love that he explains what he is doing so you understand what going on in your own mouth and I didn't once say "ouch". Dr. Loftin is the kind of dentist that makes you comfortable and not afraid to come back. The entire staff creates this same feeling. I had to go to Dr. Loftin's office on Monday of this week (Thanksgiving) because I broke my front tooth out. I tried to have the Dr. Glue my tooth back in until the holiday was over. That idea was not going to work! Long story short- he was going to have to get a tooth added to my upper partial. I really needed my choppers back not only for Bird day, but we were ruining a perfectly good smile also. I left the Dr. Office hoping to get a call back before noon on Wednesday. Guess what folks, we were called @ 2:30 Monday afternoon , that's right I said Monday afternoon asking me to get back @ 4:30 MONDAY to get my teeth back. Everyone in Dr Loftin's office and his outside vender did an outstanding job getting me to my Turkey dinner with my now better than ever smile. Thank you all for such a great job. My crown broke off one night so Dr. Loftin's office managed to squeeze me in right away to get the problem resolved. The entire staff was wonderful and accommodating, from the front desk to the dental assistant and finally to Dr. Loftin himself, who's got such a personality and high rate of professionalism. I can't ask for a better dentist! I'm very pleased that Dr. Martin brought him in as he eases into retirement. I bet a lot of us patients couldn't be happier he selected the best possible candidate to lead the dental practice. Thanks a bunch, Dr. Loftin and co.! UPDATE (update posted on 4/25/15): So I'm modifying my rating of Dr. Loftin to 3 stars. Essentially he gets 5 stars for the quality of his work but 1 star on how the office is run. Here's my story: When I went to see Dr. Loftin last December, I was shocked when they demanded payment for out of pocket costs on my filling. This was done WITHOUT them billing my insurance first, which I consider to be very unorthodox. For my second filling, they once more requested payment without contacting my carrier and the amount was of course the estimated out of pocket balance. The problem with this second filling was their request was thirty dollars more than what I actually had to pay (that's why I'm glad I requested they bill me). Furthermore, their billing people put my mother and I on the same bill despite the fact we have separate insurance companies. I actually saw the list of services she received (and vice versa), which is a blatant violation of HIPPA privacy guidelines. I submitted a letter with complaints on this, as I don't believe it's appropriate to demand immediate payment for unreimbursed medical expenditures, especially when they hadn't even contacted my insurance company for payment. The people requesting payments at the front were also doing such in a harassment like tone. So at a recent appointment to get a custom made mouth guard, Dr. Loftin addressed my concerns and sadly insulted my intelligence rather than behave like a professional. First, he claimed that Dr. Martin implemented this policy of requesting immediate payments for out of pocket costs without contacting insurance (funny how, in the 20 years we were Dr. Martin's patients, as in my mother and I, we never were asked to pay anything just literally seconds after getting out of the chair) but "never really followed it", i.e. implying he did on a few occasions over the years (but somehow he didn't do that to us...riiiiiiiiiiiiight. For a two year span, my twin brother and I CONSTANTLY were at his office due to work on our braces. During that period, not once did Dr. Martin or his staff even utter "please pay this amount before you leave". Everything monetary wise was handled via mailed statements). He also claimed that, due to expensive overhead, they needed money right away rather than spend it on mailing out statements. I had no idea that mailings were that exorbitant (hint: they're not). The entire time he made these claims, he not once looked me in the face, i.e. an indication that he's lying (not that I ever believed him in the first place) and provided a public relations-esque apology. He also claimed that, if we wanted special arrangements made (such as to have statements mailed), they would do it. That should have been mentioned right away when he officially took over the practice upon Dr. Martin's complete retirement last August. I also looked at his billing policies...he charges $100 (instead of a typical figure, like $35) for broken appointments and they must be confirmed 48 hours beforehand rather than the typical 24 hours (a lot can happen in two days prior to a visit). It's clear he's all too concerned about the almighty dollar and I'm skeptical on if he's informed his patients about this policy. Dr. Loftin would have done much better had his apology been meaningful rather than nonchalant. It didn't assist him that he also treated me like a fool who would believe this malarkey on why he has such an inane billing method. After 20 years as a patient with both him and Dr. Martin, I'm switching. In my opinion, it takes a lot for a patient to depart a medical provider after two decades. These errors on his and his staff's part (more so just the billing personnel. He has fabulous RDAs, hygienists and his secretary, Lisa, is remarkable) aren't minute ones in my opinion but rather humongous. It's not a decision I made lightly, especially as Dr. Loftin is still in the end a great dentist. However, the office mechanisms, combined with his clear money hungry disposition, just are not something I want to have to deal with from this point onward. read more

After many years with another dentist whose office location had become less convenient to me, I made the 'big decision' (you know how resistant we all can be to leave a health care provider with whom we have a long history) in changing to look for a more local dentist. I found Dr. Loftin through his wife Zulay whom I met at a networking event and figured that if Dr. Loftin was close to as nice and professional as Zulay, I would give him a try. Dr. Loftin was really personable, positive, and engaging...even fun. So I scheduled a full exam including x-rays and cleaning. Every person on the Loftin Dental office staff was friendly and professional, from the scheduling of the appointment and during the new patient exam. This dental office has a very strong team of care providers all of whom were very attentive, made my visit comfortable and relaxed, and started and finished on-time. My husband and I live outside the country, but we were in town visiting my family and needed some last minute dental work. I was a patient of Dr. Martin's about a decade ago, so thought I would give Dr. Loftin a call on the off chance he could see us. Zulay bent over backwards to get both my husband and I in at the last minute. My husband got an appointment literally the day after I emailed (virtually unheard of in dentist's offices where you pretty much have to book months in advance). All staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming to us and made us. Dr. Loftin did an incredibly thorough job on my husband's fillings, taking his time to ensure that his bite felt comfortable. We were also assured that if there were any issues we could come right back and Dr. Loftin would fix it. We didn't need to as all was perfect.
