I was in a dilemma... My special needs kiddo recently had 4 teeth pulled from an oral surgeon out in Brentwood. My kiddo text me to tell me he lost his oral syringe at school. So to be resourceful and to keep from driving all the way out from Walnut Creek to Brentwood, I stopped in this office and asked if they could help me out - I was even willing to purchase a syringe from them. I told them I have surgery tomorrow and this was unexpected. I could even show them paperwork of his extractions. They walked in the back office, came back and told me no - they can't give "their" supplies. I thought they'd be understanding of my mommy dilemma since I have surgery tomorrow but they didn't. It was just a syringe. And to think that I debated leaving our Brentwood dentist and becoming a new patient of theirs for their kindness. Guess not. read more

I've been to Treat Dentistry a handful of times since i moved to Walnut Creek and have always had a good experience, until now. I am due for a teeth cleaning and have tried 3 separate times to call and make an appointment. They do not answer the phone and rather send an automated text message to communicate and schedule appointments, which i actually prefer. However, they are unresponsive. It's disappointing that the customer service is so poor, because their staff has always been pleasant. Unfortunately i will not be returning, but can't schedule even if i wanted to! read more

I had a horrible experience at this dentist's office and feel it's important to share. I went in for a simple filling with absolutely no issues or pain beforehand. The dentist who worked on me seemed inexperienced and unsure about the procedures the office performs. During the filling, they drilled far too close to the root of one of my teeth, which left me in severe pain afterward. I had to take painkillers, and for weeks I couldn't eat or drink anything even mildly hot or cold. I returned to the office to explain the pain, and instead of taking responsibility, they simply referred me to see an endodontist--then charged me for that follow-up visit. The endodontist confirmed that the filling had been drilled much deeper than necessary. To make matters worse, because the dental office charged me for multiple visits related to the same issue, my insurance ended up denying the endodontist consultation, and I had to pay out of pocket. In the end, I spent far more money than I ever expected, all because of their mistake. I endured weeks of unnecessary pain and may now need a root canal--again, due to the error made during that initial filling. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office. read more

Very horrible and depressing experience. I went 4 times to this place and 3 out of 4 times it's bad. I went last year for cleaning they said I have issues but can be fixed with root canal. I took half day went there they said no wrong diagnosis we need extraction. I was like not prepared. Cost is very unclear. They are like spa trying to sell you more treatment. I only did the cleaning which was good and went again now for tooth ache and cleaning. They were talking a lot but did not do any cleaning I again sat there for 2 hours for doctor to explain me other expensive options. Front desk is unorganized, lots of mixed messages on appt, treatment plan etc. I went to specialist to get second opinion which apparently is a huge mistake for this office. Dental is expensive but it's worth the expense for quality dentists and customer service. Don't go here at all. Spend your money and time else where and they are incompetent. read more

But I almost stopped going there because they tried to offer me unnecessary treatment a couple of years ago and their billing was over the top and sloppy, bordering on greediness. The worst dentist I ever been to. I have been coming to treat blvd dentist for only one reason their hygienist. She is amazing, caring, honest and she is just nice person. Everyone else needs big updates. Front desk will also wait till the last minute to notify you. The Doctors hand is shaking and she doesn't tell you in advance about the procedure and possible issues. Last time I visited her to filling and middle of the procedure she told me she doesn't do root canal and needs to refer me to specialist. You could tell me this. Because of this I had wait 3 weeks and suppose come back get crown. Guess what when I came back the crown was not fitting so they had to sent back and I had to comeback again!!!!. Now every time I drink carbonated drinks I feel like bubble popping inside my crown and there is gap in between my crown and tooth. I am done with this place. read more

Zero stars if I could- I went in for a cleaning and filling for tooth sensitivity but the dental hygienist explained that i had an urgent need for a crown and asked I had the time to do it. I said yes and Dr Gavan agreed to do it. Initially things were going fine. He had no assistant but was using a device to hold down my tongue and suction as well. Halfway though, an assistant (Sophia) came in asking if he needed help and he said yes. He left the room on a few occasions and the assistant did not acknowledge my presence. She stood behind me where I couldn't see her unless I turned my head and was on her phone for at least part of the time. When the dentist came back in she was asked to hold my tongue back with the mirror and she did so unsuccessfully as the drill cut my mouth. I immediately knew something was wrong as the dentist abruptly left (my mouth was numb at this point so I couldn't feel any pain). Sophia remained hidden behind me, not saying a word and I asked her if something happened. She responded "no. everything is totally fine" and continued to ignore me as my mouth filled w saliva and what I imagine was blood which I ended up swallowing since I was not receiving any help. Dr Gavan then came back to let me know that there was an accident and that he would need to stitch it up. After the stitches were complete, Dr Gavan spent some time putting cord around my tooth which Sophia accidentally suctioned up. In total, I spent about 2.5 hrs in the chair. Following this appointment, I was left in a lot of pain from both the cut and the crown. I requested a refund and Dr Gavan was nice enough to refund me for what I paid out of pocket but now I'm left going to a different dentist to complete the crown work with insurance covering none of it. I will not be returning to this dental office and neither are my husband and friends. Sophia's chairside manner is terrible. I understand that accidents happen but it's important to not lie to your patients and do your best to make them feel comfortable when a mistake has been made. I also asked her for Dr Gavan's email address so I could make this report directly but she declined so I'm putting this out here instead. read more

Choosing a dentist can be anxiety-inducing. I came across this with my insurance and checked Yelp and other reviews. I called for an appointment and was accommodated fairly quickly. I showed up for my appointment and the dental hygenist was super thorough with my initial X-rays and cleaning. Dr. Sood then came to do the final check and any concerns I had. My minor concern is that I have a tooth that I had work done on almost 25+ years ago in elementary school and needed to match everything else. Dr. Sood also indicated I had fillings that needed to be fixed. I was scheduled for my next appointments with the first available a couple days later. I showed up for my fillings and minor dental work and was out in 30 minutes. Everything from start to end was super fast and super thorough. Everyone in the practice is very nice and good at their jobs, and the place is always spotless. I highly recommend Jessica, the best hygienist I've ever met. This company is money hungry and is very shady with their billing practices. They kept "submitting to our insurance company" for the services and when they were denied they sent a bill with no information (just a single line with the balance) on 11/8. Then they sent a Final Notice a month later stating our bill was more than 90 days past due and we would be taken to collections if not paid in 10 days from the date of the letter. Every time we went in for an appointment we made sure to pay any balance from previous treatments. I'm not angry I have a balance to pay, I'm angry that I am being threatened with collections when I received the bill a month ago and never had an issue with payments when I was a patient. read more

I had a root canal done last year at Treat Boulevard Dentistry almost a year later the tooth abscessed I had to go to a specialist for two-part treatment because Treat Boulevard Dentistry only took out half the root. I explained the situation to Treat Boulevard Dentistry and gave them permission to discuss why it had to be retreated with the new dentist. They refused to refund any of it and told me I would have to take it up with my insurance even though I paid a large amount out-of-pocket for the original root canal and another 1400 for the retreat. read more

My visit was fine, office was OK. My husband who has always had great dental health was told by his hygienist (and Dr confirmed) that he needed periodontal scaling due to deep pockets throughout - #s were called out as many 6mm 8mm readings. We were both a little shocked as it had only been maybe 9-10 mos since his last dental appt and all prior perio screening were healthy. We decided to get a second opinion to confirm. Not surprised but first one graded him as healthy and clinic was confused how 6mm to 8mm readings were made. Opted to have one more opinion w same result - healthy perio screening. Needless to say, we almost paid some decent $$ for unnecessary perio work. I used to work in dentistry and have never heard of such HUGE discrepancies in perio charting #s. Concerning to say the least but happy we trusted our gut and had 2 other Drs feedback before changing offices. Whew! Be careful out there! read more

I've been coming here for the last year. Upon arrival, I was informed I needed some old fillings taken out and crowns put it. My prior dentist of 6 years, who I saw twice a year, never mentioned it. So, not real pleased with him, but I digress. The team here has been very helpful through the treatment process. I have been a patient with Treat blvd Dentistry for 14yrs. I just met the new doctor Dr Sood. So far so good. The hygienist staff Liz, Jessica, Lucy, have given me the best service, I have hypersensitive to my lower front teeth, they all do their best to keep from feeling the (shock) from the cleaning process with my type of sensitivity. I have never had to wait longer than 5 mins from my appointment time. I have often had to change my appointments and the front desk staff Karla(I have known from the beginning) always accommodates my request. Today I called in to come in earlier than my appointment time, no problem, I saw Dr Sood an hour early. My treatment experience has ranged from general cleaning to whitening, to some minor dental health work. I look forward to all my appointments. read more
