I have known Dr. Matin for over 25 years. Our daughters went to school together and when we were in need of a dentist I found out she was a dentist. Over the years she has taken care of our entire family. There were some emergency situations where we needed to be seen outside of normal hours and she has come in to help us out. If it was beyond her scope, she would at least make it so that we could make it to when the specialist could take care of it. It was my first visit at Dr. Matin's office yesterday. Excellent supporting staff! the doctor. I really like Dr. Matin. She is very professional, yet warm and friendly. I am 61, and I do believe that her office gave me the most thorough exam I have ever received. I braced myself as I have had a lot of dental work performed, and I assumed she would have all kinds of things that she would want to do! She is full of sound advice, and does not strike me as a dentist that tries to oversell you, or perform dental work in advance of your need to have it done. I highly recommend her! Dr. Bita Matin-Incompetent treatment: I needed to have my partial denture altered because a tooth had to be removed. During my visit prior to having my denture altered Dr. Matin ground a deep horizontal grove on the back side of one of my front teeth, I asked her why this is necessary, she said that the new denture will need to rest on the grove. After the lab returned the denture I returned to Dr Matin's office. Dr. Matin examined how my new denture was fitting and remarked that the denture was a good fit and there were not any problems. I also thought the denture was fitting well. After leaving her office I could feel with my tongue that the denture did not come anywhere close to the grove. When I arrive home I could see with a mirror that the grove Dr. Matin ground into my tooth was completely unnecessary. The denture did not rest on the grove as Dr Matin told me it would. Why did she not notice this during the examination. Or maybe she did but just didn't care that she ground a deep grove into my tooth for no reason. I called Dr Matin and explained the situation with the grove she ground into my tooth, she did not take any responsibility for her actions but blamed the lab for the grove in my tooth. The lab did not grind a grove into my tooth Dr. Matin did. The denture fits great so the lab did their job well and obliviously did not require the grove for the denture to rest on. I now have a deep grove in one of my teeth and some pain. At a minimum any doctor should not cause any harm. I feel the grove Dr. Matin ground into my tooth constitutes harm. I found a new dentist. read more
