After the first surgery, I developed a severe twitch in my right eye that I never had before. During a follow-up procedure, Dr. Joseph repeatedly yelled at me to stop my eye from twitching. That's extremely difficult to do, especially when the twitching started after the initial surgery. I felt the doctors were very unprofessional and dismissive of my concerns. This has been a stressful and disappointing experience, and I sincerely hope my eyes are not permanently damaged. I would not recommend going here.

I have tried to visit him for check…read moreups every year that I've lived in DFW and I am never disappointed in the quality of care and service provided by the doctor or anyone on his team. When my procedure was first done, the recovery time for the eye on which he did Lasik felt like no time at all. After decades of glasses and contacts, I was able to open my eyes when I woke up in the morning and be able to see clearly and not chastise myself for sleeping in my contacts. The PRK-eye had a longer recovery time, but even after all these years, my vision has not deteriorated and I have not experienced any issues or side effects from the procedure or the care I've received since then. Anytime a glasses-wearer I know tells me they are contemplating Lasik, I always recommend Dr. Mazaheri. I believe in the quality of his care but also the comfort of being able to go back to the same doctor who performed the surgery, who can remember me even after years of living out of state. I know others who went to other Lasik centers and never saw the same doctor twice. I want my doctor to know me and know my vision history and to be supportive of maintaining my eye health and the excellent outcome of his surgical work.

(Surgery date…read more- May 2021) The knowledge and experience Dr. Mazaheri exhibits is expansive and reassuring, especially to people like me who have (had) a heavy eye glass prescription (-9.25 and -11). I went in as a borderline unsuitable candidate for PRK and he was confident I could get near perfect vision. No one should promise you perfect vision as every case is different, and eyes react to surgery differently. But the hope always remains for perfect vision, and, in most cases, people do reach 20/20 or better with PRK and LASIK. I was completely expecting to leave with a light prescription, and I was fine with that because the correction was so huge. My main goal was to stop wearing coke bottle glasses! I will have to wear driving glasses at some point, but that's it. I'm not using them now as I'm still in the recovery phase which can last a few more months. My vision ended up being around 20/25 after 5 months, which is suitable to me. It continues to get better as I heal. I still need reading glasses (LASIK cannot solve this as a whole) as nearly everyone over 45 needs them, however I was surprised that my reading glasses magnification level went down as well, which is a relief. That was a nice surprise. Dr. M. also caught some potential problems with my eyes that other yearly optometrist appointments missed, so I'm happily following up on that with a retina specialist. Dr. Mazerheri is very thorough, and on my surgery day, we checked my vision (to get the right numbers into the computer), no less than 4 times on different machines. The staff prepped me well for recovery over the weekend after the surgery and I never had any questions because they left anything out. The staff is super nice, accommodating, and they have their office running like a well-oiled machine. The only thing I disliked about the entire experience has nothing to do with Dr. M. The building his office is in has a couple issues (Campbell office). The doors are VERY heavy, and elderly people can have difficulty opening them. The building owner needs to put a couple thousand into updating and fixing the women's restroom because it had badly torn wallpaper and the toilets rocked.

As someone who works within the medical field (optometric/ophthalmic field specifically), I don't…read morethink I've ever been this disappointed in a medical staff as I have with this specific KE center. I have multiple family members who have had procedures done here, so I'm sure the doctors do a fine job. My issue isn't with the doctors - it's with the front office staff. The inability to get a singular paper filled out and signed and returned in an appropriate time is actually ridiculous. To tell me to go over to the LASIK department when not a single soul was there and then lie to my face about a doctor being gone and JUST conveniently returning from his vacation on a Thursday before Labor Day weekend is actually insane for a lead supervisor. To send a "completed form" back where words were inadequately covered by white out tape and the doctor's name being misspelled is quite frustrating. For me to return and explain that I need this form filled out and told "we'll get it to you by the end of the day" just to not get it by the end of the day is wild. For me to have to come back after Labor Day and get scoffed at as I walked in to inquire about a form that should've taken no more than a week to be completed and returned, I was already out of patience with the lead supervisor and the staff. She told me "the person in charge of these special paperwork was not in office on Friday." She said "the doctor isn't at this office today." I ended up driving to the Southlake location where the doctor was working in order to get a signature for a simple form that needed to be turned in ASAP on my end but it got dragged out since August 15th when the form was first given to KE-Arlington. I wasted so much time over a form that should've taken 2 minutes to fill out and 2 seconds for the overseeing doctor to sign. Something that should've been returned within the day, or at the very least by the end of the week when the form was given. Now their staff probably thinks I'm a difficult and crazy person, but in reality, they pushed me to become this nasty person.

Upon checking in for our appointment, we were asked for ID. We provided an expired Driver License and copy of the Insurance Card. Without regard for the disabled senior I was bringing to the doctor, we were told the appointment would have to be rescheduled. They would not permit me to bring ID later, nor would they accept a SS card as ID or any other documents we had. No prior instruction was given to bring any ID with us. And they were inflexible and rude about enforcing their decision. After going there for many years, I will no longer recommend them.

To my surprise, Dr. Mazaheri called me and spoke to me for about 30 minutes. THE ACTUAL SURGEON CALLED ME!!! I went in for my initial consultation. Everyone was so friendly. The office manager spent about 20 minutes with me and explained everything. Dr. Mazaheri then came in and spoke with me for quite a while. The customer service was amazing. Every member of the staff was so informative. I had called around to many LASIK practitioners. I did my research. I decided to go with the flapless LASIK. My appointment was scheduled for 11/8/19. The procedure was painless and quick! The doctor checked , double checked, and triple checked everything. At no time did I experience any pain or anxiety. The doctor worked on my right eye first. He moved me from under the laser, and I could see!!!!! For the first time since I'm 41 years, I could see with out corrective lenses!!!! I immediately told him to do the left eye!!! It was AMAZING! I went home with extremely detailed instructions for after-care. Nothing was overlooked. I went in the next day for a quick check. I had followed directions explicitly. I experience NO PAIN! My vision improved more each day. I was watching TV without glasses!!!! I am in heaven. 5 days after surgery, I went to my appointment where the doctor removed the protective contact lenses. I would like to share my story and background if my history relates to other prospects considering the PRK procedure. I am a 40-year-old male, and before my surgery, my prescription was -4.25/-4.50 with a slight/mild astigmatism in both eyes. I started needing glasses at the age of 12 and I was in contacts by 13. About 5 years ago, I started noticing the discomfort of wearing contacts on a daily basis. I would come home from work, and immediately take them out, if I had no plans that evening. I also have extremely dry eyes, and usually use re-wetting drops frequently. I have always found glasses to be a nuisance, and wearing them for long periods of time gave me a headache. My goal was to get Lasik by the time I turned 40. I priced out the surgery with several surgeons in the D/FW metro-plex, including my optometrist, and I found the PRK procedure to be rather competitive to the traditional Lasik procedure, so I decided to make an appointment with Dr. M./M Lasik Center since there was no fee for the consultation. (I ended up paying about $200 more than what my eye doctor quoted me, based on my prescription, and considering my astigmatisms.) Halfway through the consultation, I already knew I had decided that this is the route I wanted to go. Dr. M. encouraged me to do my research first before making a solid decision, but I was already sold. During the consultation, Dr. M. has you watch a video of his competitor (a local Lasik surgeon) that had Dr. M. perform the PRK procedure on all 5 of her children. There's really not much more that needed to be said at that point. I have heard stories about how many Lasik patients feel like cattle during their procedure, as other institutions perform this procedure in droves. At M Lasik Center, there's only one procedure at a time, and Dr. M. performed it himself, with his nurse in the room to assist him. After the procedure, I was taken into a post-recovery room, where I was the only one in there. I felt like I was the only patient that day, and cannot relate to other stories that I have heard. Post-surgery: I did have a lot of headaches and I was overly fatigued, but that was due to the fact that my eyes were sensitive to the steroid drops given, which is rare, but in my case, it happened. I do keep my eyes moistened throughout the day, as post-PRK patients need to since the eyes can be dry for 6-12 months after surgery. The headaches are due to your eyes trying to adjust to their new setting, and that does not recalibrate overnight. Just be patient and understand that it is part of the process. If you don't choose M Lasik Center, you should at least consider the free consultation. If you do choose Dr. M., just remember that the PRK procedure is different than the traditional Lasik procedure. Do NOT listen to your friends or others that have had the traditional Lasik procedure, because you might hear some conflicting information. Pay attention to Dr. M. and follow every instruction he gives. It can be scary and you probably will be nervous, but you are in great hands and within a couple of months after the surgery, your only regrets will be that you didn't do this sooner.

I was extremely satisfied with my procedure. Prior to having my eyes fixed, I could not function…read morewithout my glasses or contacts. And both were a nuisance to me. I made the decision to fix my eyes when I could no longer wear my contacts. I was definitely a little apprehensive to get the surgery, but Dr. Nettune did an outstanding job. I had PRK which has a longer healing time than Lasik, and there were definitely moments of doubt while my eyes healed, but I LOVE being able to get up in the morning and see the alarm clock, and I LOVE being able to go for a swim and not have to worry about my contacts. I LOVE not having to adjust my contacts when they blur up on me or constantly scoot my glasses back into place. I LOVE the freedom of just going without thinking about these things. I LOVE traveling and not having to carry contact solution and my glasses case. I am so appreciative of my sight and try not to take it for granted. He answered all of our questions, even shared some research studies about the procedure. Not 5 stars a because it's at least 45 minute wait after your appointment time for follow up. The annual follow up appointments with Dr. Zaffos are always brief & productive, but because of the wait, we'd be lucky to be out of there in 1.5 hours. The typical time we spent there is 2 hours, with 5-10minutes of the actual doctor visit.
