Tocabe, an American Indian Eatery on concourse A
    Bennett P.

First time at Tocabe. I have been intending to visit their Denver location. Good comfort food. I wanted a high protein meal before sleeping on my night flight to Iceland. For $22.15, I chose quinoa & wheatberry for the base. I added black beans and shredded bison for proteins and topped the bowl with their green chile and hot tomato salsa. Perfect amounts, not too filling. The shredded bison was great. All the food items are simmering in Dutch oven pots. All clean. No tables nearby. I sat nearby facing the restaurant. I added the yogurt parfait for dessert. It was made with Wojapi, a mix of strawberry, blueberry and raspberry. Good crunchy granola. Yummy.

My latest go to when I'm flying out of A terminal in Denver - Tocabe is a unique restaurant that offers traditional Native American options. Think building a bowl with bison as your protein and hominy as a topping. I feel like it can be healthier than other airport food and is quick service too. If you've got enough time, walk to the end of the terminal and enjoy it plane spotting from the outdoor patio

Walked by and did a double take- definitely not something you see at every airport! I got a bowl with ground beef (I would've strayed but didn't want to risk my stomach on the plane) and lots of veggies, and a fry bread on the side. Service was efficient. The bowl was delicious and super fresh and filling. Would love to try other proteins next time. The fry bread was a little too oily for me but had a nice flavor.

The Denver International Airport lacks a good selection of food. That is just a known thing and it is not limited to Denver's airport. I was super excited to see that Tocabe opened up a location here because the one in Denver is one of my favorite fast-ish food places to go to. Unfortunately, I did not find this location to be at the same 5 star quality like the original location. The ground bison was flavorless and extremely dry. It was not quite like chewing on sand but close. Not even the sauces could cover the lack of flavor. The other ingredients like beans, hominy, etc were all lacking flavor too. I have quite an appetite and found it difficult to finish the bowl. It does seem like fried bread is good according to other reviews but I did not try it. Add in the inflated airport pricing and it is hard to recommend this place unfortunately.

Excellent Native American Cuisine stand at the DEN airport - the wojapi berry sauce you can get in a cup or with Greek yogurt and seeds is amazing and very delicious. You can also get bowls with bison beef, corn, rice or quinoa and beans - and the bowls with bison beef are great. Moreover, they have fry bread, powdered fry bread nuggets, chips & salsa, salads and much more - service also very prompt and you order at a counter. Located conveniently in the Denver airport as well, near the hustle and bustle of the crowd stream - and there are plenty of seats nearby. Highly recommended!

You can't beat this spot for quick grab n go at the airport. The food is nutrient dense and delicious! The dishes were very customizable as it is a Build Your Own Bowl or Burrito place. Tocabe can be tailored for everyone! I've never had NATAM food before. The shredded bison paired with the berries and wild rice with ancho sauce was a perfect mixture of flavors. Note if you order frybread, it is quite large and may take additional time. The Wojabi sauce is not too sweet and very berry tasty. The atmosphere is bright to match the flavors of the cuisine.

Almost as good as the original location. You have to get the fried bread. They have all the classics but the menu is a little less extensive and frankly less flavorful at the airport location. Prices are little bit on the higher end but hey I'm sure the taxes of The staff could use a little bit of training on customer service and friendliness. Overall I do recommend despite being 30 percent more than the panda it feels good to support a local business.

Fry bread + cup of green chili--yum!!!

I was stoked to see that frybread is at the heart of Tocabe's menu, which features many options to make frybread tacos topped with veg or proteins such as bison and beef. But I wanted chili, and the server kindly let me sample both the chipotle bison and green chili beef options--both were hearty and yummy, but green chiles always win with me so I got a cup of that plus an a la carte piece of fry bread. Both tasted great, and I was happy to get the chance to try these regional specialties right at the airport. Only improvements are that the chili could have been served warmer and spicier, but I know that the latter is not widely tolerated. Overall, unique, delicious food and good service make Tocabe a recommended spot to try at DEN.

So awesome to have a quick serve real food option that also caters to vegetarian diets! The fry bread is made fresh upon order. Fresh vegetables, seed mixes, delicious sauce. Friendly service. Eat here in terminal A - just off the center concourse.

We decided to have lunch here to try the new place. We chose to build our meals. She went with salad and I decided on an Indian taco. Selected the shredded bison as the meat of choice on a bed of salad, chick peas, medium salsa, cheese, sour cream, beans. I believe I had ancho chipotle too. I left it up to the expertise of the servers who were helpful and recommended best choices. Clean and neat serving station. Picked water to drink. Only bottled choices. It was tasty. Full of flavor and a slight spice level. Maybe I'll try the fry bread nuggets next. Sounds intriguing.

if you have an hour in denver airport, you should definitely come over to terminal A and try this amazing indigenous food. i stopped into denver with a 3 hour layover at the end of my holiday trip and was in the domestic terminal C. i looked around at the mcdonald's, starbucks, and chic fil a and was like please does this airport have more options. i looked at the map and saw that terminal A has international flights so i was like there's gotta be something better. so im wandering through terminal C and saw bison on the menu and was like omg in an airport yes!!! it was gloomy that day and i was cold so i went with the bison chipotle chili with fry bread. the service was kind and swift, they offer cheese and sour cream on the soup, the sour cream i took. the fry bread was amazing, reminds me of a palestinian bread called taboon if it were fried instead of on a clay oven. the chipotle was there but not overpowering. the ground bison meat was delicious, tastes like a leaner beef and absorbed seasoning well. i went to the second level of the airport and found a bunch of staff sitting on the carpeted floor taking their breaks and sat there so i could eat it without making a mess. and soaked up all the bottom with the fry bread. would so try the bowls next time and get the chili again. i was not hungry until i got home hours later. if you get a cup of the soup its half the size and it's half the price of the bowl so they price it accurately no psychological markups. but the bowl and bread was worth the $16.

Picked up a shredded bison taco and the powdered sugar nuggets. 10000/10 it was so yummy!! Did not taste like "airport food". The service was great too, super friendly and quick. Will definitely be back!

His attention to detail and the way he interacts with the patrons coming in and out of the airport is pretty impressive. He checked in several times with everyone and ran a super clean and friendly environment. I had a couple mezcal paper planes that were extremely well crafted and we struck up a pretty great conversation about Mexico and tequila. The food here is TOP notch, which I was surprised by. They make a ton of stuff in house that was very refreshing for an airport joint. He was saying the Chicken salad Sandwich was really great. Can't wait to come back and give it a try. Thanks Jim! Hope you're here next time

The dark-haired bartender responded with an extremely hostile attitude when we tried to order. We were told that the poke bowl (around $30) could not be made until 11:00 AM, despite it being 10:45 and the menu stating nothing about this restriction. When we asked if we could order it ahead of time and receive it at 11, she snapped, "NO, we can't even ring it in until 11," and then told us to wait outside. We complied initially, then sat quietly at an empty table near the hostess stand, completely out of the way. Shortly after, my friend informed us that the manager had approved placing the poke bowl order before 11. We paid, tipped, and sat back down briefly while waiting for the food. Within two minutes, the same bartender aggressively approached us and yelled for us to leave and wait outside. When my boyfriend calmly explained that we were simply waiting for food we had already paid for, she responded, "I don't care, you can go wait outside," and essentially kicked us out of the restaurant. This happened despite us being seated out of the way and not disrupting service, and in a high-traffic airport area where her reaction caused more disruption than our presence ever did. To make the interaction even stranger, after we waited outside, a male bartender brought us our food, handed it to us, and said "peace out" in a sarcastic and dismissive tone. This was one of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional food service experiences I've ever had. I've worked in the food industry for 12 years and attended culinary school, so I understand pressure and policy. This was not that. This was unnecessary hostility, poor communication, and a complete lack of basic professionalism.

They were really busy, my first bartender (Alex) acknowledged me right off the bat, got me a beer and I sat here for a bit. I have a 4-hour layover so I'm not in a huge rush for anything. I sat for a bit and finished my beer and the second bartender (Alexis) came up to me and asked me if I needed anything, so I ordered some cheese curds. They came out super fast, I wasn't even expecting them. They were really good! I'm probably going to order hot wings here in a few, Because by the time I land tonight I won't have any food options. I ordered a double vodka/soda w/lime, and my bartender made it REAL proper like pahtna! I'll snap a few more pics, and I'll order some wings, I'm sure they'll be good. My only thing, is looking at other people's food going out, and the portions seem to be a tad bit small for the price. So if you're ordering a burger, expect that right off the bat! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. On this visit, we shared the fish and chips and a plate of mac and cheese. I was surprised by how good the fish was. It was moist inside while still being crispy on the outside. The fries looked good, but unfortunately, they were soggy. The mac and cheese was decent, though nothing especially memorable. Our server was friendly and checked in on us periodically. I think the reason I keep coming back is that the restaurant does not feel cramped. The tables are not packed on top of each other, and after spending a couple of hours on a crowded plane, I appreciate being able to sit down and eat without feeling like I am fighting for space.
