    Outside on Thursday, June 11th

Toasted, a new sandwich cafe, just opened on Wednesday, 17 June 2026. Toasted is owned by the same owner who owns Roasted Lakewood and Roasted Tremont coffee shops. Roasted Lakewood is just down the street from Toasted. Toasted offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soups, toast, wraps, salads, plus fresh juices. I visited on their 2nd day of opening for breakfast. I was feeling hungry after leaving the gym so I ordered a breakfast sandwich. I was originally going to take my order to go but I last minute decided to sit in and eat quickly before getting ready for work. MY ORDER -- I got the BYO breakfast sandwich ($9) which comes with egg and then one topping from each category. I choose bacon for my protein option and a tomato for my topping. I don't eat cheese so I got to substitute that for another topping and I choose spinach for that option. My sandwich for some reason had no egg in it and it tasted a little off. I wasn't sure if it was the sesame wheat bread that I chose but after I got home, I realized that it had Hollandaise sauce in it which I don't like. Other than that, it was an okay breakfast sandwich. The bacon was nice and crispy though so that was a plus. I also ordered the yogurt parfait ($5) which I really enjoyed. I only took a few bites of it before going back home. It is made with a Choibani vanilla based yogurt that had blueberries and raspberries in it. It has just the right amount of sweetness (a little too sweet actually) with some tasty crunchiness of the granola. For some reason, an employee came out with my sandwich order after I already got it which she and the owner were not sure how that happened (haha) so they gave me this 2nd breakfast sandwich for free. Funny enough, this 2nd BYO breakfast sandwich had egg in it so it's unclear why my first order wasn't correct with not have egg in it (LOL). Anyway, I appreciate getting a second complimentary breakfast sandwich. They are currently open on weekdays from 7am to 2pm (except Tuesdays) and on weekends from 8am to 2pm. I'll be back to try some fresh-squeezed juices such as a green juice and to try their lunch sandwiches plus soups. Customer service is friendly and efficient. Stop on in and support this local small business. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 134/250 total reviews in 2026 - 975 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 18 June 2026

A few things to note if you decide to try it out: there are no reservations. Seating is first come, first served, and a line forms outside in the benches. Hop in line and expect to wait about 15 minutes. Very casual and smooth! Also, they take card but would appreciate if you paid cash to cut down on credit card expenses. You get a fun treat if you do! I started my breakfast with some freshly brewed coffee that they kept topping off throughout the morning. I also get some fresh fruit and the strawberries were sooo sweet! Get the fruit, because it's a nice snack while you wait for your meal to come out. For my entrée, I ordered two buttermilk pancakes and a side of eggs scrambled with cheese and the home fries. The pancakes were fluffy and the syrup was nice and thick. I loved how the eggs came out. They were cooked perfectly with cheddar cheese. And the home fries stole my heart. How a restaurant prepares their home fries sets the tone for me anywhere. They were seasoned very well and I could tell that they are a great foundation to the entrees on the house specialties menu. I will be returning to try some of the savory dishes very soon!

I can confidently say this is one of the best "Biscuit & Gravy" dishes I've ever had!! I loved how…read morethe restaurant creates a tower with cheesy scrambled eggs (enough where you can see the cheese pull with every scoop) as the foundation, followed by a fluffy biscuit to top it off. The dish is drenched with their delicious and creamy gravy, which complimented very well with the spinach, mushroom, and turkey sausage chunks (extra). This is a huge portion and can easily be shared by two people! As for my sweet craving, I ordered a side of their Kid's Spelt Pancake (essentially a smaller version of the entree size), and the pancakes were made perfectly! The pancakes were fluffy, layered with small apple chunks for a nice, crispy crunch, and topped with a homemade whipped cream -- I could literally eat their whipped cream for days! It was super creamy with a light sweet aftertaste. If you're looking for a dangerous savory sweet combination, look no further!! The service was quick and the staff were incredibly kind. Too bad I was only visiting or else this would be a staple in my brunch routine.

Beautiful mural on the wall near our table and there was a fresh flower arrangement on our table which we all appreciated. The space itself had a diner feel where there is a small number of tables and servers are flipping tables because of limited hours and a constant wait. We were told the wait was 30-40 minutes and I believe we sat after 30 minutes. Time flew by as it was a beautiful Sunday morning and we were all chatting outside.

We parked in the back which was convenient for going to the west side market after. The patio is bright and well decorated with flowers. (Pansies is perfect for this chilly weather and while too cool to eat outside, it was nice to walk through the patio). The inside is rustic, wooden tables, a western /organic decor. A friend recommended the bone broths. I ordered the chicken. Yum. Very warm and wholesome! I also ordered the power bowl with Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, chili nut oil and an egg on top. It was delicious. Filling, so I took some home. The service was excellent. The people were really friendly! Looking forward to coming back to try other amazing things on the menu!

There are outdoor seatings as well. We ordered a paleo power bowl, cinnamon roll with chicken and a savory crepe. While I liked the protein bowl, it had no taste at all. I had to add salt and pepper to get some flavor (i normally eat light). I brought it to the waitress's attention and she informed the manager who was nice to take it off my bill. My friend ordered cinnamon roll with fried chicken on top. It's good to eat separately but not great eating them together like chicken n waffles. The savory crepe was bigger than expected. Overall, the food was ok but I appreciated the service.

We weren't really greeted as we walked in but a woman said hi as we took a seat. No one else acknowledged us and we didn't realize she worked there because she was just kind of visiting at a table. There were also two other tables being used by young children to play and nap. So, it was a little awkward... Anyway, another woman finally came out from the back and gave us menus and coffee. We had eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and blueberry pancakes. It was fine. It's really standard food that kind of just feels like you went to someone's house for breakfast... including a little burnt edge on the pancakes. I guess this is a neighborhood place but it's not super comfortable or aesthetic. It's fine.
