A solid breakfast spot! I already want to go back! I ordered "the wave" breakfast with eggs over easy, sausage links, home fries, wheat toast and a side of corned beef hash. Everything came out spot on! The silver dollar pancakes are the perfect size (usually I find them to be served overwhelmingly large). The corned beef hash has a nice crispy-crunchy-salty bite. The toast was fluffy and ample-buttered. The home fries were some of the best I've ever had. They were well-seasoned with a crispy skin outside and a soft inside. They tasted just like a delicious french fry in home fry form. I feel like most home fries lack that "fry" taste and have more of a "seasoned potato" flavor, but not these. Definitely give this place a try. I can't wait to come back! read more

We never had any alcoholic drinks. The number of inaccurate statements in your response was overwhelming and unsettling. By the way, we arrived at 7:11am and my son and his girlfriend arrived at 7:21 and we all left at 8:35 after receiving nothing more than one VIRGIN Mary and coffee. read more

To Catherine L who gave Toast a 1 star review - it is unbelievable how horrible and rude people can be to those in the service industry. We work long hours on our feet - when it is 90 degrees outside our kitchen is 100+ degrees while they prepare your food. Our servers and bartenders hustle and juggle to remember every special request of guests and sometimes we are short staffed, sometimes we are on hour 50 of the week and we are tired, perhaps we have been dealing with difficult customers like yourself all day and just fed up. We are human and OMG can you believe it - we make mistakes ! Is patience and common courtesy too much to ask? Maybe some kindness when you have a bad experience or want to give feedback. The hospitality business is about hosting and enjoying time with our customers - you are in our home where we spend 10+ hours a day- if someone came into your home and was rude would you ask them to leave? Perhaps next time you go out for food, drinks, shop at a retail store or deal with anyone providing you a service you will think about the other person and not be so nasty. Jessica and her staff have been a wonderful part of the community since taking over the business. Based on your attitude she and her staff are better off if you went somewhere else - sadly that means another industry person will have a bad day serving you and your unreasonable expectations. Be well and do better. read more

Will never go here again after being told we needed to wait with three tables open. Then proceeding to seat two walk-in groups while we were waiting. When asked about it they got rude so Ill spend my money elsewhere. read more

Food was good, but a 20% gratuity was automatically added to my bill. Our party was 3 adults and 1 child and this wasn't stated to us by our waitress or posted on the menu at all. My dad ended up double tipping on accident. To have no transparency with mandatory 20% added gratuity before dining is criminal. I won't be going back. read more

Yummy hash and eggs and super helpful and friendly staff! Cute and quirky, will be my new late breakfast haunt!

Top notch informal breakfast spot. I had the homemade corned beef hash with eggs and hash browns. Loved it. Such a generous portion that I waited till dinner for my next meal. read more

Many of you know that there are limited places for breakfast on the south shore around Cohasset, Hingham and Scituate. I tried Toast one day early on in the pandemic and I've become a regular customer of theirs. Convenience, quality of food and staff are always what I look for. I've read a few of these negative reviews and I can't believe that they were written in the first place. New Ownership took over in 2019 and righted this ship. The team at Toast has gone above and beyond any of my expectations. The food is always amazing and the staff themselves are very nice people. I urge you to try them for yourselves. Will there be a wait? probably because it's a small place, however it's totally worth the wait the food is that good. If you don't want to wait, order out like I do. Call ahead and my order is always takes about 25 mins but is ready when I arrive. If your unfamiliar with the area it's across the st from Nantastic beach and if anyone has been there while it's a hot day in Massachusetts knows that beach gets crowded quickly. Support local restaurants. The restaurant industry barely survived with the pandemic, however when deciding to give a review think of the end results. Enjoy your experience. I guarantee it will be as good as mine. read more

Just a great place for breakfast. I go there all the time. It's just a well run place, bright, cheery, clean restaurant with a fabulous menu. Breakfast gone wild! The owner and staff are very welcoming and professional.I am a foodie but breakfast for me is very simple. Eggs, toast, home fries and hash. Although, that is a very common breakfast most people get it wrong. Not toast! Fresh fluffy eggs, real breakfast potatoes and the hash is delicious! Check out the menu. like I said -breakfast gone wild, they have something for everyone. read more

I hate waiting. For anything. I will wait in line on a weekend morning for Toast. The food is always hot and delicious, the staff is always friendly. Jess, the owner, is so kind. Solid breakfast place. I had the avocado toast, my husband had eggs and corned beef hash. All were good and the hash browns were really great. So crispy! The coffee was good too and the service very nice. Not fancy, small and crowded, but tables turn over fast so not a long wait. I would love it if it were twice the size. Recommend. read more

Always busy, a good sign to wait your turn! The avocado toast and salmon benny was to die for! Add the lox to your avo toast.. I wanted a bite off everyone's plate! Right across from the beach and 2 minute walk from the hotels. Enjoyed conversation with the manager. Great spot!! read more

There is a sign somewhere in this restaurant... something about this not being your place if you're in a hurry. Indeed, be prepared to wait to be seated if you've come when it's busy, and likewise to receive you food. Their kitchen is on the small side when it comes to professional grade kitchens. I had ordered a short stack of pancakes with some pecans sprinkled on top, and some coffee. Pancakes were surprisingly good! At home, mom always made something which has no translation, I think the closest approximation is Blini, or Fritters, though neither word explain it perfectly. They are suite hairy though... with my only pancake experience being IHOP and Bisquick. These things had just the nicest, "crust" griddled to absolute perfection, as thin as a hair. Inside was lovely too, not overly sweet and just the right consistency. Size was right on, not tiny, but not as big as a football field either. Of course, I also got a side of bacon... because bacon! The coffee was solid, and the service was polite! So, why then only four stars? Two reasons: 1. Though I realize this isn't a place meant to be speedy, I did find the wait to be rather lengthy. 2. Though the pancakes, coffee, and bacon were reasonably priced, the pecans were quite steep for what I got. A quarter handful of them sprinkled on top cost considerably more than I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, I love pecans and an extra buck or two isn't the biggest deal, but the value for this topping is less than stellar. read more

As a lover of all things breakfast I found this establishment egg-cellent! Between the whole fam this place was a hit. Susan loved her French toast which is a win from this mom! (Susie is usually such a picky eater), If it's a thumbs up from Susie its a thumbs up from momma! read more

Horrible. Very rude employees , we wanted to sit near the window or near the bar and we were told no they are for a bigger group but there was other people with only two people and they were sitting in booths. Fake eggs , pancakes and hash browns [not a real breakfast ]. Very unhappy customers and we also waited about 25 minutes until our food I should say fake food was done . I don't know why there is all good reviews but we won'tbe coming back here. read more

Terrible attitude from the top down. The owner was rude and aggressive when we asked a wait staff how long the food would be after a 35 minute wait after ordering. We happily waited a half hour to be seated. The food is fine, but poorly managed kitchen. I would never return and have shared our experience w/friends and family. We are so frequently raving about other restaurant experiences and food. So grateful there are choices and other great options in neighboring towns. read more

Great place to grab breakfast after nabbing morning parking at Nantasket. Not a lot of seating, but they have benches with pillows outside for those in line. Points for their creative entrees, like pancake tacos. read more

There are great places you go to because the food is fantastic, and there are places you go because the setting is incredible, and sometimes you find a place where the people who work there make it special and worth the trip. Toast is the rare place that is all three and a lot more. Since the new owner took over, the heart and soul of Toast has grown. Jess has taken a good place and made it truly great. A revised menu has given way to something that never happened to me over the years of going there: having difficulty when choosing what to have. I'm still a fan of the world class hash browns and home fries, but the avocado toast has taken me by storm. Try a flavored latte ( they cycle through seasonal flavors), or one of their many brunch cocktails. And if you find yourself there with a crowd waiting to get in, put your name on the list and force yourself to breath in the ocean air and enjoy the view of Nantasket Beach. read more

I noticed another reviewer (Catherine L.) left a negative comment about Toast and the owner of this well established, local place. I was in the restaurant when Catherine L. was there and I just want to say shame on you, Catherine! Your behavior and the scene that you caused in the restaurant was uncalled for. Yes, the restaurant was busy, a testament to the incredible food and local family friendly atmosphere that the owner and her staff have created. I didn't not find the wait for food to be unreasonable! But your behavior, Catherine, was. For me it was another typical Sunday at Toast, delicious food served up with a smile! I am a repeat customer, as many of us who eat at Toast are. Why are we repeat customers ? Because the owner of Toast takes good care of her customers, the entire staff are proffessionals and the food is out of this world. You won't find a better breakfast place around! We are lucky to have a place like TOAST in our own backyard. read more

Great food. Eggs Benedict with hash was delicious. Very attentive staff and very friendly. Breakfast with a beach view.

For me, any good restaurant should have three things: great food, great service, and a great environment. It was honestly difficult for me to consider the food and environment because of the owner. I went there with my girlfriend for a quick bite before hitting the beach, and from the time we asked for a table to the time we left, all I could focus on was the owner/manager. She never smiled once, was short and unfriendly with all customers, and generally made the entire experience poor. Some real examples? When we asked for a table for two her response was "20 minutes, wait outside and I'll come get you." And while it was only about 5 minutes, our indication that our table was ready was a knock at the window behind us. Given there was a group seated there, she either reached over the table to knock or had the customer knock for her. Terrible. While inside we were seated next to the bar, at one point the lady walked by with menus that bumped into my girlfriend's arm. She looked back to see what she hit but never offered any form of apology. It wasn't a big deal but at least say sorry. A table of 5 was being seated near us in a booth that normally seats 4. She walked to the table and grabbed a chair on the way. After slamming the chair down at the end (which blocked both sides of the tight booth from being entered) she walked away without saying a word, letting the group see themselves into the booth. The food wasn't bad, my girlfriend got an egg sandwich that looked and tasted delicious. I got scrambled eggs with shredded hash browns and sausage. The hash browns were a little greesy but tasted great, the eggs and sausage were just ok. The layout inside was a mishmash of knick-knacks and clutter with no real theme that just made it feel boring and crowded. All in all, I won't eat here again. read more
