We wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast so we decided to give Toast Cafe a try. From the outside it looks a little run down but when you step inside it has a cool little vibe to it. The host and waitress were extremely nice and we decided to sit outside. Both inside and outside the restaurant were very clean probably because they had just opened up. We arrived around 8am and there was only one person inside. The waitress took our order and explained everything in detail letting me know it was a dairy kosher restaurant so there wasn't really any meat, only fish selections. So, my son went with eggs, has browns and rye toast. He also ordered an orange and pineapple smoothie which was very good. I went with the salmon tacos and a passion fruit and tea mix which was amazing. Overall, it was a nice little restaurant that could use a makeover. The Toast sign outside is faded and worn out. With a little more love, this could be a nice little local breakfast shop. We may stop by again but I feel like there are better options for breakfast within the area. It's a kosher restaurant, which I personally love because kosher food is prepared with a level of cleanliness and care guided by Judaic laws--you can genuinely feel the quality. The portions here are generous, consistent, and satisfying. My staff usually loves switching restaurants, but this is the one place we never change. Every time we come here, the food hits the spot. The service is also excellent. The staff is kind, helpful, and extremely accommodating. Went here for one of our meetings, first off I was confused when they told me we are meeting at Toast - I thought it was the same Toast cafe in LA. This is actually a kosher restaurant so not related to the LA restaurant. The place has indoor seating and also lots of outdoor seating. Right as we sat down I observed that this is a family owned restaurant. My boss frequents this place since it's kosher. She ordered shakshuka - love this dish I didn't try hers but I've made this dish myself - was pleased how they have a little pan to serve it in. My other boss ordered the sandwich and I had the impossible southwest omelette. I actually found the omelette really filling - it has impossible meat with mushrooms, onions and spinach topped with melted mozzarella. The drinks are also good - I had macha which wasn't on the menu but they made it anyway . Our server was very nice I believe he's the son of the owner. Polite and attentive. It's definitely a good place for brunch or lunch if you're on this side of the valley. Parking can be a challenge. read more

So glad I tried Toast again after so many years. I really loved the food and the service was great. We both got the Ziva which is a perfectly baked thin dough filled with cheese and green olives. It's doughy, crispy, salty, and satisfying. We also got the tuna melt and it was one of the best I've tasted. Delicious tuna on a crispy Jerusalem bagel with cheese, olives, and tomato. So so good. This adorable little hole in the wall was very packed and lively. An amazing frozen mint lemonade that was so refreshing. I haven't enjoyed a breakfast meal in a restaurant for such a long time, this place delivered. My mom said she isn't that hungry and she will only eat half of her sandwich but guess what. She ate it all ... not a single crumble left. ... flavorful salmon and sauce and fresh avocado and tomatoes on a sesame bagel. Yummmm ... my order was stuffed with cheese. Delicious cheese that as soon as you cut into it you see it melt out. Top it with tomatoes and egg and pickles and you get the perfect bite... tastes amazing. First time here and I will definitely be back. The food was delicious! I had the Heathy Omelet and it was fresh, clean and tasty. My husband had the Monster Omelet and he loved it. The serving size is perfect. The iced coffee was nice and tasty. We also had the Guacamole Ciabatta bread and it was devine. Being that I'm Mexican I did miss the cilantro and extra lime, but delicious nonetheless. We asked for hot sauce and were given a few different options, best of all was the one that is house made and recommended by the staff. We suggested they bottle it up and sell it, it was that good. The staff was kind and friendly. Made us feel welcomed. The place is clean and comfortable. It's on the smaller size. But they do have outside seating that is pet friendly. I ordered for delivery a glass of fresh carrot juice and the Breakfast Delight. I was very impressed with both. The carrot juice tasted fresh and sweet. I've been craving carrot juice but, just pure carrot juice is hard to find. Most juice places blend it with other things. The breakfast Delight was really above and beyond great. It was a perfectly cooked over-easy egg that was perched over a good portion of beautiful smoked salmon and this was accompanied by thinly sliced tomatoes red onion and half an avocado and capers. Date: January 26, 2023 I had to knock off a star because we had a very scary encounter during this visit. Todays my best friends birthday so we went to grab lunch since she took the day off work. Being a mom of two under two, it's a lot harder to go on adventures solo so she came over to our neighborhood and we walked over to Toast Cafe to try it out. It's a cute little corner store on Noble and Ventura with some indoor seating and some outdoor seating. There's a parking lot right behind but since it's shared there's not too many spots available. But around is meter parking and residential streets so not impossible to find a spot. We arrived around 2pm and it was pretty full but we were able to get a table right away. Our original waiter came to ask us for our drink order but didn't bring anything. Our second waitress was much better. Brought us our waters and we ordered our food. 1. French toast- can't go wrong with this. Lovely sweetness to it with the syrup and fruits were fresh. 2. Fish and chips- wish there was a little more fish compared to the overcooked batter but it was still delicious! Fries were also delicious! 3. Impossible breakfast burrito - I'm not a big fan of impossible meat but it wasn't bad. Although there was a bunch of stuff inside, you really couldn't taste anything at all. Lol. But the scariest thing happened during our visit. Their restroom is located behind the restaurant so I took my son to change a diaper and as I'm grabbing the wipes he hands me something from behind the changing table and it's a HUGE knife! Like not a steak knife, it was a full on butcher knife. I told the lady in the kitchen and she didn't speak English so I waved her over and she just laughed as she grabbed the knife. Really wanted to like this place but wasn't the biggest fan. The menu looks really good so maybe I didn't order the right thing, but it was hard to justify the price for a meal that was just ok. The service was also very slow which kind of dampened the experience. I wanted to order the shakshuka but they were out. Instead I opted for the salmon salad. Salmon salad: 6/10- The salmon was cooked pretty well but the rest of the salad was pretty plain and bland. My friends ordered the breakfast burrito and Caesar salad. They said they were pretty good but nothing special. Overall it's a cute place but I probably won't be coming back. I will give them credit for being pretty vegetarian/ vegan friendly. read more

Delicious food and very big portions! I had a great experience at this place! I ordered the Matcha Latte ($5) and the Monster Omelet ($17). The latte was a little disappointing, but coffee isn't something that I incredible like in general. But the Monster Omelet was delicious! It was such a big loaded omelet with a lot of mushrooms and cheese. Side note: it came with 4 eggs. But it was so stuffed and tasted so good! The service of the place was really good! The waiters and waitresses were really friendly and always checked in with me and my friend. There's street/metered parking available for this place. Overall, I highly recommend trying this place! Spouse and I were driving along Ventura BLVD trying to find a place to have lunch. When we noticed a corner Cafe named Toast Cafe. We never heard of it. So we decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did. Nice patio on 2 sides. Along Ventura Blvd. and along a quiet side street ( this was where we were sitting) and a nice inside area. Nice and friendly staff. A very nice and friendly lady ( it turned out to be the owner ) took our order. My spouse who is vegan had vegan shawarma with Israeli salad and fries and I had Fish Schnitzel and fries. It all was delicious. When we were ready to leave we decided to take some sweets with us. The owner told us about the new cake she is offering ( she actually makes it herself). Banana Cheesecake.
