I started using them to install a new pool pump. Day after the pump was installed there was a leak in it which I had to call to report since Blue Science didn't notice it (it wasn't a tiny leak). One Friday after the pool had been serviced, I got home only to find out the walls had not been brushed, I had to brush them myself. There was no report on chemical levels either. I think they never showed up and lied about it. I had to call them to let them know there were parts of the pool starting to look green. I placed the call AFTER the pool tech left. When I was out of town the pool tech showed up and the gate was closed. He called my husband and agreed to show up again the next day. No visit from the pool tech until I called to complain. There was a random $31 charge on my credit card. AFTER, not before, I called I was informed that it's because there are months with 5 weeks. I was told 4 days ago that I would get a refund, still no refund. I was promised the $31 refund today and decided to cancel service. Appalling. First visit - didn't clean skimmers and tossed shock on the bottom of the pool instead of the filter. No call back. 2nd visit - dunno what they did, but I know my pool filter needed cleaning and there was no communication or diagnosis. 3rd visit - 4th of July holiday (which is deserved) but they still charged me for not showing up - claiming "we put enough chemicals in last week to last for 2 weeks"...is that safe? My kids swam that weekend??? 4th visit - again no emptying of the skimmer basket. My pool smells like a toxic waste dump with the low-quality chlorine they use. BYE. BYE. read more

From the first visit (March) till now (September) Blue Science has done a fantastic job caring for my pool. After caring for the pool last summer I finally acknowledged that I needed to throw in the towel. For some reason our pool has always been susceptible to algae which wouldn't go away. I've been to Leslie's and California Pools numerous times and purchased many different types of algae treatment products, only to constantly continue the battle with this algae issue. However ever since giving over service to Blue Science I've had clear water and no cloudiness and I no longer have to worry about slipping on algae! Highly recommended. read more

We had them do our weekly maintenance. Often they wouldn't show up for the Friday appointment. I think we must have been last on the list and happy hour was starting. Sometimes they'd come out on Saturday instead, but other times they would not come at all. Most recently we were charged for a filter cleaning that didn't actually happen. Also, we were then told the grids were broken shortly after. They were replaced just one year ago and should not be broken UNLESS it was not properly maintained. It's tempting to sign up with these guys because they are cheap. Don't do it. They are unprofessional, unreliable and untrustworthy. read more

I needed to find a new cleaning company for my rent house in north Dallas this summer. The situation with my no-show tech was so bad I was worried that my tenets would not renew unless this was resolved promptly and professionally. I was already using this company for my home pool in Houston, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they service Dallas also. My experiences with them is such a contrast to the previous maintenance company. The tech comes by weekly on the same day, so the tenets know when to expect them and while I haven't see the pool myself, the tenets say the water has never looked healthier. read more

The company has not been the best communicators with us. A few months ago our gate was not unlocking properly for a few weeks and so the pool guy couldn't get in. Realized the pool just wasn't cleaned and the tech or company had made no effort to contact us or let us know we were paying for a service that wasn't being done. We are on our 4th tech since using Blue Science since February (they kept changing our tech, have no idea why) and he is by far the best we have had. Great communicator, lets me know when certain chemicals are in so kids don't swim in them, gives great information for us as new pool owners, etc. Not that impressed with the company in general but we definitely like our tech guy AARON! To start service they require a credit card on file.. Ok.. They tell me my cy acid is way to high gotta drain $300. In addition to the 300 they have charged my card an additional 430 for services that were not even done nor requested!!! I've called several times and been told I'll be refunded... Hasn't happened.. But you know what? They charged my cc AGAIN for ANOTHER unauthorized charge... I can't really say much about their service and everything because nothing but a pool drain has been done... But they do not have a grasp on their billing... And if your that incompetent I don't want you around my pool or home. This is out of control... Manager has yet to call me back. I've spoken to 2 different pool companies who said I did not need to do a drain for that especially in winter.. Instead change the kind of tablets your using and as you top off your pool with tap it will get back down. So if like shady used car sales men, this is the company for you. read more

Without going into greater detail, the other reviews in the thread mimic my experience. I would seek alternate means of pool cleaning.

I was completely dissatisfied after the pool technician had been for the very first visit. The walls of the pool had barely been brushed, and were still full of algae. The floor had barely been vacuumed, and was full of dirt/sediment. The filter casing had not been correctly reassembled, and was leaking at the seal. And the pump area was left in a disgraceful state, with DE all over the area and even the windows! I left a voice mail message that evening, stating that I wanted a call back first thing the next morning. I had expected a call back from their office, but instead the pool technician called late next morning and said that he had cleaned the walls and vacuumed (short of calling me a liar), but would be back that day to rectify the problems and reassemble the filter casing correctly. He never came back. I had guests coming over that evening, so ended up cleaning the the pool and surrounding area myself. I left another voice mail message that evening to cancel my agreement. I finally received a voice mail message the next morning from their office, asking me to reconsider my decision, which I declined. I am appalled at their level of customer service. Not once did I receive any kind of apology from anyone at Blue Science. read more

My first service tech was caught on camera spending 5 minutes cleaning the pool instead of 30. When confronted, he laughed and said "whatever". He was then fired. The second service tech turned the pool motor off and made the pool turn into a cesspool of algae. The third tech was fired. The fourth tech did not tell us his real name for three weeks. The owner finally called me and accused me of being the source of all the problems and said it was best if we parted ways. This all happened between March and June of 2011. I recently purchased a home and the prior owner used Blue Science, therefore I called them and hired them. I was living out of state initially and I asked that the pool technician call me upon arrival to complete the weekly service. They did just as asked and called me each week once they got to my home and they did this for several weeks prior to my move. The pool technicians were so helpful answering all my questions. Once I moved they were always willing to help me and spend a few minutes with me.. This is my first pool so I am a rookie, but these folks have helped me a ton and I know so much more now. read more

We decided to hire a pool service company after purchasing a home and moving to Plano, Texas in January. When calling around we found their responses to our questions about their services be the most up front. Dave answered all our questions and showed us how to run our pool equipment. The swimming pool has been clean every week since then. The customer service and responsiveness is very fast. We feel the pool service rates are a good value. Having our pool cleaned and chemicals maintained saves us lots of time. We are really glad we hired Blue Science Pool Service. read more

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the people at Blue Science Pools. I first found out about Blue Science through Google, and the reviews seemed to be positive. I had let my pool go over the winter and it needed a full empty and clean. They guys came out and did an amazing job. They kept in in constant contact with me through the process. With my schedule I knew I would need a company that could look after the pool for me. My weekly clean is performed by Chris. He is great, always calls me to let me know if I need anything, ie water is low or there is a snake in the skimmer LOL. I also want to give a shout out to Caleb my service tech that takes care of my equipment. Caleb's last visit was to fix my pool pump that I had noticed had a leak. Caleb got there the next day and was able to get the pump back up and running that same day. Last but not least I want to thank Audrey the repairs manager for always making time to hear my issues and promptly arranging the correct action to be performed. Thanks to everyone at Blue Science I must also state while I can not speak for the other two reviews I see here on Yelp my service was great. I do live in Georgetown Texas so I don't know if the Dallas branch is any different, but I have had a great experience, and my pool stays clean and blue read more

Pool cleaning crew are very good. The repair guys are very dishonest and not good at all. They tell you that your pool need stuff that it doesn't need. I do not like to be gauge for stuff I don't need. I got rid of this service and hired a repreatable company and found I didn't need any of this stuff that Blue Science said I did. I do not recommend that these people are hired. The billing system is a complete nightmare your credit card will have continuos debits. This is the first review I have ever written because I wanted to get the word out to others So that you hire someone else. read more

Use flower mound pool care and maintenance. They are outstanding. Great communication and follow up. Always on time and very thorough.
