I hate to submit this review but after a lot of thought, I feel it necessary.
My experience with Mike Love, owner of TM Auto Wholesalers started out great. He is a super nice guy and seemed to be a man of this word. I purchased a used vehicle from him and owned it for only 1 week when it started hesitating upon acceleration from a stop and once going again it was not shifting right. Yes, I purchased it from him "as is" and received a warranty with the financing but again, I only had the vehicle for ONE WEEK and have not even driven it more than 100 miles. When I called him to talk to him about it he asked if he could call me back and he didn't then I called him again the following day while driving it as it was not shifting correctly. He "connected" me with a service station that he knew the owner of. I'm thinking he is helping me out but not so much. The service station looked at it and said that they could not help because it is a transmission issue and I would have to take it to a transmission specialist and they charged me $110 for the diagnostics inspection. Then I had to take it to a transmission specialist and pay another $100 diagnostocs inspection fee. I understand that they need to make money BUT Mike, who sold me the car only ONE WEEK prior, recommended the first station like he was helping me out. Had I known that he was NOT really helping me out (i.e. covering the expense or even offering to cover at least half of it since I only had the car for ONE WEEK) I would have taken it to my regular mechanic initially and saved myself the first $110 diagnositcs fee. So, it is still doing the same thing so I am stuck with it and working with the tranmission specialist until they can figure out what the problem is. Eventually it should be coverd under the warranty but until it can be diagnosed I am having to drive it as it is.
I get it, to some people $110 or $200 isn't much money to some people but currently this added expense, in additon to making the downpayment on and financing the vehicle when I had to plans to even purchase one in the first place is very inconvenient and has me in a difficult position. I knew this is not his problem but the rest of the facts remains.
Again, I do understand buying something "as is" but for such a stand up guy I am very disappointed in the way this went down. He acted like since I didn't call him back he assumed it was taken care of. Well, I didn't call back because there was nothing to tell him or talk about since he didn't want to really help me out. read more
