I didn't think much of it but my fiancé told me to get it checked out. I never did till it got really bad. One day I'm going on a lil trip with my car & my 2 yr old son was with me. So I'm on the interstate & my engine light just starts flashing & it wouldn't go no faster than 57 miles. I had to pull over on the interstate & turn on my hazard lights. I had to drive an hour & some minutes back home only going 57 miles on the interstate just so they could tow my car from home. Mind you, the day after they "claimed" they fixed it my car did the same exact thing not even 24hrs of me having it. Recently my car stopped on a stop light because it was over heated & smoking. Now you may be thinking "what could cause that" well my c-h cooling ruptured all over my engine so i didn't have any cooling on a 81 degree hot day. Now they're saying I'll have to get a whole new engine & this is only the second month I've had the car. The worst part about it all is, i don't even want the car anymore it's putting me into financial stress. It's been in the shop more times than I've driven it.

The owner,…read moreJohn Gabriel, worked with me when I explained I had a horrible experience with a previous dealership where I drove 3 hours away and I made an appointment and they sold the car to someone else while I was test driving it, and he promised to work with me to make sure I don't have a similar experience and he really did make it happen. I drove 3 and a half hours to get there and immediately I could tell my happiness truly was their priority and they care about their customers. The other two associates were also incredibly friendly and helpful when walking me through the actual buying process. They made sure I was all set before making my drive home by making sure I had a full sized spare tire, when I brought up my concern that there was no front license plate mount they instantly took action to make sure it was fixed for me, and a full tank of gas! I went home with an amazing car and an even better experience. Thank you so much!

Normally with car inspections, I have to drop my car off at an auto-body shop and pick it up the next day due to the "first come, first serve" policy but I didn't have that option so I booked an appointment with 17th Street Automotive for the same day. As soon as I walked into the office, I was happily greeted by Kristen and another worker. They both were extremely pleasant and personable. I was quoted a service time of about an hour and a half and was offered beverages while I wait, which was a very nice gesture. My state inspection was completed after an hour and a half, just as they quoted me. Kristen was very informative with the things they found during the inspection and with how amazing their customer service was, I would definitely return to get my car serviced with them. I was given a free car freshener once the service was complete and told them I would tell everyone I knew about the exceptional experience I had with their business. If you are looking for same-day inspections or in need of any car services, I highly recommend checking out 17th Street Automotive.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

I really hate having to leave negative reviews. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt…read more However, this has unfortunately been the worst car buying experience I've ever had, by far. And I've bought numerous cars over the years. Buckle up, it's a somewhat long story, but I have to share it. I bought a used 2021 Toyota Corolla from these guys recently, and made my mistake of not test driving it first, and trusted their word, and trusted that a Toyota Corolla is a reliable car to purchase. When I received the car, I didn't even make it out of my neighborhood before noticing it grinding gears when downshifting into 2nd and it didn't want to stay in that gear. Coming from a previous car with endless issues, my heart sank. I called the dealership and the manager (John, I think?) dismissed everything I said and hung up on me. I called Moose again and he gave me the owner Tim's number. Tim was more responsive and understanding and they sent someone to come pickup the car, who also confirmed the issue. Since it was under their 3000mile warranty they decided to put another transmission in it. He claimed it was a new transmission. He offered to put a new clutch in it also, as long as I paid for the parts, which I agreed to at the time, but his "transmission guy said the clutch is fine," so they opted not to. Now, here I am less than 10k miles later, and the clutch has failed. The trusted mechanic I took the car to also told me that they installed a "junkyard transmission." I respectfully and politely called Tim to get some answers and see what they would do about it, and he still claims it's a new transmission, and that he would talk to his transmission guy again, but hasn't sent me any proof of that, and has now stopped answering phone calls and hasn't returned any calls. I do not have and would've never expected to put $3000 into repairs of a car that I just purchased. A 2021 Toyota Corolla with transmission AND clutch failure within 10k miles seems like something an experienced car dealership and "transmission guy" should've been able to catch before it got to my hands. I bought this car for the sole purpose of having a reliable vehicle for my family, and it's been a nightmare since day one. I was (and still am) only hoping they would do the right thing and handle this issue. Incredibly disappointed.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! WILL SELL YOU A CAR WITH ISSUES!…read more Sold me a broken 9000$ car for 16,000$. The next morning after buying the car I heard a terrible grinding noise (shown in video) upon starting up. After a quick google search i realized it was a common issue with 2010 Honda Crvs to have the VCT Actuactor fail at 100,000 miles. Since the car was at 107,000 miles I knew this was the issue. I went back to show them the terrible noise, and they told me I was turning the key too far causing the grinding noise as i show in the second video that in fact does not happen with this car, as it has a feature that prevents that from happening. Do not let the positive reviews make you disregard the negative ones because that is what I did. This man sells cars with a ridiculous amount of repairs needed. We tried to support a family owned and Black owned dealership but this man CLEARLY gives us a bad rap. My radiator was hanging on by ZIP TIES! There was a rat or mouse in the glove box because there was droppings in the glove box! I have pictures to prove anything so I want him to try to deny ANYTHING. The vehicle was clearly in a wreck once we got two mechanics to look at it. Don't let that smile fool you. I accepted 500$ for repairs because that was the most they were willing to give me. Paid 7k for a vehicle That has several thousand dollars in repairs. Yes the vehicles are bought AS IS but there is a fine line before completely selling someone a bad vehicle. We are protected by the vehicles state inspection and there were several issues (tires wheels and brakes included) that would have made this vehicle IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS INSPECTION even though it had up to date inspection. They have a mechanic on site that they know and im sure they have various connections that will pass them for inspection. I had to replace all my tires and wheels they weren't up to the state standard. Crystal tried to resolve the situation but her morality begins to be questioned when working for a CROOK (regardless of who he is to you) Remember their job is to make the most profit possible! Buy cars at a low price and sell for highest price possible! Its your choice but please choose wisely
