I totally disagree with the other review! I have been going here for almost 2 years now, would I keep going back if I didn't like the quality and service? Just like anyone, we have our good days and the bad and some days they are crazy busy and some days just empty. The only reason that I would not give a 5 is that, yes some of the staff have a bit of attitude at times but certainly not everyday that I have been there. I think it is just a matter of how they handle their emotions in the workplace. Overall they are friendly, know my style and colors I like. If you want "spa" feeling, this is not the place, it is a place to get your nails done and maybe a quick wax. The basic pedi is a "basic" so if you want something "fancier" ask for it! They have a menu but if you go in and ask for a pedi, you are going to get the basics because they are not the type that will try to sell you more just because they can-if you want more ASK! They are clean and family run! If I ever have a problem with a chip/repair, they are happy to help. Prices are average when it comes to fake nails/polish. I will continue to go back even though I pass about 10 different nail places along my way to them, they are so worth it! read more

Really terrible...stopped here in a whim for a basic mani on Christmas Eve as I was visiting my boyfriend's family and not familiar with the area, but the reviews were pretty positive so I thought I'd give it a try. The polish selection is minimal and they are not organized by color but rather this new system of all over the place... made it really difficult to choose the correct shade. I found the stations very dirty... the towel that my hands rested on didn't look clean and should have been placed over the arm rest padding to be sanitary but was not. My tech didn't start on my nails until 15 min after my appt start time... kept going in the back room (for waxing I think) with other clients. Then there was confusion on who would be doing my nails.. that took another 10 min. The basic mani is $12 so you would think you would get the BASICS of a mani done well (filing, cuticles) since like nothing else is included BUT that...but nope, first time ever that filing has been a painful experience for me!! The tech was moving the file back and forth so rough and then didn't even go over the edges to smooth them out or buff out my nail beds, so I had rough edges after leaving that kept scratching my skin. Not to mention the shapes of the filing was horrible... each nail had a different shape... and some lopsided and uneven. The cuticle removal was okay... but rushed and no oils or anything placed on them after. So once the filing and cuticles were done, I had a lotion rubbed on my hands WITH the rough nail particles all over my hands still... not really something I've ever experienced. Then I was told to wash my hands off (?! What was the point of the lotion) and returned to my seat to find my nails had hanging pieces of nail on the ends-the tech left these there of course. No usual cleaning of my nail beds before applying polish (usually a swipe of rubbing alcohol to help with a smooth application) The nail polish was by far the worst polish job I have seen...polish left on my skin and cuticles, and the area around my cuticles was bumpy. After finishing using her tools, she placed them back in the same container that she took them out of...without cleaning them first. So wait, is she planning on taking these out to clean then and then putting them back in the dirty container?! She should have applied 3 coats of polish considering mine was slightly light but only two were applied but you would have thought she would have seen the inconsistency of application amongst all my nails (some thick and some very thin). I then asked if there was an additional fee to have a design on one finger and the girl told me she didn't understand what I was asking and then said no... well you can bet I got changed $5 extra for this. Then after drying, I asked for application of the finishing spray that EVERY salon does at the end and they looked at me like I was crazy, one lady finally rolled her eyes and pulled out the can from behind the counter. Needless to say, my nails started chipping the next day. Every nail was chipped within 3 days. Do not recommend!!! Waste of money. I live in Chicago and I go to a place regularly that charges $12 for a basic mani which includes SO MUCH MORE than this service... you get: hand and arm scrub, very careful filing, thoroughly cleaned cuticles and nails, hand massage complete with lotion and oils, NO polish left on your skin, not to mention very clean stations and polish application. That doesn't look like I did it myself. This salon needs to take some tips from good salons! read more

This has been my go to since I moved to S. Naperville (4 years ago). I've even brought along family time to time. I called TK nails today (realized later I called the wrong location) but anyways walked in at 6:30 saying I'd like a mani/pedi. The owner/manager says ok pick out a nail color. I turn to pick out a color and I hear her say very loudly that when it's time to close everyone wants to come in without an appointment. I turned around and said I called and someone said it was ok (before I realized I called the wrobg location). But regardless so rude! After me one more person came in and I was done before their closing time at 8. Don't post walk ins welcome if they really aren't or speak up that you're booked! I should of walked out but I didn't. I've been here twice with my girlfriends. First time wasn't great but not terrible. I got a no chip mani and it chipped within the week. This time I left furious. I got a full set of acrylic nails done for my wedding shower and a pedicure to match. I asked the girl to push back my cuticles and trim them and she said she would. She started my nails and I began pushing them back myself since she wasn't. She then assured me she would do it. She continued my nails and is nearly done with them and tells me after the acrylic is done that to clean up my cuticles is a manicure and would cost more. I then stated it was too late now and I'd do it myself since I was so upset. I pointed out the big glob of glue she left on my nail from the gem and she said "its fine no big deal". I looked at her dumb founded and left. When I got home I looked at my toes and noticed how terrible of a job they did on those, too!! I have not had this bad of an experience with any nail place I have gone to. I will never be back there and do not recommend anyone go here. read more

I liked this place for a while and it's not bad. The last two times I went my nails chipped though. I had a no chip and they chipped a little before the two week mark (to be fair I was on vacation and not sure if going in the ocean and sand affected them at all). This time I tried the gel dip that is supposed to last for a month and the tops of them started chipping within the first week. It's not super noticeable, but if I pay $40 I could get it done elsewhere better. read more

The gentleman who did my pedicure rushed through, didn't massage my feet at all, in fact didn't even touch the bottoms of my feet besides to scrub them quickly with the hard sponge thing for about 5 seconds total. I don't review businesses often but I had some issues with this particular salon. First, the good: there was no wait, walk ins were fine, easy to get to this location, and the services are cheaper than the location across town. The negatives: the male manicurist filed my nails very low even though I asked that they just be squared, he rubbed the top of my nails so hard that the skin around my middle finger broke and bled which was painful, they did not use new tools after every manicure (used the same plastic container), the manicurist was more interested in watching tv and turned around several times, and the color was uneven between nails. I definitely won't be going back just based off the tools not being new between customers. read more

Allright so I really did enjoy the environment of this place and the one guy who did my nails was very nice. But I give it 3 stars because it seemed like he was in so much of a rush to just get it done with. And when I got out of the salon (which I had got acrylics done) I realized he pushed back the skin so much he broke the skin. I don't think that's supposed to happen. Let me first say that I have been coming here for years, have referred MANY people here and have always had nothing but wonderful things to say UNTIL yesterday. I went in for Mom/daughter mani/pedis with my daughter and instead of going to my regular technician, Ree (because my daughter wanted her to do her nails), another technician provided my services. At first his flippant remarks and sarcasm were cute, albeit annoying. I just figured he was young and immature. When I mentioned wanting a manicure, he turned up his nose and told me my nails were too short and to let them grow first. Only later to try to get me to get a dip powder manicure. I prefer my nails short and only wanted a manicure. I ended up going home and doing my own manicure. Back to my pedicure ... I get the same color every time; have for years and have my own stash of the color (Essie's turquoise and caicos), but my daughter had talked me in to getting OPI's Funny Bunny. He immediately turned up his nose and said, "No, too light and everyone gets that." Ohhhhkay, I thought I was the customer, but whatever. I was on the fence anyway about it, so I pulled out my 'go to' color. It goes on light and requires 3 coats. He rolled his eyes and said, "This is too light and watery. Pick another color!" To which I replied, "No, I get this color every time. It's the color you just removed from my toes. Just do 3 coats, please." This went on for a few minutes .. him refusing and me insisting until I firmly asked him to put on the color of MY choice. He opened the bottle; mumbling and proceeded to slap the polish on my toes. My regular tech, Ree, was right next to him working on my daughter and appeared to be mortified. After he was done, she asked me if I was okay. I told her that I wasn't but I would be. She said to come to her next time and all would be okay. And I believe that, but I cant say that I am eager to ever go back. Had my daughter not been with me and in the middle of her wonderful experience with Ree, I would've walked out without getting my toes polished. I. Was. Pissed. So upset that I didn't want to talk to the owners about it, who were both there, and left my phone on the counter and had to go back to get it. Loc and Jenny are wonderful and have always been kind to me and my daughter as well as every other staff member. But this young man needs a lesson in customer service. STAT! read more

I have been going to the salon for the past 12 years and have had nothing but fantastic, quality service. Jenny and her husband are the owners and I have my nails done by Jenny, however all of her staff is fully qualified and wonderful and efficient. My pedicures are performed by other professionals that work for the salon. The salon is very clean and well kept and prices are very reasonable. They accept appointments and walk ins and are very accommodating and efficient even when they are extremely busy. They stand by their work. I am always completely satisfied whenever I leave there and have been for the past 12 years and i go every month. read more

I seriously have been going here for 6 years and at this point I will never leave Jenni unless I have to fly back to get here. The main thing I like about Jenni is that I have been getting my nails done for 25 years and I know what I like. She is so good about letting me say - I don't like this or can we fix that. I have even asked her to fix a toenail, and do somethings maybe not on her regular schedule of events and she is always accommodating. Sometime language barriers can be tough, and cultural difference too may cause an obstacle with communication - but honestly she is so good, patient and really has the best interest of the customer in mind I would stop by and check her out! read more

I liked it. My pedicure felt great, but the polish job was bad two times in a row (6 weeks apart). There was polish over the edges and the shape leaves much to be desired. The first time, I got a manicure, which lasted 3 days. The next time, I got acrylic nails which looked great! At this salon, it is all about the technician. One was not good (pedicure), the manicurist was alright, and the one who gave me tips was very good and nice. Went in yesterday for no chip and polish change on my toes. The guy didn't bother to take all the old polish off. When I mentioned it he said it wouldn't come off and you won't see it. Guess what - this morning I see old cracked pink polish by the cuticle! Also had to tell him to cut down my pinky nail because it was way longer than the others AND had to make him file a cracked nail instead of just throwing polish on. He also made me bleed! Lazy and just wrong--unless you are willing to wait for a specific employee, don't bother!! read more

Most places make me feel rushed and end up not doing a very good job but this place I have been going to for almost a year now and have proven to be the best nail salon around to me! Anytime I don't have time to make it out to them and I try to go to a different salon I always end up disappointed but never when I go to Tk Nails! I was introduced to TK my good friend who had been going there for several years since he was a kid! if you're looking to get your nails done and be able to have in the way you want them I would suggest TK nails! This place is a disaster! I went there for a pink and white fill. The person that did my nails took short cuts to get me out as fast as possible. I have been doing pink and white acrylics for about 6 years. That being said, I have become very aware of the procedure to be used. I work in a salon, so I was told the topcoat they use will not stain from rinsing out hair color. The next day, my whites were brown after a day of work. To make it worse, each one of my nails had a different shape. Less than one week later, every nail was lifting. When I went back to confront them, they told me there was nothing wrong with my nails. I showed her how they were different shapes, and she replied with "that's normal." It's not normal. They refused to give me my money back. I would not recommend going here to anyone. read more

This is the first time I am leaving a negative review about anything. I had a regular french manicure done at TK Nails. The nail technician tried to up sell me 4 times to get no chip. She said regular manicure will peel off in 3 days and no chip will last 2 weeks. This was not my first manicure so I know regular will last 2 weeks with proper polish applied. She purposely used cheap polish with a Hello Kitty cap on my nails. Even after putting a nice top coat on at home they still peeled after 1 day! I will not be back. Go to Buffed or D'Vine in Plainfield. Both salons gave me better manicures. read more

Not clean! So, I have gone two times with a girlfriend to TK Nails on Book/95th. We both had a mani/pedi. The first time I noticed it didn't seem clean and they do not follow Health Dept. guidelines for cleaning the utensils, tubs, etc.. The place was very crowded with customers,so I thought maybe I was missing something? Went back last week and both my friend and I were grossed out! They do not wash the bowl you soak your hand in for manicures. They actually rinse the used pedicure utensials in the dirty tub water that you soak your feet in. They don't sanitize the tub for the next person (just a little spray and rinse). I never saw them wash their own hands between clients. After she cut my cuticles, etc. during the manicure, she just puts everything in her drawer for next client! Yuck! Are they nice? Yes. Do your nails look good when you leave? Yes. Are they cheap? Yes. So, if that is what is important to you, you will like them. If you don't want to get nail fungus...stay away! read more

I brought my nieces in to have their nails done for graduation, one lady great, the other probably really didn't want to be there. She eventually did my manicure, she was trying to be a receptionist answer phones, find out what type of services people wanted when they walked in, left in the middle of my service to start pedicures. Do not go here! I had wanted acrylics for a really big event coming up so I had called them to inquire about their prices. They had told me it costs $25 for plain acrylics and $5+ for a design. So I had gone to the salon to be told that it costs $40 for the acrylics. Distraught I had asked for gel nails with a gradient, they said my nails were too short and proceded to paint the whole nail the same color. Went to TK nails as it was highly recommended..however I would never go back. I had a shellac manicure and the lady made me bleed on three of my cuticles, and my shellac started chipping within 4 days. My pedicure was the worst I've ever had. I could have done a better job. Paid $5 for a design and they didn't let it dry before putting the top coat and it smudged. I complained and they offered to re do my shellac. They were clearly not happy about it and the lady rushed the whole thing and was paying more attention to other things going on in the salon. She tried convincing me to keep the same colour but I wanted a different colour in case it was the polish that made it chip. I picked a colour and she told me no I couldn't use that one and made me pick a different colour. And sure enough, AGAIN 3 days later they are already chipping. I've never had shellac chip before ! Will never return nor would I recommend this place! read more

This was my first experience having nails put on and taken off. Having them put on I was pleased. Very friendly and did a nice job. I went back in 10 days later to have them taken off and had a very different experience. He (I believe it was the owner) trimmed the fake nail first then started to pry them off my fingers. When he saw it hurt me he would say almost done stop on that side of the nail and start on other side. I left with injured nails that hurt. My finger nails were jagged and pieces coming off. He even asked me who put the nails on - I guess thinking it was my first time in his store. Very disappointed and I will not go there again! read more

It was great getting a pedicure here. Cost was very reasonable and no appointment was needed. I got the honey pedicure which exfoliated both my feet and legs. And she only charged $25. I left the nail salon with light feet that smelled great, felt great, and looked great. I definitely recommend this place over many others for they offer great service for such low prices. I've also been known to go in for fill ins for acrylics and that I can tell you I am very picky but everything they do is absolutely amazing, and no complaints here. read more

I have been going to TK Nails over 7 years. Jenny is amazing. She takes pride in her work. The salon is clean and everyone is very friendly. When you have an appointment she takes you on time. She has a high work ethic and makes sure that her employees are just as good as she is. I am ALWAYS so satisfied with my nails and I am constantly getting compliments on them. I've never been treated so rudely! I visited this salon last Friday, by Saturday my "no chip " manicure started to chip. I called the salon right away and told the nail tech the Polish had started to chip. I told him that I work late hours so I would not be able to come back until the next Friday (one week later) to have the repairs fixed. He said no problem. I was not upset about having to go back and get it repaired , even though it was inconvenient. What I am upset about is being treated poorly. When I went in today they were rude about repairing it and said it's not guaranteed to not chip . He said his customers come in once a week to have the "no chip "redone. He accused me of lying saying I told the nail tech I spoke to that it was just one nail , not five. To my understanding, it should last a couple weeks. If it only lasts two days , I wouldn't have spent $ 58.00 for a manicure pedicure just to have it chip in two days. This salon needs work on their technique with manicures and also their POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Don't go to this salon and expect to be treated with any sort of customer care!! read more
