On February 10, 2022, I bought my 2002 Chevrolet Corvette from Constantine at TK Motors. Three (3) days after buying my car, the locking mechanism stopped working so I had to purchase another key and replace the ignition cylinder. Although frustrating to have to incur such an expense after owning the car for a very short period of time, I was still happy with my car.
When I bought my car, the previous owner had personalized plates on it; however, Constantine offered to submit the paperwork to the DMV on my behalf to get regular plates, one less thing for me to worry about so I paid the requested fees and trusted him to do his part, which he did not.
It's been three (3) months, my temporary license plates have expired and I still have not received my new plates from the DMV or Constantine. I contacted Constantine and asked about my plates and instead of admitting he forgot to submit the paperwork to the DMV like he said he would, and it's what I believe happened, he tells me my plates were probably lost in the mail. Highly unlikely as I've never known the DVM or the US Postal Service to ever "lose" someone's license plates during delivery.
Dealing with Constantine has been a nightmare. His lack of professionalism and customer service is beyond poor. Instead of trying to help me, he just states there's nothing he can do and directs me to a "business associate" named Judith and says for me as the new owner to follow up also with the DMV.
After speaking with Judith, it turns out she's not his business associate and hardly knows who he is. After confirming what I thought to be the truth, she insinuated that Constatine forgot to order my new plates, therefore, her solution was to charge me an additional $60.00 on top of what I already paid to have new plates issued to me.
I got back in contact with Constantine and he then puts the blame on me. Telling me I must have misunderstood Judith. He then tells me the plates must have been lost in a bin somewhere because he checks his mail regularly and the plates never came back to him. Constantine again calls me and tells me it would be faster to just deal with Judith instead of the DMV since the temporary plates are now expired.
Finally tired of all the back and forth, I went to AAA and got a membership, new plates, and registration for around the same price as Judith's services.
