Buyers beware! I've checked several car shops in OC. While others obviously act as overpriced scammers, people in DriveSmart are more slick. However, it all comes down to the same story. It's true that they have the most affordable cars. However, still overpriced and a bit questionable. They stand out because they sell old cars. I specifically interacted with Brian. Seeing his Instagram account and other reviews with his photos, my hopes were high. He (and other staff) were very kind and flexible as I looked at cars and test drove. However, as soon as it came to the selling point, he became all smirky and way more assertive, borderline passive aggresive. You can definitely see how he flips the board and even asks suggestive questions, making you question your decisions and views. I had my eye on one car which was overpriced by at least 50%. Brian offered $1000 discount, which would still result with a way too high price. However, then he judged me by suggesting how generous he was. Not true, because lowering the price for $1000 would still make me pay way too much. Overall, I didn't feel so pleasant and respected - at least, not after I asked for a lower price. And trust me, I really didn't intend to lowball - their prices are really too high. Remember: they don't appear as sneaky as others, but they come down to be the exact same. Unpleasantly surprised with Brian, who put so much into his brand, only to lack genuity and sincerity. P. S. I bought a car elsewhere in the end (in a way better condition). For those looking for a car: just be persistent! You'll find a fair deal eventually. read more
