The bread in the banh mi is really good; very fresh and just the right amount of chewiness. The banh mi is smaller than other places, but just as tasty. The pate on the banh mi was perfect and I thought the ratio with the meat and veggies was good. The sugar cane juice was also really good; not too sweet. We ordered when we arrived, but it didn't take too long to order. Though, initially we were given an order that wasn't ours and when my husband grabbed his cafe sua da, it spilled on him. But they were very apologetic and gave him another cup. I'd definitely recommend checking out Avian for their banh mi if you're in the area.

This is in a plaza with a small parking lot so parking can be a challenge during peak hours.

I've been to doughnut shops all over San Diego and my family used to own the greatest doughnut shop (I used to crave them every morning before I got to work). Let me tell you, TK doughnuts are the only ones who rival my family's doughnuts. You won't be able to find crispy doughnuts anywhere else but here, not sure how it is even possible. I've tried all their doughnuts and they're all delicious. I almost gave up looking for good doughnut places, but glad I gave this one a try before I did. Yes, this place looks a little outdated, but who cares! The food and service makes up for it. They do also have bagels available if you decide to order for your office. Linda's Donut Shop is one of only a few businesses in this small plaza, of which one is a pretty popular taco shop. Just a few shared parking spaces were available so it could get tricky depending on the time of the day. The operating hours were limited to the morning except on weekends when the shop closes at 1 pm. I arrived shortly before noon which meant a good chunk of the daily inventory had already been sold out. That included all of the jelly filled varieties which was one type that I really wanted to try. Those sold for $2.50 each while the frosted and plain cake choices were $2.25 apiece. A half dozen would set you back $13 and a full dozen cost $23. I sure miss the days when one could purchase a dozen for less than ten dollars! My picks were a plain glazed bar, chocolate glazed, and a strawberry glazed topped with rainbow sprinkles. Each one was pillowy soft and still fairly fresh. The best one was the plain bar for its simplicity. I am not sure that they were worth $2+ a pop though. I was happy to support a local business, however there are many more choices of donut purveyors nowadays so it's unlikely I will return here.
