I've been coming here since my kids was little. I love their pastry and would often buy it for gifts for the teacher or my doctors. The bahn mi is sooo good! They also some Vietnamese dessert that's also delicious. It's really hard to find che in SD. I'm glad that they have some variety. Service is always excellent. They are so quick with getting my food and drinks made. I always come in the afternoon where it's a bit more quiet. The place is big with parking in the front so it's nice and convenient. Good place to get your snackies and coffee or other drinks.

Usually hit or miss... but mostly a hit when I'm starving and just want a banh mi to fix my life for a second. I still think about the pickled daikon and carrots from here. They're cut thicker than most spots which gives that really satisfying crunch. K Sandwiches has been around for years and is kind of a staple in this area. It's one of those reliable sandwich spots people have been going to forever. I remember coming here as a child with my family and a lot has changed since then. They now offer way more drinks, both handcrafted and bottled, plus a bigger selection of snacks and hot foods. I even found a bag of gummies I've been looking for everywhere... even H Mart didn't have them. Felt like I found treasure for $2.50, which is honestly one of those little wins in life. There are kiosks you can order from, or you can go up to the register, especially if you're paying cash or grabbing snacks and drinks. It was fairly busy around 1:30pm, which makes sense with all the nearby schools and businesses. We got the pate only banh mi and the #12 pork patty (nem nuong). I liked the kiosk ordering because you can customize everything. I added extra pickles and cilantro, and there's even an option to add sliced white onions which I appreciated. Both sandwiches were solid, but not as good as I remembered. The pickles didn't have that same punch. The brine leaned more light and slightly sweet, and I wish it had more acidity to balance out the richness of the pate and mayo. The cilantro was fresh overall, but some stems had a bit of browning which didn't affect taste too much, just the look. I also asked for both sandwiches to be cut in half but only one was. The bread didn't feel as fresh either.None of these are huge issues on their own, but together they do take away from what could've been a really great banh mi. I'll probably still come back when the craving hits, but it's one of those spots that can be really good... just not always consistent.

K Sandwiches is a must try, super affordable Vietnamese market serving up some of the BEST Banh Mi Sandwiches is San Diego. This Linda Vista hot spot bakes their own bread and pastries fresh daily and let me tell you, they are delicious - the crunch on the outside and the softness on the inside - perfection! I ordered the Grilled Beef (Bo Nuong) Banh Mi sandwich with extra veggies ($8.25) - so yummy! I think the last time I was here was before the building burned down. Now, after rebuilding years later, I came back to visit and got some banh mi. It's been a long, long time! I got the #1 banh mi and it was fresh and delicious. They have two kiosks on the left side now so if you want, you could put in the order yourself or you can wait in the line for a cashier. Most people ordered from the cashier. I wanted to grab some pastries too, but knew I would be ordering 3 banh mis to last me a couple of days, so I didn't want to be a piggy. I ate one and it was filling and satisfied and saved the other two for later! I enjoyed my sandwich at the shop and it didn't look like anyone was bussing or cleaning so I wiped the table off myself before eating my sandwich. They don't have napkins out so I only got my napkins that came in the bag that they put my sandwiches in.

I ordered a spicy mayo shrimp sandwich because I was abstaining from meat but got one with shredded pork. I took it for lunch while taking a test, so I couldn't get other food. It might have been my fault for not checking the order, but mistaking this for something completely different is quite bad.

I hadn't been here since it previously burned down years ago! I love that they have the same great service & friendly staff! I really like their options I went for the K special and the passion fruit green tea iced! The bread definitely makes this sandwich, the baguette was so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! I got it to go, but there is seating available inside and out of you want to eat there.

Love this place! Great spot for lunch or breakfast, lots of drink options, variety of sandwiches with nice fresh crunchy bread. They also have croissant sandwiches for breakfast. Love. You can either order at counter or there's a self order kiosk if you're an introvert or need more time lol. Clean, bright shop. Indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of parking!

#9 Grilled Pork (Thit Nuong)

Pork Banh Mi ($7.95) - This was a delicious, bang for your buck meal! The highlight was the pork, which was perfectly sweet and flavorful. The toppings and baguette complimented the meat so well. This is my new favorite banh mi!

#4 Pate Cold Cut Ham (Pate Thit Nguoi)
Tiffany L.

Banh mi was alright--the bread had a firm bite and lacked the crispy flakiness and the toppings/pate were nothing special. I really liked the pickled veggies, but the jalapeno had no spice to it. Viet coffee was really good, def bang for your buck because it's super strong and not majority ice like how other banh mi spots do it. I'd come back for the drinks and other miscellaneous things they sell here, like the to-go meals, pastries, and $2 bag of banh mi ends (which I think is genius and very not wasteful of them to do).

#1 K's Special ( K Dac Biet) sandwich and Large Milk Coffee
Jamie L.

your one-stop shop for vietnamese goodies featuring made-to-order drinks, including the infamous viet iced coffee, and banh mi. there's also a variety of snacks, desserts, baked goods and to go food items. i had the #1 K's Special ( K Dac Biet) sandwich and a Large Milk Coffee. the baguette is a nice balance of toasted outside and fluffly inside that didn't cut the roof of my mouth. you can order with staff or at a kiosk. plenty of parking in the lot and seating inside and outside.

Fresh pastries

This is my go to place for yummy pastries!! I love anything cream cheese filled. They have strawberry, blueberry, and regular cream cheese filled. They also have a variety of mini pastries that are good for bringing to gatherings! It's a quick and easy shop to just grab and go. You can also order food such as sandwiches for lunch or breakfast. They are made to order and given to you in a timely manner. They have indoor and outdoor seating. With the indoor seating having windows to look out from. Overall, it's an easy place to grab a quick snack and go!

Came back to this place after moving 2 years ago and the pastries are exactly how I remember them! Sooo delicious! The prices have definitely gone up which is a bummer and they're still not super filled (like the chocolate croissant) but I've always loved how they turned out regardless. I also got a veggie Bahn Mi and it's exactly how I remember it also! I highly suggest adding a dressing to it so it doesn't taste as dry. Customer service was typical- nice people, rang me up and I was on my way. They have a decent amount of a seating area, it's clean, parking can be tight sometimes Can't wait to be back!

#10 Grilled Beef (Bo Nuong)
Salman S.

Stopped by K sandwiches after trying the nearby Drip Beans (viet coffee shop) for lunch. Picked up a grilled beef BahnMi sandwich. The shop was packed as it was lunch time but the sandwich was ready in about five minutes. The bread was fresh and toasted well. The beef was cut thick and well seasoned with a healthy serving of pickled veggies and cilantro. Great place to stop for banh mi if in the neighborhood. Plenty of parking available as well.

Still my go to place when I'm craving something sweet and special. Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

Also just so everyone is aware they're also liars just to mention & stupid.. she tells us her name is Karen thinking we don't know the owners name lol .. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .

Flour Atelier is a small bakery right next to the hovering Mitsuwa. They carry two refrigerated sections' worth of original treats and pastries, many with Asian flavors such as their ube leche flan and calamansi cheesecake. I'm a gluten free girly nowadays, but when I could eat their desserts I did love their cheesecake: a balance of cream-to-crust is important to me. And those flavors? Standout. Hard to find many other places. They also have tea and coffee, and my husband and I LOVE their hojicha latte, which boasts a nice earthy-to-sweet ratio. If you want a grounded flavor without getting another coffee, try the hojicha latte! The store itself is quite small, selling sweet treats, drinks, and even flowers through a collaboration with a florist. They have about 4 tables outside -- recommended for small parties, unless you come when it's empty with a group. BIG TIP: Bring your mother or mother-in-law here to impress -- that is, if she likes cute, sweet treats and a tea party vibe! My mom always loves coming here, and bringing the whole family, too Keep up the great work Flour Atelier!

Many reviews have noted this, and I would have to agree, especially for the size (crepe cake slices) and/or simple design (two layer naked cakes). We ended up trying a slice of their taro crepe cake. It was tasty - light, smooth, and included real taro - and had alternating layers of cream and taro; however, we were surprised with how small it was in person (vs photos) for $12.50 before tax. This is just below the price for an Extraordinary Desserts cake slice, which is not only bigger and more complex, but also made fresh. We noticed the crepe cake slice we got had that dusting of ice sparkles, indicating it was frozen and defrosting, and additionally, as it defrosted, the more it started leaning. If you haven't tried Yiko Yiko, it's worth still checking out. That said, I think you'll be satisifed after one or two visits.

Lines are always better with a friend and even though we all arrived before opening there was still a healthy line. I was really excited, to finally get to check them out, I saw on their socials that a new chef had taken residency and that they came with some Filipino flair. As a fellow Filipino I definitely wanted to support. I ended up ordering a lumpia roll, ube butter ensaymada, a halo halo tart and a egg sando sandwich along with an iced matcha with honey, with tip my total was $48, which isn't horrible considering these are meant to be higher quality pastries. My girlfriends and I found a table and decided we would share, I shared my egg sando sandwich and the lumpia roll, while they shared their ube butter ensaymada and the turon kouign amann. My matcha, was a horrible, it was a muddy green and really lacked any matcha flavor, my friend didn't like her matcha either and she had the miso caramel matcha. I didn't even finish my matcha and I can really take one down. We joked about how we should have opted for the orange juice instead. Now for the pastries, I was really underwhelmed by them, the ensaymada was just fine, I honestly cannot remember the taste of it, it lacked something. The egg sando sandwich, the filling was plentiful and flavorful BUT the bread was dry, was that potato bread? The texture was off for me and I ended up just scooping out the filling and eating it like that. Where the sando had a good amount of filling the lumpia roll lacked it, it was so sparse I figured it would be more like a sausage roll so I was taken aback by how little there was in it. Flavors were fine, the pastry was buttery but I just wanted a little more. The one pastry we agreed was better than the rest was the turon kouign amann, the crunchy bits of sugar was so reminiscent of turon but the filling, for me was like uncooked banana bread batter, that threw me off entirely. It was better, but not the filling. So overall, I would say it was okay, I guess for the costs it just didn't meet my expectations.

The middle section had pistachio frangipane (or it looked like it) with coarsely chopped pistachios that brought another layer of crunch! Then to top it all off, it had pistachio cream on top of the cookie! I only wish I got another one. CAPPUCCINO It was okay. But love the foam! It was frothy and foamy! PAVLOVA The meringue was a bit too hard and too sweet and the pastry cream was overwhipped. Loved the fresh fig and blueberries though. I was looking forward to eating pavlova and this was very disappointing! KOUIGN AMANN Very buttery and sticky! Crispy on the outside. Every bite was not dry, but chewy. There was this sticky and chewy texture that wasn't unpleasant, yet it wasn't fully flaky like a croissant. But glad it was not dry! The kouign amann was not as tall like others I've tried, but I preferred it this way because it was not dry. The last kouign amann I had from Bread Lounge was dryyyy. But bought mine at a coffee shop too. PAIN AU CHOCOLAT Crispy on the outside, but I must have toasted a bit more, so the outside was a bit more toasted than desired. Inside was good. Good dark chocolate. BUTTER CROISSANT Really buttery, flaky, crispy! Ate it next day, so reheated it in the toaster oven to bring a more crispness all around. Really enjoyed this! Adding butter and jam is so good! LEMON MERINGUE Meringue had a strong eggy smell and flavor, the lemon was tangy, but not enough to rid of the eggy smell and flavor. The tart was hard and almost stale. I took a few bites and threw the rest out. PAIN SUISSE Chocolate flavor. Crispy on the outside, fluffy like a light spongy cake inside. Enjoyed this! CUSTOMER SERVICE Got there early afternoon. There was only one person in front of me. Good service overall. Quick service. Hits and misses of the various pastries I've tried. It will not deter me from trying their pastries though, as the really good ones were really good! Would love to return! Especially for that Choco Chip Pistachio Cookie!
