I love me some TJ Maxx! The Santa Rosa store is clean and organized, which makes shopping here dreamy. I am a thrifter at heart, and TJ Maxx fulfills the thrill of the hunt. I'm able to go in looking for nothing in particular, and leave with a new tan and gold can opener and a Pusheen cat bed at amazingly affordable prices! This is probably one of the worst TJ maxx I have been to. Everytime I go here I wait longer in line than how long I shop and that says a lot. I waited in line for 15-20 minutes. I couldn't imagine if an older person was waiting and couldn't stand that long. The last time I was here was August 9th at around 6pm and never again. The line was all the way out to the clothing area and I wonder why. Well when you get up to the front of the line you will understand. There was one point where no one was being helped. All the Cashier's were doing something else and no one was being helped for at least a minute and line just out to the clothing area. Where are the managers? The employees were walking around and literally doing nothing and no sense of urgency. The only person who looked like a manager was near the exit and standing there waiting for something and not doing anything. Spoke to a well dressed gentle boy named Matt C the supposed store man. Matty stated not much cheap Snoopy Gear so I needed a phone charge proceeded to back of store to go potty. This is a pretty decent T.J.Maxx to go visit. I've been a mini TJ Max's in my travels, and know that the selection can vary from store to store that being said this place is okay. Not the best TJ Maxx I've ever been in, but it does have a pretty decent selection of clothing, and HomeGoods. It's definitely completely accessible right off of the freeway and and has decent parking. The one thing I have noticed about most TJ Maxx stores, and this one included, is the lack of double extra large size clothing. Now, this could just be a regional thing but I've experienced that at multiple TJ Maxx stores. So that was a little bit of a disappointment for me being that I am a larger man, and need a double extra large because I have broad shoulders. Or at least that's the lie I told myself. Bottom line? Whenever I'm in Santa Rosa I will come check this place out, because it's one of the few TJ Max's that's nearby where I stay. read more

Been going in store for years. Bargain-hunting can yield good finds. Found nice skirt in store too big, so decided to order correct size online. What a mistake. Was sent skort instead of skirt; clearly different item than pictured online. Online customer service non existent. Online exchanges not permitted. No refunded shipping. Really wanted the skirt and figured maybe a warehouse error, so re-ordered after returning skort to store. Another skort arrived. Again, returned item to store, this time with documentation in hand and my story. As a long-time patron and this 2x-error not my own, it could be righted by issuing store credit in the amount of the shipping. Attitudinal associate wouldn't take my word, regardless of receipt and documentation, instead dourly insisting to see order on my phone. She and "Manager" conversed in Spanish and I was eventually refunded for skort only. Associate dismissed me, mumbled something about inconvenience, and shouted, "Next!". Ever since that online order, SO many spam calls. TJM had immediately sold my information worse than any other company. One star out of irritation and no acknowledgement for loyalty (first world trouble). And one star because it is (was) a source of ok goods at ok prices. I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

This is a rating based on what happened to me today. An employee rammed a tall heavy rolling cart/tower into me today. He was surprised I was in the aisle and said he didn't see me. Apparently he was unable to operate this tall, large heavy tower storage thing properly. It hurt and was very upsetting to me. I was sideways to the aisle looking at product and BAM it hit me and it hurt and was a shock to me. To me it is obvious that there needs to be two people moving this thing. Warning: Don't buy shoes from this store!! I bought a pair of heels on Sunday and wore them ONLY twice to work. The heel was broken and the cheap soles was peeling off. Shitty quality. 2 Stars downgrade merely based on men's clothing inventory. Seriously pitiful. Sparsely populated hangers. Mostly tee-shirts, casual clothes. The men's section barely takes up 5% of the store's floor space. If I'm looking for a sport coat or a nice button down long sleeve shirt - I will not find it here. Seriously Santa Rosa TJ Maxx, if this is the best your men's clothes buyer can do, you should eliminate the department completely. I am kind of surprised at the low stars this business currently has. The store seems neat, well kept, plenty of friendly and professional employees. I like that there is always someone working at the jewelry department. The store is way, way better then Ross. Ross gives me a headache. If you are looking for luggage, housewares, jewelry etc, they have good name brands. The only thing I did not like was the return situation. If you return something via credit or debit card, it takes many days before you see a credit back even if you paid by debit card. That is a bit annoying. I've been here many a times. Thats the problem with discount shopping you hafta go frequently if you expect to find anything good. Disount shopping equates to a multitude of factors working against you. Size being the biggest issue for me. Because the mens smalls, or mediums are offten the first to sell out at the department stores so they almost never make it to the disount stores, and when they do they are hideous styles, or obnoxious colors. Pants are equally hard to find in the mens sizes of 30-32.... but if your going for the rapper xxl look your in luck when it comes to discount stores. I used to frequent this location at least once to twice a week. I purchase a MK bag but lost the receipt because it had been a while. So I was totally ok with getting store credit. I live an hour and a half away so when I got there to do the exchange, the manager tells me they cannot do an exchange of an item over $100 without a receipt at this specific location. I drove an hour and a half for no reason! On the TJ Maxx website, the return policy doesn't say anything about a price limit on exchanges. When I called corporate, they too said that that isn't policy. So be warned. If you purchase an item over $100 keep track of your receipt! read more

TJ Maxx is great. I always find great things here. You really have to stop and take a deep breathe and be ready to rip through the racks for a good hour or so, then you try on, then dicide what you really want.. chances are it won't be your initial selection. Good for sweaters, cheap tee shirts, socks and exercise gear, bras, under wear and dresses. They do not always have the best shoe selection, but sometimes you find a gem. I'm one of those crazy discount shoppers and this place is the best because they have clothes almost all the way to the door so for me the, "ok, I'm ready, let's go" type of person that they are targeting, I end up spending 20 more minutes just trying to leave. Damn, $60 more on the way out, but I'm also that, "have to have it" type of person.. so oh well. Just had a truly terrible experience at this TJ Maxx location, I came in intending to return a present I had received for Christmas, a nice silk scarf, and had been planning on finding some thing else I liked in the store and just doing an exchange. I browsed for about an hour or so and then took my items to the front ready to do the exchange, and as soon as I pulled the scarf out and said that I was returning it and that no I'm sorry I did not have the gift receipt for it but the tags were on still and the scarf was in pristine condition ( I have an aunt who is notorious about never giving gift receipts and even better still leaving the tags on her gifts ), suddenly the entire demeanor of the cashier changed and the lurking, beady-eyed manager who had been standing a few feet away eavesdropping on our conversation proceeded to powerwalk over and asked what I was doing, literally just about like that. I calmly said I was planning on returning this gift and exchanging it for some thing else that I found that I liked more, and she literally eyed me up and down like I was a criminal and then asked me if I was sure that the scarf came from TJ Maxx. Excuse me, what?!?! It has a freaking TJ Maxx tag stuck to it, yes lady I'm pretty sure it comes from TJ Maxx. She then super rudely told me that I couldn't return it here because it didn't come up in their system, which is a crock of you know what I'm pretty sure, and then asked me again basically how I acquired the scarf, insinuating very very heavily that I had stolen it or some thing or come buy it by less than conventional means. I tried to stay pretty calm but honestly that kind of crap pisses me off, just because I'm younger and I am returning an item that I don't have the gift receipt for you automatically assume I am a thief? As a regular shopper at discount fashion stores like TJ Maxx, I've seen the range of chaos that can exist in such places; i.e., unorganized clothing racks, dusty dressing rooms, strewn-about shoe piles that might resemble cairns for wary store travelers, etc. However, I found a TJ Maxx that does not fit my narrow-minded assumption of these places. Case in point: the overhead lights were all functioning, the sections for women's/ men's/ kids' clothing were remarkably organized, clearance sections were not a frenzied mess, and everything was clean. The prices were fair, as well. It may not be a regular destination, but if I'm ever in need of getting a reminder that not all discount fashion stores are bombed-out battlefields, this store will deserve a re-visit. read more
