10/7/25 visit to Target was extremely disappointing. I attempted purchased a piece of furniture, a…read morelighter and Diet Coke Lime (yes, it's back!). While waiting in the one line that was open, I was blown away by the lack of customer service from the cashier (white male, unkempt looking, tie dye target hoodie). The customer in front of me had two clothing items without tags. The cashier looked up the items on his scanner and sloppily tossed them into the bag (I would've been pissed it they were my clothes). Right before the customer stuck her card in the reader, the cashier told her the clothes without tags couldn't be returned. She obviously felt pressured to make a decision and offered to go find the same items with tags intact. The cashier canceled the sale and dumped the clothes back into her cart. No offer to print a tag, call for assistance, send her to guest services...nothing. I got to the register and my experience wasn't much better. I asked why the advertised Target Circle discount didn't apply to my purchase. He said, "no clue" with zero effort to assist. I ended up going to guest services and they scanned all of my items and said nothing in my cart was eligible for the target circle discount. That's fine. Got home and did a little research and literally the $200 lamp I purchased was $120 with the target circle discount. I went back to the store today and the error was corrected without hesitation. I stopped going to target when they went woke, but started popping in here and there. The lack of cashiers, crappy customer service and pain in the butt pricing errors just isn't worth it. The carts are nice though! Oh, and the Threshold lamp I bought was defective in color, making all of this hassle even more frustrating!

I wanted to make a purchase with online-only Visa gift cards, so we shopped the store for the items we wanted and put them in our basket and in our online cart simultaneously. We went to customer service with the items and explained that we have these giftcards that only work online, so we got the items to make it easier to pick when we check out online. She said we need to wait at least two hours to complete the order. I asked why, as I had all the items right here in basket. She said that's how it works as people need time to go get the items. I reiterated that I had all the items right there. She said it doesn't work that way. She called for a shift leader at my polite request. She disappeared to talk to the shift leader over the radio and returned as the shift leader said "there's no way to rush the order," a thing I was not asking for. She said no again and that we can leave the items there. I was obviously frustrated (yet still polite) at what just happened and began to leave, and she smugly grinned and said have a nice day, happy she had "won" against the customer. Really terrible, disappointing experience. 0 stars if I could.

This location is a bit different from what I remember, but they have lots of familiar things: there's an extensive selection of items for your household, including some scores for bakers and coffee lovers. Hello, silicone molds and cute baking cups! There are tons of options for silverware and dish ware, plus really cute glassware and mugs. Athletes will find yoga mats, resistance bands, and small items for your home workout. Into health and beauty? They've got you covered with applicators, sheet masks, and body scrubbers (if you've been to Korea, you know what I mean). I was delighted to discover that they have a respectable selection of stationery, including cute notebooks, fun puzzle erasers, and even a few fun sticky notes. This is a great place to come if you need to stock your dorm room, grab some art supplies, or fill a gift basket for the niblings at a reasonable price. Well-organized Grand Opening weekend, too, thanks to the great staff. Thanks, Daiso!

I have been shopping at this store for over ten years and never had a single bad experience until…read moretoday. What happened was completely unacceptable and really embarrassing. I have never in my life shoplifted. I was raised to always do the right thing, even when no one is watching. My wife, kids, and I were having a great day. We went to the park, walked around the neighborhood, and decided to stop by Walmart to pick up some groceries. We also brought two five-gallon water bottles to refill, which we always do when we shop at this store. We went through self-checkout, paid for everything, and got our receipt. I handed the receipt to the lady at the door wearing a yellow vest. She looked at it, checked our cart, and said we were good to go. But right when we were about to leave, some random man who wasn't even wearing a Walmart vest or anything showing he worked there stopped my family and me to "check" if we scanned our two water bottles. It was so disrespectful and humiliating. Why would I not scan two five-gallon bottles that I brought into the store for my family to use? What is the point of having someone check receipts at the door if another person is just going to stop us again in front of everyone? People were staring at us like we had stolen something, and it made us feel awful. And the worst part was that when he saw we had paid for everything, he didn't even say sorry. He just walked away like nothing happened. That really made me angry and disappointed. After this, I don't feel the same about this store anymore. If something like this ever happens again, I will go straight to customer service and ask for my money back, whether it's for food or anything else. No one deserves to be treated that way.

Mind you, I placed my order well over 24 hours ahead of time. The first time I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes. They say they don't see the orders until 2 hours before but picking 20-30 items should not take 3 hours. Yesterday's order after waiting another hour, I cancelled my order and left, and I know I was not the only one. Very disappointed.

For sure feel like it's catered to the older crowd. We parked at Von Maur to cut through to the mall. A few things did catch my eye while passing so we ended up looking around a bit. I did find an item to purchase and walked a bit to find a pay station. When I walked up a customer and the cashier were deep into conversation about vacation and even with me waiting they carried on for 5 or so minutes after the fact. I ended up sitting in the chairs nearby to wait. I can say when they finally wrapped their conversation the cashier wasn't as friendly which made me think maybe I shouldn't purchase from them. There was no "thank you for your patience or waiting", "did you find everything okay" or anything. Overall the store is pretty neat and organized. Not a ton of staff around but also never seen a lot of people shopping either. Items seem to be good quality.

I wanted to grab some lunch at the food court and bring it back to my hotel room. I parked by Von Maur and cut through the store to get to the food court. When I lived in Minnesota, huge department stores were popular. Macy's. Dayton's. Sears. Nordstrom. Neiman Marcus. Dayton's was Minnesota-based. It died, similar to Sears. It was my first time stepping foot in a Von Maur store. It felt like walking into an old Eaton's or Simpsons store when I was a kid. There was a lot to see. It felt comfortable. There was excitement. The first store that the von Maur family opened was in the late 1800's in Davenport, IA. It has since expanded to fifteen states. Its headquarters are still in Davenport. I had no idea. I have actually been to Davenport! This store had a wide variety of brand-name merchandise. I saw popular brands, such as Tommy HIlfiger and Anne Klein. There were many brands that I had never heard of, such as Lyssé, AGB, and Ruby Rd for women's clothing. I am such an outlet, discount shopper. It was nice checking out a classy department store, to change things up. I felt comfortable. Staff were super friendly and non-judgmental. They smiled and said hi. The best part was hearing a pianist in the lobby play songs at noon. It was so cheerful and refreshing as I browsed and moved. I loved it. There were escalators and elevators to get to to various floors of this large department store. It was clean and inviting. I will need to return when I'm not looking for lunch to shop here. I loved what I saw and I look forward to returning. (415)
