Good luck trying to get any help buying furniture from this location. Me and my wife found a $180 bench that we wanted. After a few attempts we managed to flag down the nearest associate who happened to have a 'manager' tag on. We asked if we could have it lugged to the cashier for us so we can pay for it now then continue to shop. We were met such an abrasive approach it was quite hilarious. She kept mentioning she can only hold it till closing while I kept mentioning we wanted to pay for it right away. After a few more attempts, I just lugged that huge bench myself to the front after this lady could not catch word I was saying. To label the whole retail workforce; college kids, retirees working as incompetent would not be fair after having this kind of experience from 1 'manager'. Yet that experience did not help anyone's case for a raise in minimum wage. If only online shipping (free and not free, I'd gladly pay for shipping to not deal with idiots) everywhere included Hawaii...one could only dream. read more

7/9/19-My experiences w/TJ Max is always a good one! I hope a manager is able to read this & enjoy the excellent review I will give! First off,the store is clean,A.C is nice & cool. The employees are charming! As we were shopping,an employee was pushing a few carts & stopped to ask if I'd like to have one. Not intending to spend a lot of money that day,I politely said no thank you. She was so cute & tried to be so convincing! While shopping around for another 15 minutes or so, another happy employee asked if we'd like a cart. I still didn't have anything in my hands at this point (to purchase). Several minutes later, a smiley faced employee asked if I'm finding everything okay. Wow! I thought! What great customer service! With a product in my clutches at this point in time, the last employee asked if I was doing okay. Okaaaaay...that's four employees already. But I don't mind because I know what's going on!!!!!!! This is a security tactic. I know this because I was trained this way. I've worked in retail for half my life. I used to work in women's boutique,Liberty House (OMG I'm dating myself) & Macy's. Greeting customers is not only saying welcome. It's also saying "Hi ! Just want you to know that I'm here & I'm watching you!". This is done to deter theft. Most security are ex police & military. I have been trained by both. So,I salute you TJ Max! I purchased two items. A microwave splash lid for under $3 & a mascara under $4!!! Awesome! I didn't intend on buying anything. Oh ! Ross used to be my go-to store when I wanted to buy household items or clothes that didn't cost ridiculous department store prices. However, many of the Ross locations have been getting so cluttered and disorganized that it's been difficult to find what I'm looking for in a timely manner, or even if they have the products at all. I've visited the TJ Maxx store twice now, and I was pretty impressed with their offerings and prices, especially compared to what I found at Ross. The first time I was looking for a bento box-style container for lunches at work. I located the storage items at the back of the store and was pleased to see that they had a wide variety of items to choose from, including two different kinds of bento boxes. Ultimately, I didn't end up purchasing either one, since I needed something a bit bigger for work, but the options that they provided at the store gave me a much better idea of what to look for when I made an eventual purchase. The second time I was looking for a pitcher for sweet tea. After looking around at other stores, I was shocked to see the sticker prices at between $20-40 for a simple pitcher. I figured it would be worth a trip to TJ Maxx to see if they had anything in stock. Again, it was easy to find what I was looking for in the store. I found the BEST glass container with an airtight seal that could be used for sweet tea, even when the liquid was still hot. It was BPA free and could even be put to use for canning. It was only $5! Mega score! It took a while to get through the checkout lines, but I like the electronic system significantly better than the "yelling method" at the nearby Ross. I love love love TJMAXX! This is always my first stop whenever I go to the mall. The first section I stop in is the household goods, I love that they have quality goods for affordable prices. For instance, this year they had a surplus of Christmas goods so I was able to get a lot of Christmas goods for cheaper including wrapping paper. Just know each holiday season you should get your supplies early because I went back for more wrapping paper and they were sold out about a week before Christmas. My daughter also loves TJMAXX as well. She goes crazy for the toys. And this holiday season they had so many affordable toys. At this location, parking is the worst... everyone want to park in front of TJMAXX so by 10am there is usually no parking unless you stalk out for a while. read more

You never know what you will find and at the same time save money. This store seems always to have a lot of merchandise on stock. From the home decor, jewelry, clothing, and many more items. I always find what I'm looking for and its always on clearance, from moisturizers, watches, you name it they have it. Store is usually organized and clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. Due to the whole pandemic that is going on in the world, we really need to be kind to one another. Then we have PAUL BLART working at TJ MAXX. I couldn't get his name, so Paul will have to do. Short little oompah loompah white dude with glasses. Anyways, he has the worse possible attitude EVER. Seriously. Due to covid restrictions, I get that some stores has certain policies set in place. TJ maxx has it set up that the inside of the mall is the exit, and outside facing the parking lot is the entrance. YES..that small little door is the entrance only. So for those who have no knowledge thinking you can enter from the inside will be shocked when they can't. Then you have PAUL BLART raising his voice and throwing the meanest attitude out there like it's OUR fault for questioning him. Dude. My mom and I usually love coming to this store! It is your typical TJ Maxx: full of unique finds at great prices. However, I felt that need to write up this review based on an encounter I had with one employee in particular. I believe her name was Raechel or something similar, but I was turned off by her lack of customer service at the register. My mom and I were returning an item and getting some new items as well. Right off the bat, we were greeted with no smile or, no "find everything ok?". She returned the items and asked rudely, "did you just want to do an exchange then?". We obliged, and she rang up the items. We had a reusable bag with us, and I guess she assumed we would be using it because she did not even bother to package our items or ask if we needed a bag. Also, we had bought a glass jar and most employees wrap all things glass. She however, did not. We then asked her to wrap it and she proceeded to sigh loudly and wrap it. Located in Pearlridge Center. This is located right below Ross Dress for Less. The workers are great, i've yet to encounter a rude one. What i like about TJ Maxx compared to Ross is that it's organized. And when i say organized, i mean the sizes aren't mixed up. Everything is in place! They have seasonal items which i love. The bathrooms are nice, BIG and CLEAN. There even is a water fountain. I've yet to go into the dressing room lol. I love the selection of baby items tho. I'm still trying to figure out why but I've become quite fond of TJ Maxx since my friends & I hang out at South Shore Market quite often. I wish they had more clothing in my taste (I'm really a tshirt & jeans kinda gal) but I absolutely LOVE coming in here to browse thru the accessories & home goods. Also, their reusable shopping bags are AMAZING! They come in the cutest designs, are HUGE & only cost 99cents! Today when we went in to walk around after brunch, I spotted new smaller size bags in equally adorable prints. They cost a little more (I think $1.50) but come in sets of two. Dear TJ Maxx, I'd discounted your store as being not as good as Ross. I'd walked through and turned my nose up, convinced that your prices weren't low enough, your selection wasn't vast enough, and I hated how your display end caps had glass within reach of my two year old EVERYWHERE. Everywhere. Yet somehow I wandered into your store last week and, to my surprise, found that I needed everything. There was the napkin holder I was about to purchase on Amazon, it was half the price! There were the big glasslock containers, I'll take three! Cutting board and knives? Yes please! DKNY sheets? Indeed! 9x13 glass baking dish? Just what I needed! With my cart full of products, and my heart full of joy (my husband says I have "Issues" with buying things), I proceeded to the cash wrap to secure my bounty. Then it dawned on me. As the cashier packed and triple bagged my purchases into two ginormous and heavy bags I realized I was going to have to somehow get to my car. My car that was parked very very far away. With my three kids. And I only have two arms. And sadly, they are relatively skinny and not bulging with muscle. If TJ Maxx has some sort of pickup service I do not know of it and no one cared to enlighten me. I think a store that sells furniture shouldn't possibly expect customers to carry an armchair through the mall, but when I lamented my predicament the cashier just gave me a "I'm-giving-you-a-pity-look-but-I-don't-really-care-if-your-kids-are-run-over-in-the-lot-as-you-die-of-a-hernia". Review for a Monday afternoon: *My first time in this store location. Arrival: It seemed pretty busy for a Monday afternoon probably because its summer time. Racks: The racks were low on inventory and it didn't seemed sized right. Every rack I browsed through was all mixed up. I didn't feel the need to browse the entire store because I could tell that most racks were empty and not well maintained. Price: Reasonable. A little bit steeper than Ross but this is name brand stuff and quality clothing. Average price points were $19.99-29.99 per piece. Availability: when i had a question there was no one in site. no customer service available. Dressing Room: The lady at the front had her back faced towards me as she was fixing the clothes on the rack. I stood there for 3-4 minutes before she turned around to help me. The dressing rooms were pretty empty so I took the first one on my left. They have about 10-15 stalls available. I may have to come back on another day as today was not as great. However, I scored Jessica Simpson skinny jeans off the clearance racks for $9.99. So i bought them in all colors: coral, baby blue, white, & gray. *from what I know, TJ Maxx has pretty good (meaning modern) household goods. read more

TJ Maxx is the place to be if you want higher end stuff at a good price. I love this place a lot more than Ross. My reasons 1. This place is a lot cleaner 2. Not a lot of crazies 3. Clothing looks better/ better quality 4. Helpful workers. This is all the reasons why I choose this place over Ross any day. Don't get me wrong I like both, but this is the place I really enjoy shopping at. I also like their return policy, I like that they give back your money and not credit to spend at their store. Now all we need is a Chipotle, Sonic, and Olive Garden, right? TJ Maxx is another mainland chain that finally made its way to Hawaii. While I am happy that we're finally get more mainland stores, this one was surely a let down. I can't wait for Kohl's. I understand that this place is like Ross and you can't always depend on things being there but it's a lot more expensive than Ross. Also, with so many people coming here, it's so dishelved looking. It even seems that sometimes the shelves are bare because they've been so picked over. I enjoy a good bargain even if it means hunting for it. But if I can find the same thing at Ross and I already know where it is, I won't come here. I haven't found anything that is worth sharing or bragging about. However I will say that their employees are friendlier and more plentiful than Ross. Sometimes when you ask for help at Ross, they don't understand English or they brush you off. Since opening, I've been to all three of the TJ Maxx stores in Hawaii, and I have to say, this one is not at all special. I didn't find that many things (and I can find stuff ANYWHERE!), and their home department was a little bare. They didn't have as much for children as they do at the Ward store, which is strange because I feel like there are way more kids in this area. The shoe department didn't have anything cute (I was on the hunt for shoes this particular day), and no cute clothes. They had several of the same tops as Ward. They have the same great carts (the basket cart is what I want!), and its still cleaner than any Ross. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of the other TJ Maxx by the Walmart in Pearl City. I was hugely disappointed at this location. The way the store organized is a mess compared to the other store, not to mention all of the products seem to be thrown onto the shelves. In general, the entire store is in disarray. I'm not sure if it's just because of the greater amount of foot traffic than the other store, but it was a madhouse in here. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, I'd much rather go to the TJ Maxx in Kapolei or the one by Walmart. read more

TJ Maxx is my favorite store EVER. This store is a treasure. I love finding name brands for less, cheap house wares and decor, pet supplies, quality furniture and other random things that I don't need. There are shopping days where I walk out with nothing, but 90% of the time I find something that I suddenly must buy. TJ Maxx stores vary in selection. I found Tory Burch and Ray Ban sunglasses for $50 in the Pearl City location, Marc by Marc Jacobs watches for $99 at the Pearlridge location, I found an awesome entertainment center for $299 at the Ward Location that looks and feels like it could be $600, and I feel like the clothing selection is better at the Kapolei location. It really just depends on the day you're going and what you're looking for. The number one thing I love getting here is pet stuff. The treats, toys and supplies are dirt cheap here compared to the retail pet stores. I always spoil my pup with toys and dog treats (even though he has more than enough toys and finds an empty soda bottle more interesting). I also love getting house stuff here. Whether its decor, kitchen ware, bath towels, etc., I get it here. I can't express how much I love TJ Maxx. I used to come here on a weekly basis, but that was bad on my wallet and I have a wedding to save up for! So I limit myself to a visit every other week now. It's hard!! Happy shopping at TJ Maxx! I've been to all 3 stores on the island, and so far this location seems to be the one I have the best luck at! I always find something for myself, and since the holidays are near...I did find a gift for someone just the other day! The store is nicely laid out & I haven't seen it messy the times I've been there. Even the restroom is pretty clean! Employees didn't ask if I needed any help on the floor, but that's fine with me. I just like to browse for nothing in particular. Checking out is never a problem - the cashiers are pretty nice and that's always a plus! I will always make this TJ Maxx a place to go whenever I'm at the mall. Maybe not during the holiday rush though, looking for parking was CRAAAAAAZY this past weekend!! read more

Not really a fan of this location. It's always really busy and harder to find the mark-down deals unless you have fabulous timing. Only thing that is great about this location being so close to the other one: if you're looking for something in particular, if it's not at one location might as well check the other, so close! Usually though the stock is different...but you never know. They do not have much selection as the Pearl City location. No sales associate greeted me or asked me if I needed help as with the Ward and Pearl City location. They haven't completely made a 'maxxinista' out of me, but this TJ Maxx location has much to offer and needless to say, I was impressed. Once I walked in, I was greeted by an employee who definitely possessed the "fashionista" trait. Skinny jeans, a vest, long sleeve, and matching tie -- it was adorable and modern. Unlike the Ward location (where I was completely unimpressed), Pearlridge offers a nicer layout. I guess you could say it looked like a more upscale and organized Ross store, but at the same time, delivered the flavor and fashion that you would find at Macy's. The atmosphere screams 'bargain' retailer, but it isn't ghetto and the employees seem to actually like their jobs (For now?). As for pricing...NOT BAD. I saw an Abercrombie and Fitch shirt priced at $7.99. To top it off, their selection is pretty good. No men's shoes though. Darn! In conclusion...haha, I'm a fan. Go TJ Maxx! read more

I've only been to 2 TJ Maxx on this island. The one in the shopping center with Babies r us and the pearlridge one. I was super impressed with the pearlridge one. It's very spacious. There are alot of items to look at. Customer service is very good here. While we were browsing in the handbangs section a sales associate came by and asked if we needed any help. I wasn't really in the mood to be shopping, so I definitely will be back to look. It was good to see that everything was clean. They did have a lot of holiday items stocked. I actually bought some wrapping paper. Anyone who wants to compare this store to Ross...really should be shopping at Ross. They don't have the same brands and/or prices. read more

So this is one out of 3 or 4 other TJ Maxx stores on the island. I figured I stop by this one since its in my hood and literally right across the street from my place. I came on a Sunday and it was of course hecka packed not only because it is a fairly recently new place but also cuz its a Sunday where you get choke kids and families just cruising the mall and doing your typical average family Sunday kinda thing. There are two entrances one from the outside of the mall when you are walking towards uptown Pearlridge, if you are walking and the other inside the mall right next to Hatsby and Aloha sushi. I took my time looking and walking around the store checking out the stuff. They have a dressing room area and restrooms. I was surprised that they have restrooms. Its pretty much a Ross as far as the items and prices go with just a different name. The vibe and atmosphere kinda reminds me of Target I guess because of all of the red and stuff. There isn't too much on the guys section only clothes, some electronics, and some outdoor recreation stuff. There's more for women than for men. They have furniture, toys, accessories, bags, home stuff, etc. It seems like they only have footwear for only women and not men unless I missed it. They have two areas where they have cashiers and registers by the two exits and entrances. One thing that they do have that Ross doesn't have are items by the cashier registers. I forget what they call those types of items but they have some random stuff by them. Normally you would see candy and food by the cashier registers but they have things like electronics, camping gear, etc. Overall, its a pretty good store that sells some just some unique items but I still would rather stick with good 'ole Ross and I miss Pricebusters even though they only moved not too far from Pearls.
