I've been here a few times. I wouldn't call it convenient location but it is close to me. But I rather walk up the hill to GILLEY and visit that one. This one would be smaller than GILLEY. But they actually carry different stuff. GILLEY staff never ask if you need help (if the owner is reading this don't blame them. They realize customers don't want to be pestered every 2 mins "do you need help" they are always helpful when asked and if we as shoppers need help we know where to find them. At cash) MARINE staff literally run to you and ask if you need help within like 90 seconds of stepping into the store and of course first thing you'll say is no thanks I'm good. Marine offers treats but asks me first. Gilley doesn't. Doesn't matter. My dog is so spoiled I don't approve of most treats unless it's single ingredient etc. I will point out the sales girl at gilley not only didn't upsell me. She tried repeatedly to talk me out of buying the larger size bag of freeze dried nuggets to the point I was a tad offended and irked by it. She needs training. Customer wants to buy largest bag. And you tell her you should really get the smaller bag first if it's your first time. Just to see if she likes it. No I'm fine. If she doesn't I'll just donate it. But that one costs more if she doesn't like it you should start with the smaller bag. But if she likes it then I end up spending more and I'm relatively sure she will eat it. Okay but if she doesn't like it you can't return it. (Which I pointed out at checkout to another staff and she assured me she must be mistaken it's the freezer ones that aren't returnable) either way. She needs some training read more

Tisol - Pet Stores Near Me - Burnaby, British Columbia

This is one of my least favourite locations. They don't seem to have a lot of the stock that other tisols have. Since the company had been sold, I think the quality of the food and treats have gone downhill. The staff are not very knowledgable about their products and don't seem too interested in helping customers. read more

As I was doing some errands, I noticed this store. It had big "Now Open" signs and I had never heard of the chain before, so I decided to check it out. The place seemed very neat and clean, and there was a huge variety of pet food. I was extremely glad to find that there was a brand of cat food available here (Orijen) that I had previously gone to Delta to get. Very nice! The prices seemed reasonable as well. I don't believe that Tisol sells any live animals, so it frees up a lot of space for accessories and other things. I also noticed that the staff were very nice, but let me browse in peace. I Love Tisol. Awesome store and great staff. The staff are helpful but don't follow you around and demand to help you. If you ask them a question, they definitely know the answer (or if they don't, they will find out). I went in for a specific brand of chinchilla food and they only had a bulk bag. The staff member helping me called 2 other locations to find out if they had a smaller bag. Totally helpful and really polite, pleasant, and cheerful. I'd never seen a Tisol this big (I normally go to the one on Main Street) and the staff member said, "Wait till you see the one on Grandview at Renfrew. It's more than twice the size." 1/19/2014 I bought 2 bags of cat litter, used one and as it tracked a lot, I brought the second unopened bag back to exchange for another product. The sticker was still on the bag, but the manager refused to exchange the product without a receipt. I had recently cleaned out my purse and must have recycled the small receipt. This is an unusually draconian exchange policy and because of the staff's unbending attitude, I will not shop here again. read more

Tisol rocks. They have everything my dog needs and that I have to buy for her, from my preferred dog food in a "light" variety that Bosley's won't carry unless I special order (psshh to that noise) to the LED glow-in-the-dark throwing balls we need for nighttime trips to the dog park. (Princess Sally doesn't play well with others, but she needs a good run a few times a week.) Plus they manage to fit a whole wall of the all-important squeaky toys in this compact location, and have a great selection of cookies and treats too. The humans who work here are great, always offering to help carry the load to the car. I love my big crazy dog and Tisol helps me spoil her. read more

I don't usually go to Tisol cause typically I just need dog food and if I am interested in paying too much money to feed my dogs this is the place to do it! But we were on the hunt for a travel crate and some life jackets for my little pups and they just didn't have what we were looking for across the street at Petsmart. I liked that the kennels were actually set up so you could put your dogs in and make sure there is enough room. At Petsmart the kennels are broken down and zap strapped so you can't put them together to see if your dog will fit in it. Since we needed one kennel that could comfortably fit both our dogs we needed to be able to try it. They were really great with our dogs, asked before giving them treats and even stopped to play with them. They answered all our questions and even cleaned up my dogs "oopsie" for us. It's a much smaller store then Petsmart so you get a very personal experience if you are looking for assistance with anything. The staff seem very well informed and friendly. read more

I wish I can give them zero stars. Went in to purchase the food for my dog today and I was overcharged $60 since the cashier didn't count the packs in the boxes correctly. Called back to the store to see if they can complete a manual refund onto the credit card since I don't feel like wasting 45 minutes and $10 in gas to drive all the ways back to the store. I offered to send in my receipt via email and the photos of the boxes for proof. Staff offered manager to call me - still waiting on that, I doubt I'll hear from them. I can fully understand that we all make mistakes as human beings but it's what you do afterwards to make that situation right for the customer - Tisol has no interest in making it right for their customers so that's too bad. I would advise those to check their receipts to ensure that you were charged correctly and not overcharged before leaving the store. read more

I visit this Tisol frequently because it is nearby to home, but in all the times that I have visited, I have NEVER been greeted, NEVER been offered assistance. The register is run through rather silently, and I'm sent on my way. It's fine if you know what you want and what you're looking for, but there isn't much along the lines of customer service. The Tisol on Grandview Highway has much friendlier staff. read more

This location opened recently and I am definitely a fan. They have the rain jackets that fit my pooches and are great quality. The prices are more expensive as a lot of their products are organic etc. I will defintiely be back for the treats that my pups like but it will not be my go to store. So I used to shop here all the time because it was right down the street from my old house. I came here one night 10 minutes before closing (I know it's cutting it close) and they had the doors locked, I was knocking as I really needed a bag of dog food. I come by to this store from time to time when I'm out of my area. They have a good selection of natural dog foods to choose from. I'm greeted by the staff and was helped almost immediately. I also like the various items they have for dog grooming. If there was an item they didn't have, the other store may carry them. I brought my dog in one time to pick up some dog food. 1. my dog not only helped himself to one of the mini dog treats that was on the counter top, he almost took the whole bowl!, and if he received one treat only he would beg for more, on they way out he tripped over the water dish by accident, water all over the place (Sorry) Gosh, I was embarrassed! I went to this location for the first time this weekend. Just like all the other locations, the staff is friendly and helpful. I was looking for a new toy for my dog, and after a few minutes, one of the ladies that work there asked if I needed any help. Told her the type of toy I was looking for and she recommended some. I always make the effort to not go to the big pet store chains anymore, and will always go to Tisol whenever I need any pet supplies. read more

This is the best Tisol location ever! The staff always go out of their way to help you, and you always walk out with exactly what you came for. I was looking for a specific litterbox, and the gentleman on the phone said that he could order it in by the next week. He also knew the approximate cost off the top of his head, and was super helpful on the phone. read more

I no longer bother going there much anymore. I would rather pay a bit more to deal with staff that aren't young snippy and rude, not that their prices are outstanding. I just don't feel appreciated as a customer and this is something that retailers here seem to overlook more and more but can make a difference to the bottom line. read more

This pet supply was recommended by a friend, she said it offers the best quality pet foods and nutritions, plus a wide range of choice. Well, I'd be appreciate it if there is any staff at the cashier could help me out. I've been waiting at the empty cashier station for anybody to show up to pay for the goods. There were no cashier, no bells to ring to call anyone. Finally I got upset for the waiting (especially we have a tight schedule) and went to look for any employee whose available to just let me pay the money and get out of there. I managed to find one staff who was servicing another customer, and after she heard my complain, she came to help me at the cashier and left the other customer there. It's been bothering me ever since. Cause I felt like I 'steal' the service from the other customer! I just feel awful awful awful right now! I was very upset back then and forgot even to apologize to the other customer:( I don't think I'd ever be back since there is nothing special to come back unless they would improve their service and more employees available. read more
