In addition, I was working from home a lot. I had just purchased a 2021 Ford Explorer, which should handle some snow. The winter came and went without any difficulties. Fast forward to December 2025 and the situation changed dramatically. I was no longer working remotely as much, and so far it's been an old fashioned Minnesota winter, with all the cold and snow that comes with it. On 12/09/2025, we had a pretty decent winter storm roll on through and it was life altering in the sense I've never been afraid while behind the wheel of a car -- until now. I was barely able to stay on the road. The tires that were on the car were so bad I couldn't even make it up a 3 - 4% grade hill near my house. I needed tires badly. Discount Tire has been my go-to for tires for the past couple of decades. I made an appointment for 12/20 and ordered the tires I wanted. Mother Nature wanted to time t me though, and what was supposed to be just a "dusting of snow" on 12/18 turned into a winter weather advisory. It wasn't as bad as the week before, but it was bad enough that I didn't want to have to deal with it anymore, if I didn't have to. On Friday, December 19, I got off work early so I called Discount Tire and begged to get in to have them installed. The person I spoke with told me to bring it in and they would get everything installed that day. I cannot express my gratitude enough for them making the accommodation to get me in, even a day earlier. Now, I'll be able to navigate the remainder of winter without nearly the difficulty I once had. Thank you to those that stayed late to get my tires installed and get me back on the road! A special thanks to Caleb, who somehow was able to get me in on a Friday night after 5 PM. You are literally lifesavers in this case.

THEN to top it off when I went to put them back on after following the right steps they stripped out my wheel bore from forcing them in there. Now my car is out of service and all they said they can do is "make a claim" But since its been 1000 miles its my fault. Highly don't recommend if you actually want to have all 4 of your wheels on well driving.

Yes, service is requested to replace the rivets with black rivets that all match and are flush with…read morethe wheel trim. Tires Plus apparently slapped on whatever they could find at the time. Rivets within wheel well skirt were simply left off and not reinstalled. The wheel well skirt is loose and flopping around. Nearly $1,400 in shock replacement work done and this is the best they could do? Not acceptable. We called after noticing the white rivets. The person at the front desk denied any knowledge of anything. Lastly, after replacing all four shocks and all four tires with brand new tires, we were told by the manager Damian that the "Jeep Death Wobble" would stop. A month later It did not stop and was just as bad as before all of the above was replaced. We found a reputable and knowledgeable mechanic who replaced the tie rods. That has fixed the Jeep "Death Wobble." Tires Plus should have recommended that we go to a mechanic that could have checked the tie rods first before Tires Plus charged $1,400 to replace the shocks. Replacing the shocks AND the tires DID NOT solve the problem. The root cause of the problem was the tie rods. We wonder now if Tires Plus did a shotty job installing all four shocks?

Car didn't start the next morning, so we called the dealership and found out there is in fact a recall, and made an appointment. He said the Progressive hadn't notified him that I would be coming. Even with that set back things got set in motion pretty quickly. He reached out to the technician who would be doing my inspection. The technician happened to be running late, but upon his arrival he wrapped up the inspection very quickly. Progressive had me block out an 8am-9am time slot on my calendar and I was out of there by 8:45am! The technician was super friendly. He chatted with me for about 10 minutes after he completed the inspection. He walked me through what points caused him to achieve his end results, and also gave me some advice on auto body issues unrelated to the incident. I was going to be giving this place a two or three star review due to how the experience started, but the efficiency and friendliness of the technician really turned the whole scenario around!

Not an apology, an offer to remove the charge, a discounted or free wash, an "I'm sorry that happened, are you ok?". NOTHING except a "you enter at your own risk" response and "construction vehicles go through there all the time". The team at Big O took the tire and worked their magic to reseal the tire to the rim. They weren't sure if their tools would work for the small tire but it was worth a shot. In less than five minutes the tech came out with the tire sealed and full of air. The team was great! They took the tire and figured out how to reseal it and handed back to me full of air. Great work! Even though I was only in the shop for 10 minutes to fix my snowblower tire, I would recommend the Big O team in Elk River for tire service.

Although this time I brought it to a reputable shop to have the work done as: 1. Bernings doesn't honor their work, no warranty. 2. I didn't want to go through the same issue I had with the rear axle, paying for repairs and then repeated failures. 3. I' wanted the work done right. The universal joint that was replaced at Bernings turned out to be the incorrect part which then of course failed. In addition, the tie rod end I had replaced at Bernings also failed. As I stated in my previous review, the technicians (I'm using this term very loosely with these clowns) have no clue what they're doing. And the owner, your typical con man. So be warned, stay away from Bernings.
