Two times I have been here. The first was warranty alignment work where the Tires Plus on Washington Blvd Sarasota could not align the front tires on our 2009 Sonata after repeatedly trying (offered a refund) . Here on Manatee Ave, they did a superb job in no time. On our second visit we too had a nail in the tire (as a previous reviewer stated -but we had better results than he did) and unfortunately it could not be fixed either. Initially I tried Tire Kingdom on Cortez because they are closer to our home. They said the same thing about the tire not being repairable (and could get a new exact Firestone for $156). Ok, I don't normally do reviews unless they are excellent or very poor. , this location doesn't even deserve a rating. Was in there to have a leaking tire diagnosed and said they found nothing wrong with it. They used a spray bottle to try and find a leak. Who does that, needs to be put into a big tub of soapy water for 1, not a damn cheap spray bottle. Left the shop and was going down the road for the light to come on again with low pressure. Thought maybe I just needed to drive it for a while and it would go off. Noooooooo, woke up this morning with 12 lbs of pressure in my tire. When I tell you that I have been airing it up all week, there is most likely something wrong. So, now I'm back here so we will see read more

I recently had a tire mounted, balanced, and an alignment at Tires Plus on Manatee Avenue. I worked with David, who was very understanding and professional when I had to reschedule my appointment - twice! I have a 2017 Maserati Ghibli SQ4, and was hesitant about their ability to service a foreign car, but they handled it quickly and with ease. They checked the brakes, installed the tire, and did the alignment in about an hour. There was nobody there when I arrived at my 4 p.m. weekday appointment, so they were able to get it right in. I could tell the difference as soon as I drove away - the steering handled so much better and the car drove smoothly. They didn't try to sell me anything extra, and although they asked if I wanted to apply for their credit card, it was not a hard sell. I'd definitely go back again and recommend! This pertains to the location at 5503 Manatee Avenue in Bradenton Florida. Unfortunately, I cannot give them ' 0 ' rating! Had an issue recently with my car, where I thought it was my alignment. So I took it to them. They diagnosed it as "bad tie rods" (on a car with 36,000 miles) so they were replaced along with an alignment for $600+. The problem remained ... actually, the shimmy was worse after (see video). It wasn't the tie rods at all. That was just wasted money on my part. It was only a set of bad tires. The ironic part ... they sell tires ... so they could have taken the same amount of money - or more - from me, had they told me it was only bad tires! The tires have been replaced (by another company) and now happily the problem is gone. People like me are born every minute, but I always hope for honesty. Now I know better. Let me preface this with: I have written many more favorable reviews than unfavorable. I am not looking for anything free. I was in the tire sales and auto repair business for many years in a managerial capacity. The one thing that kept the stores for which I was responsible profitable was constructive criticism. I live out of town and made an early afternoon appointment at 5703 Manatee Ave. W, Bradenton, Fl. to have an oil change and get the tires rotated. I received a confirmation email a few days before. I was to meet a friend there and visit while the car was being serviced. I have a Tires Plus Credit Card which I got on an emergency visit to repair a flat at the Tires Plus on SR70 a few months before. The reason I got a credit card was their great service. I was told in future visits, one perk was free tire rotation since I had their card. So, from the positive experience I had on SR70, I felt good about visiting their store at 5703 Manatee Ave W. Upon arrival the manager couldn't find me in the system????? So, instead of getting free tire rotation as part of the service he said for $10 they would do a safety check on the car which included tire rotation. I had planned for some time to visit my friend, so I agreed, not happily. I was told I'd be called when the car was ready, At about 5 p. m. I had not heard from the store so I told my friend I should get back and pick up my car. When I got there, the employee helping me couldn't find my completed work order. He went out to the shop and brought it in. It was NEVER WORKED ON! It was still where I parked it, within full view of the shop. I hope this criticism serves to prevent future occurrences. I could have called the manager who did my work order when I arrived but I think he should have called me. That's what I would have done. read more

I have done business with this store for a few years. I was happy until today. I bought a new set of tires. The manager wanted me to pay for an alignment and I told him that it didn't need one. It was aligned in December of last year. It drove straight and the tires wore evenly. Now that they put it on their alignment rack(supposedly not adjusting anything) he claimed both front and rear out of toe. Now it pulls to the right severely. What kind of practice is this? Do you need to sell an alignment so badly that you adjust my car out of spec to get me to come back and pay for an alignment? I will never return to this store or ANY Tires Plus/Firestone dealers. Took out Cadillac CTS in for tires and shocks . Paid and drive it for 1 day and every abs light on the car goes off. I call them and make time to return my car to another location because they can't fit us in for service. I was sent to manatee ave location. They say the original store installed wrong shocks causing sensor to go off. So they ordered correct shocks . They had told me it would be fixed in one day. It took 3 days, for shocks. Then the said I had to pay 900 more for sensor, so I did. Got car back and now have grinding sound. So I called and they told me they would fix it . I returned and they then said they didn't touch the front end , which is what they actually fixed. Then the manager said he won't fix. 2300 and they've not honoring there warranty. I've been going to Tires Plus in Pinellas County since 2018. Every time I go, they are always helpful, kind and show quality customer service. I visited Tires Plus on Manatee yesterday and arrived 25 minutes prior to my appointment. The man working the front desk, come to find out is also the manager, was not friendly whatsoever when being greeted. I did not get his name, but he had a possible 'New York accent' or northern accent. I told him I had an appointment. He said we called you and can't fit your automobile in at that time. I said I received a call yesterday and made the 'new' appointment with someone over the phone for today. He seemed unaware. He then asked for my phone number. I gave it to him and he said nothing is coming up. I gave it to him again, and he said nothing is coming up. I said, can you look me up by my name, and he said no. I then said that's odd, because the other tires plus pull me up by my name. I then said maybe it's under my old number which I haven't had in over 5 years. He would not check me in for my appointment without a contact number etc...From that point... due to his overall rude demeanor, I went outside and called Tires Plus in Tyrone. They immediately were able to pull up my information etc with my phone number and name. I walked back in and the man seemed very frustrated with me. At no point did I raise my voice or say anything unkind. He asked for my phone number again, and I gave him my current phone number again. He said there's your profile. It wasn't pulling up before. He asked how many miles, and we went over what I needed done. He then said that he does not work on lifted Jeeps. I told him it was no problem at the other location. He said, 'I'm not going to argue with you'... I was honestly thrown back. I didn't argue with him, I just made a comment that it's not been a problem before. Again, he spoke to me with a harsh tone, no friendliness whatsoever... and then had the audacity to tell me he's not going to argue and that I'm giving him 'wrong' information. Like my phone number that I gave him three times??? I told him that he was very rude overall, and lacked customer service and I wouldn't be back. In general, I don't know if this man was just having a bad day, but he has no business working in customer service with his lack of friendliness. I was completely turned off by his attitude as well . Aside from him working on lifted Jeeps or not, I will NOT be back. I will be following up this review with contacting the GM in this region. Aside from the treatment of this assistant manager in front of other customers, the lack of consistency in Tires Plus is also something I'm concerned with. read more

Came here to get my boyfriends tires replaced. Was helped by a gentlemen, forgot his name but he was very helpful and accommodated us while we waited. The service was good, it wasn't fast but he helped us out for waiting a bit to get tires changed. We initially called tire kingdom but they were rude and sketchy so we left and came here and glad we did. read more

This was my 2nd time going to this place and will never be going back again. Terrible business like all the other reviews said! All they want is your money, will lie and scam you into anything especially people who don't know very much about vehicles. I went a few months ago to get a new valve steam. I already had the tire off so it would quick and easy for them. Took about 5 hours with no call so I showed up asking about it. They did not even touch/moved it from where I dropped it off. The manager was nice enough to run out and put a new one in. When I got home I realized that he was a lazy POS and left the bottom end of the valve steam in my tire so I can hear it bouncing all around. My mother went shortly after my first bad experience because she had a flat tire. They told my mom they could not fix it and she had to buy a new which they tired to over sell her by 80 dollars. Luckily my mom called me because she thought it seemed pricey which I told her it was and to tell them to put your tire back on. They tried to tell her they could not. I went up there told them to put her tire back on that we will figure it out because she did not agree to have anything done and they supposedly could not fix it. My mom drove on that tire for over a year with no more leaks Once again taking advantage of people they think they can scam and take more money from them. Today (6/17/21) I dropped off two of my rims and tire's today around 1pm be replaced with tires I already purchased through my own accords. Once again I was nice and made it easy for them. I received a phone call 4 and a half hours later saying they could not put the new tires on because they supposedly can't do reverse mount wheels . I went in this morning to have a tire plugged, had a screw in it, and they told me it was going to be a few hours. I went across the street to the Shell station and they did it in ten minutes. We took our minivan in for new tires after one blew out, was talked into an upgrade to a "lifetime alignment" while it was there. The staff was friendly and helpful. We already had an appointment the following day at the dealership for scheduled service, so we were surprised to see the report from the dealership saying the car was out of specs and needed an alignment. We're now wondering if we should take the car back to them and trust they'll do it right the second time, or something else. read more

NEVER GO HERE. I dropped my truck off before 10am this morning, and as it was busy, I was assured my truck would be looked at/fixed by the end of the day. This was David, who checked me in. By 1:12 pm, I still hadn't heard from them, so i called and spoke to (lovely and personal GLEN--sarcasm here), and he told me that his "appointments were slowing down" and they would move my truck into the bay to be looked at. I was only calling because NO ONE had reached out to me on the status of my vehicle, and I wanted to make sure they consulted with me before doing any repairs. Fast forward to 4:15 today: STILL NOTHING. Not a call to let me know they hadn't even moved it, or a courtesy call to let me know this. Essentially, I wasted an ENTIRE DAY while no one ever touched my truck. No phone call, even to ask if I'd like to reschedule. So then I get a ride up to pick my truck up, and there's not-so-jovial GLEN, to argue with me about our earlier conversation--yeah, Glen--the one where you told me you were going to move my truck in to be looked at. Never happened. Then he proceeds to argue more about thr details of the conversation, telling me that those "with appointments" were still being serviced. Mind you, he told me earlier that they had "slowed down", and my truck WOULD be looked at. Not even a courtesy call to tell me I was nowhere even close to being serviced AT ANY TIME. Needless to say, I wasted an entire day with my truck being there, NOT serviced or even looked at, and upon my arrival to pick it up, I am met with an angry employee who seems rather unmoved by my situation. 0/10 would NOT recommend. If I could give this business a lower rating below 0, I would. Terrible customer service, ZERO communication, and extremely poor employee attitude or willingness to make this right. read more

Just a simple oil change: Immediately after opening the hood, the mechanic couldn't locate the oil filter, he told us they didn't have one in stock. We waited another 15-20 minutes,I assume he changed the oil, then he closed the hood. We asked if he replaced the filter, he said yes. Two weeks later, I checked under the hood only to find a bolt was not screwed back on to hold the engine cover, AND, the oil filter was NOT CHANGED. Where they do what they want and NOT what you ask for. I asked for a SMALL screw to be pulled and plugged. The gentleman said absolutely it'll go right in. 25 minutes later he's providing me a failing battery report. It's a bad cable that's slightly corroded on a 2015 Ford Edge Sport so no it's not a junker. Next thing 15 minutes later I'm called out to view my tire off the rim and told they refuse to fix it because they only do patches...NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR OR HE AGREED TO DO. Oh no sir we only patch, well call me stupid but shouldn't he have advised me first because I was short on time. So now they're saying the sidewall is wearing out from being low...mind you on my tire rotation LAST week I was told my tires are looking good and to expect another 25,000 out of them from ACROSS the street. Now they refuse to do anything but sell me a new tire instead of doing what I asked in the first place they put my tire with the SCREW STILL IN IT back on and happily sent me back on the road unsafe as before because they couldn't sell a tire. Second experience with this company 1 in Ohio I was screwed on a tire from a road hazard $200 for a Taurus tire mid grade and today was downright FU!! We've used Tires Plus on Manatee Ave. Bradenton FL several times for service, tires and repairs. I always check the net for "average price for particular repair" and Tires Plus is always about the average. So, pricing is fair. They do stand out with the fact that they are dependable, friendly, courteous and above all informative. They take the time to explain the problem with your car and the alternatives you have to get it back in service. I'm a retired mechanic and can appreciate the fact that Tires Plus in this location is honest and is more than willing to please it's customers. I got my tires replaced here and it took entirely too long even with an appointment because they didn't take me until an hour after my appointment. Then I was told I needed a replacement of my tire rods, a $480 service that I declined at the time so I could price around. I took my car to my regular shop and lo and behold, my tire rods are completely fine (in my 3 year-old car). Needless to say, I will NOT be taking my car here for anything anymore because they attempted to SCAM me out of $500. AVOID. read more

I went to this place because I was right next to it when my truck started shaking at the red light. The rep at the counter was pleasant, but a diagnostic was 90+ dollars. I said, "I think it's the spark plugs. Can you just change them?" He laughed at me and said it was way more than that. I drove to Advanced Auto less than a block from Tires Plus and the rep did a FREE diagnostic and printed out the error message which stated it could be the spark plugs. I purchased the spark plugs for $9 and the wires for $25, had my brother in law install them and my truck is PERFECT!!!!! read more

I, like a few other reviews, needed a nail removed and one tire plugged. The technicians refused to fix my tires, wanted to sell me 4 brand new tires. My tires were top of the line Michelin defender tires and had 3/4 of original tread left. I have changed more tires than anyone of the techs. Unfortunately they ran into someone more experienced than they were. I told them take my truck off rack and bring my truck back around. This is obviously a place that preys on people who don't know a lot about tires and fix a lot of made up problems. I will never return and my advice is stay clear. Use a reputable tire company. I brought my car into the shop with very minor problems. My car had been shaking for a while pretty abnormally and stalled just one time. they said they could not find anything and suggested a tune up which costed 800 almost. I left the shop with even more problems!!! It was still shaking when I left but I cant just bring it right back for another day or two cause that's really inconvenient. On my way home from the shop along with the shaking , my air conditioning got warm which never happened before. Then at night I went so smoke in my car and the check engine light was on when I turned my car on which never happened before, then the following day I drove up the street not even 5 minutes away and my car over heated for 2 minutes and felt like I was about to break down it felt bad so at this point I drove it back to give them a second chance to fix what they broke. They charged an extra 500 dollars and said the water pump wasnt even broke the first time but somehow it was the second time when I bring it in. I felt very scammed because if it wasnt broke the first time and I barely drove my car at all in the two days I had it back, and leaving with the same problems, how did it suddenly just break? The timing is just to perfect for it not to be their fault. WHEN YOU GO TO A CAR SHOP AND SPEND 800 YOU EXPECT YOUR CAR TO BE WORKING, NOT RUNNING WORSE AND HAVE TO BE CHARGED AN EXTRA 500 TO FIX IT RIGHT. The manager said they would refund the 500 last night, then turned around this morning and changed his mind and wouldnt refund the money back. I felt that was fair to pay the 800 for the first time, but again having to be back two days after I picked my car up with more problems since the moment I picked it up it wasnt fair to pay the extra 500 dollars to be fixed proper. Needed a tire plug for nail hole on almost new tires. Tech said they would fix it. Manager then said they wouldn't plug it because it wasn't in the middle of the tire. ( it was 1/3 from the sidewall) and that we needed 4 new tires. This guys a douchbag. Avoid this place so we can get rid of scammers like this. They were polite and had my car done in about an hour. they put some dye in the oil to locate a leak and I was to come in about a week later. A couple of days after my oil change I drove the car to St Petersburgh to my parent.This is the first time I had the car on the highway and after about ten miles the oil light came on and I pulled over and checked my oil. I had too much oil and I had tio drain a quart out of the car and the oil light still comes on probably from the oil that may have gotten up in my lifters. I mentioned it when I called for my follow up appointment and they never took ownership for the mistake and said my oil light shouldn't be coming on because there is the right amount of oil in the crankcase. Never once did they admit that they put too much oil in my car. I will never take my car there again. I always thought it was dumb when other garages would show me my dipstick with the right amount of oil in m y car but from now on I will insist on seeing the dipstick except I won't have it done at Tire Kingdom on 5703 Manatee Ave in Bradenton Florida! read more

Printed a tire quote for 2 Falken 65k mile tires on 6/19/2015. Installed price 225.94. Quote was to be good for 30 days. Went to store on 6/22/15 to set up an appt. to purchase. Told tire not available but had a similar tire for $ 240 installed but tire not similar. Only 50k and more expensive. So much for 30 day quote -- not even good for 3 days.
