Was really pleased with my experience at Honest1. I went in for an oil change, tire rotation, and an inspection. The total was about $140. Additionally, they drove me to work while my vehicle was being serviced. I thought I might need an alignment as well, but Joe was great about asking me questions to see if I actually needed one. He ended up telling me he didn't think I needed one, which I thought was incredibly honest since it would have cost about $130. The inspection results showed that I needed a number of other items done, however, I was never pressured into getting the work. Simply informed and quoted a price. This place couldn't be less honest, first they send us a "complete inspection " that says it's not complete. Then the lies made in the inspection report at the office were crazy, "oil all over the engine and transmission" we took it to another place and they said 90% that it was all lies. This visit had it's ups and downs. I brought my wife's 2015 Cadillac SRX for a/c repair. It was diagnosed as bad compressor and expansion valve. Left the vehicle there for repairs late in the afternoon, (this was Friday night) I was told that they would have the parts in 1st thiing Monday morning as should be done by 5:00pm, I called mid afternoon and spoke with Joe, he informed me it would not be down, my Irish temper started to Joe how and what I thought, my wife, interrupted and took over the call. She and Joe came up with a solution and that Tuesday afternoon would be done. I was at work, and Joe arranged to have someone pick my wife up to get her car. This was accomplished early Tuesday evening. The kind enough to give us a $200.00 credit for the. Inconvenience. I got up Wednesday morning walked out to the garage and the taillights were on. I tried to start the car and would not start, couldn't get the lights off, my wife again called and spoke to Joe, within an hour they had 2 technicians out to the house, they eventually had to have the car towed back to the shop. They have just called my wife and they are delivering her car to us, as I type this. Bottom line is, it was a code error , which they fixed, Not only did they step up, they also put a new battery in her car. I have to apologize to Joe for being a jerk, and thank him and the shop, for a job well done. Thank you Joe and the Honest 1 techs for a job well done. We recommend them. I left a negative review for this company quite some time ago. Somebody named Brianne M called me an idiot(via Yelp) in response. Underneath my comment was a response from the owner claiming that the reason my estimate was so high was because it involved a lot of other stuff like fluid, belts, and hoses. First off, I called them on the phone and told them exactly what I needed. I did not ask for an estimate for anything else other than one item specifically. I hope the service has improved over there. I'm not the type of person to try and hurt anybody's livelihood intentionally unless they straight up lie to me. I was lied to and they tried to take advantage of me. That was my experience and that's why the reviews bad. I'm not saying that they are evil or bad people. I just have a problem with them trying to inflate my bill. I would've kept going back for everything for all of my vehicles. They could've had my business for the rest of my life if they had just been honest and not try to pad my bill with a bunch of nonsense that I did not need or ask for. read more

Be wary of this place. I got my tires replaced just a year and a half ago and spend $900 - the most I ever had on 15 inch tires. Now the inner shoulders are really bad after a recent oil change and rotation and the place I got my oil change done said basically the tires need to be replaced. Never in my life have I spent so much on tires just to last a year and a half. I've put maybe 15,000 miles on them. So I called Honest1 who happily sold me the $900 tires and was told I'm SOL bc it's not covered under warranty. Any place that calls themselves 'honest' I would think twice this place is scammy. Maybe ok for a basic oil change but I would just get my services done somewhere else they were always trying to say I need a million things done too. read more

When I called and told the staff what was going on, they asked multiple questions to understand what I needed help with before I brought my car in. The lounge is super nice and you can see the mechanics working on your car through the open glass wall. Took car in for an oil change and to find why "coolant level low" light was on. They determined $2000 in repairs were required. We declined services, but were still charged $325. They stated that we signed an agreement allowing them to charge UP TO $325 without consent. Hopefully action with BBB will save other from similar. What a disappointment. read more

Honest is far from what this company and location are. I scheduled an appointment to have my windshield washer nozzles replaced and was quoted around 75$ for parts and labor 1 week prior to showing up I scheduled the drop off for 10 am on 7/27/21 and made the appointment on 7/20/21. I arrive and they say it'll be a little while and I say thats fine Ill wait. I go for a walk and when I return after 90 minutes I am told that I will need to pay the $70+ diagnostic fee and that the parts arent in and will need to be ordered at $60 per nozzle! The total for what I needed done would have been around $220. 120$ alone for sprayer nozzles is price gouging. I walked away without having any work done. I walked into the local Jeep/Dodge dealership, paid $20 for 2 nozzles with no discounts and fixed the issue myself. I also witnessed one of the counter ladies attempt to convince an old lady in a new vehicle that she MUST purchase their fuel treatment service for 260$. The woman looked at me and I shook my head no. Item markups of 300% and unnecessary charges, fees, and services will have me avoiding this establishment going forward. Honestly... they will fleece you! They will charge you the maximum fee for diagnostics on what should be warranty work. Charged us $155 to check warranty work on what they had already done, they replaced the compressor earlier and now they said it's the condenser and they would replace it for $1200. What upsets me the most is they probably take advantage of a lot of elderly people in this area, shame! I'll be calling the BBB. read more

BUT, I found an amazing repair shop. Joe and Kristy were great, offering excellent customer service. They tested my truck, over 5 hours but only charged me the diagnostic fee. They found no issues and stated if I brought it back with the same issue, they would not charge me another diagnostic fee. They had the option to create a story, get me to pay for something that was unnecessary. Instead, they were honest, informing me that everything was up to code. Please note that I brought my dissatisfaction with the service at Honest 1 to their attention in a face to face conversation. They took no responsibility for their deceptive & poor service. Our family has had several cars worked on at Honest 1 since 2019 & we've always been satisfied. Our most recent visit for rear brakes was a different story. At drop off my daughter felt she was not treated well so I told her I'd speak to them when the call came in with the diagnosis & price. She was notified of a $25 charge just to look at the car, which they have never asked for or charged in the past when my husband or I dropped off a vehicle. She requested that the rear brakes be checked, Honest 1 just did the front brakes for us on this car a few months ago. Upon speaking with Honest 1 they recommended front & rear brake pads & rotors be replaced. When I told the gentleman I was speaking with that they just did the front brakes on that car he became flustered & asked to call me back. We were also texted the diagnosis. See screenshot. If the front brakes needed any work Honest 1 should be taking care of it, since we just paid over $800 to have them done. Obviously we were given incorrect information & Honest 1 was trying to get us to do repairs that were not needed. I wanted to write this review so others can avoid this issue. We took my daughters car to Volkswagon this morning to have the brakes checked & will do repairs at the dealer from now on. It's too bad, Honest 1's convenient location & good service kept us coming back for the past 4 years. With this experience they have lost a repeat customer. read more

Not too long ago I took my vehicle in to get the four wheels balanced and rotated. We left for Germany the day after so I really never got to test it out to see if the the vibration was gone. When we returned, a vibration was still present but felt different. Since the tires had been rotated, I felt as though I may have had a tire issue or a wheel weight had spun off in the short drive home. I returned to Honest1 and asked if they could rebalance the wheels to see if that was possible. (It was at this point I began to sense an attitude). And instead of rebalancing the tires, they test drove it and told me of all the other things it could be - but they would not admit to spinning a wheel weight off. A little while later I found the time to take it to another shop, paid another $75 and had the 4 wheels balanced. All were in balance...except one. They balanced it and problem was solved. Unfortunately for Honest1 Auto Care, they will not have me as a return customer. And to be honest, it really didn't have to do with the misdiagnosis. It had to do with their poor attitude and inability to be humble enough to just rebalance the tires. The problem would have been solved. read more

I took my truck to this location for brake repair and oil change. I declined the over absorbant price to do the work.and they didnt use the right oil type in my engine HONEST is one thing they are not.It appeared that a woman ran the joint with freshly graduated mechanics from MTC at best no expeirence. Left my truck in an unsafe condition i drove it in with rear brake cylinders leaking only had to add dot e fluid once in awhile got it back no fluid in the master cylinder brakes went to the floor and instead of adding or selling me some fluid they let me take it with no brakes, i took it to a ASE inspector he pulled the drums to ee why and the HONEST 1 mechanic left off the rubber cap on the brake cylinder (very unsafe no regard for my safety) i would not recommend this place to wash my cars let alone repair them.they earned this review. read more

I did not use their business so this rating is based on their horrible customer service. I just move to Lakewood Ranch from another state. One of my vehicle's battery died. I first called Honest1 since they are less than 1/2 a mile from my home. I had no jumper cables and inquired about the possibility of assistance since they were so close. They advised they had the battery but I would have to get the car to them. Ok so I bought jumper cables (since they said they had none that I could use so I can drive the car 1 minute to their shop). Battery was so dead it would not start. I went to Honest1 today to get the battery and install it myself to then drive car to them for anything else I needed done. There were 2 guys at the front. One of them looks up from his computer asks first "do you have an appointment " I said no and proceeded to tell him my story he was totally disinterested cuts me off, tells me NO we don't sell parts here and looks back at his computer and ignores me. The other guy looks at me and then at him like in disbelief that this jerk just treated me that way, asks me what kind of car it was (at this point in time what does it matter) so I just walked away. The only thing I regret was not asking for the manager or corporate or maybe lite into this rude moron. Even if my car broke down in their parking lot I will never go there. Maybe since I am a female he felt he could dismiss me the way he did. I will make sure that I relay this rudeness to my neighbors in the event they have an issue. read more

I had such high hopes for trying Honest1 out because good mechanics are hard to find. After dropping off my car at 7:30am, having breakfast next door with my family and coming back we had a long list of things needing work. I decided to have some, not all work completed and was given an hour and a half timeframe. Great, that's enough time to run some Saturday morning errands, drop my family home and have a friend give me a ride back to the shop. Only to find, 3 hours later after the initial appointment time, my car was still sitting off to the side without any of the agreed upon work even started. After discussing the issue, I was told they could get it done in an hour. Unfortunately I don't want to waste anymore of my family time waiting on a vehicle having minor work done. Then came in to give them another try for brakes. Told me needed all rotors and brakes on 2005 Chrysler 300, said this would cost around $1010?! So I took my 4 runner in because my A/C stopped working I just wanted that looked at , but they charge you 57 just too look at ok fine then was told I'd get a email with what they found within few hrs I had too call them too see what was going on and they finally sent diagnostic some of the the things I knew but they said my wipers need replaced which are only few months old! Saying torn ! I looked at them there fine! Now the one thing I needed repaired which was the fan blower and cabin filter, for over 800 , so I looked up the part and utubed it ! The part at the auto store was 94 and I did it my self literally took 15 min. And unplug few wires and screws and replace fan blower ! So not only we're they going too over charge for part but over charge for labor 800 come on maybe couple hundred I could see! We're the honesty in honest1 ? LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!!! The atmosphere is so welcoming and peaceful. There is a refreshment station that includes coffee, water, soda, and caprisuns. There were also some light snacks to munch on: goldfish and fruit snack gummies. They kept me updated with how much longer the work would take. They made sure to have me out before I had to head to work which was very much appreciated. Kristie, the service advisor, was super sweet and very helpful. She helped me decide on what absolutely needed to be taken care of today without making me feel like I had to fix more than necessary. I went there for an oil change, tire rotation, and a new tire since my old one couldn't be repaired. Tire got in the next day and I was in and out. First, I would like to start off by saying that Mike and Dave where super friendly and very helpful. I also feel for the amount of work that my car needed it was a great price. So, I have a 2008 Honda Accord. My check engine light come on and was flashing. I knew this meant I shouldn't drive the car as something was seriously wrong. I took it in and they did a complimentary diagnostic. I had a leak from my oil which in turn harmed quite a few things under the hood. I needed to have the ignition coil fixed, valve cover gaskets, belts and coil for the front and rear of the car. Both Solenoid covers, spark plugs and then normal maintenance. They also have a great credit option for those that may need it and if you have to get a loan for over a certain amount it is no interest for a year. Just make sure you pay it off before the year is over so you don't have to pay all of that interest at the end. Over all everything was amazing, I feel as if my car drives better than it ever has and we will definitely be back to use Honest1 Auto Care again.
