After reading the reviews I called Shepherds and they said to come right in. They found a razor blade stuck in the tread but the cause of the leak was a damaged needle in the tire stem. They replaced the needle and did not charge me for their work. I just wanted to thank them publicly for their curteous and friendly service. I will be returning in the future for my vehicle maintenance.

So they had to order a new one, but then charged me again for the installation and the disposal of the damaged tire they sold me initially. That's just horrible customer service, especially since we have gone to them several times. I understand that the manufacturer will only warranty the tire, but I shouldn't be charged again for the service. It's not my fault you sold me a damaged tire.

They 1st claimed that they test drove the car and couldn't hear anything. I went back for struts & shocks and again mentioned the noise tire. The guy said he rotated the tires - still there. Now the struts they mounted must have been the lowest quality possible as now I hear a continuous drumming sound. I should have known better than to give them more of my business.

When I inquired as to the cost I was told $2,000 not including balance/front end alignment!! The alignment would have been an additional $200!! So as you can imagine I was not about to part with my money before getting a 2nd quote! Once I returned home, I called Mavis and spoke with Charlie. I told him what I was needing and we talked for a few minutes and I said I'll come by and let you take a look. 20 minutes later I was there and Charlie who was a very nice chill guy took a look. After everything all said and done Mavis had an all in price of $1,114! Less than half of what BMW Quoted me! Now don't get me wrong. I love BMW and for certain things absolutely I would recommend going there. Seeing how my vehicle is paid for and not under warranty any longer there was no reason for me to pay those kinds of prices! I was very pleased with the service I received from Charlie at Mavis Tires and Breaks. I would definitely recommend this place!

I was originally told the service would take under an hour, so I planned to wait. However, when I arrived, I was informed it would be a couple of hours before they could get to my car. Fortunately, a friend was able to give me a ride home. The shop called when my oil change was done, which I appreciated, but they also mentioned that I needed two new tires and an air filter, quoting me $800. While my tires have some wear, they aren't in immediate need of replacement. I later checked pricing at Costco and found I could get comparable tires for $400 and an air filter for $12.99 at Walmart When I went to pick up my car, I noticed a few unexpected charges--including a fee for a half quart of oil, a shop fee, and tax-before they even applied the Groupon discount. It felt like the Groupon was more of a way to get customers in the door and then upsell additional services. While the oil change itself was fine, the overall experience left me feeling like transparency could be improved.

Buyer Beware This…read moreused to be an excellent little auto shop for minor repairs and maintenance but has since changed ownership, and inherited some shady business practices. As noted in several similar reviews, I paid to have numerous repairs & immediately needed urgent repairs. I paid for new breaks, pads, rotors, alignment and an oil change in May. The beginning of October, I also had 2 new tires put on my vehicle , at which time it immediately began making a loud vibrational thud when driving. It sounded like the tires weren't balanced even when driving on a straightaway so I bought it back. The manager Victor looked at it in less than 30 seconds and handed me an estimate for $980. He said I was due for an oil change ( which I just got , there less than 6 months prior) and that the noise was because I need new wheel bearings . He admitted they didn't align the tires or balance them when they installed the tires but stated that wouldn't cause them to wear down. I contacted the corporate office, because some of his statements were more than fishy. They said id need to get a second opinion and have it documented that the noise was due to poor alignment and balancing of the tires, and have it submitted to their office for review. They also added that it wasn't just the front wheel bearings, even though he handed me a written estimate stating such, but now it was both front and back. There are numerous reviews citing shoddy workmanship, and immediately after leaving having vehicles break down, catch fire, parts fall off , needing extensive work afterwards. Please don't fall victim to this type of scam. Save yourself some time and the headache of having to pay for much more serious repairs after bringing your car here .
