We came here early into the night and it wasn't too busy yet. The drinks and service was great. We got lucky to get a pool table to ourselves so I could attempt to learn, since I definitely don't belong anywhere near sports (pool included ha!). My husband and I stopped in for Happy Hour on my birthday. They had great specials, the drinks were quick and cold and the BOGO wings were big, hot and the best we have had. All the food came out quickly and was well prepared. I usually ask for extra crispy wings and forgot so I was nervous but they were cooked perfectly. Our server was friendly, respo sive and fun, keeping tje spirot light. The manager came by toale sure all well. I highly recommend this place and will be back for sure! read more

I feel like its my second home. I've met many great patrons there. The best part is the workers there. They make you feel at home, especially Ravon the bartender. She is very attentive and on the spot with my drink at the bar. The rest of the staff is great as well. The beer is always cold and the food is the best. There is always music and live bands. I love that place. The owner (BJ) is about to make it bigger inside. Can't wait to see how it comes out. I have been visiting Harlingen the last couple months for work and wanted to see the bar scene here. I stopped in at Tipsy Tavern and the place is deceptively large inside. From the outside it looks small. They have a bunch of seats along the bar and plenty of table seating around the space. They have two pool tables. Music playing while I was there was generally rock and country. Not bad at all... There were several good looking ladies in the bar, especially the short brunette server, wow, what a knockout. They also have a pretty big menu of bar food which was great because I also needed to eat. They have a LOT of beer on tap. The bartenders service was pretty bad though. He was very inattentive even as you sit there staring at him hoping he will notice you, he wasn't that busy. Maybe service is better at the tables. If I'm back I would like to stop in here on a weekend night to see how its poppin' read more

Disappointed Yet Again at the TIPSY TAVERN in Harlingen ... . Why are these girls allowed to be on their phones while on the floor. They don't even try to hide ..... Also if you're a Bartender Don't project your shitty attitude on to guests‍. Service with a a smile (Even if its a fake smile i dont care), but definitely dont roll your eyes at me because i ask what the drink specials are the second i walk in. Know what you're selling, have a little pride in tour work. I'm not the reason you seem to be having a bad day (well, until I don't tip due to your attitude). If someone orders food, Check up on them and make sure things are satisfactory (at least Once‍) .... Also , you're at work, act like it. Dont go and sit at the bar and carry conversations while you have guests at the bar with an empty glass, that you're supposed to to be tending to ‍... Oh and I'm really easy to please , normally Over tip and I don't normally complain about Anything, but dang ‍‍, Its always like that there.... Never Again to this place. Been here a few time one time was for a spicy chicken wing challenge ( very hot, did not win but glad I joined). Very good wings. The next time I went was for a free seafood boil very tasty and ordered a side a wings and again one of the best I've tasted juicy, crispy, and saucy. The environment is very welcoming for around college age crowd. Only down side is that is it very small and can be difficult to go in and out. read more

This place was f****** amazing, I REALLY enjoyed my visit. I'm visiting from Florida and staying in Harlingen with my brother. The place wasn't at all what I was expecting, they far exceeded all my expectations. Has a Bar/ Club vibe, with great people and a great atmosphere. All the waitresses are beautiful, security and all other employees are nice. Drinks and food were good, and there's nice and experienced pool players that make things fun. Had plenty of drinks, great wings, and was allowed to let out my competitive spirit out on the pool tables. Our server was Chassidy, I highly recommend for anyone whether it's local or visiting from out of state. Btw DJ was 10/10!!! I have high expectations for DJ's being where I'm from, he was amazing and applying pressure all night. read more

Liked the fact that they tore down the wall that Medusa's had, to open up the space. Lots of tables, 4 pool tables & couches near by. Loved that they had some old school video games, I'll need to play them next time. Didn't try the menu, so again added to the next time list. Lots of diverse beers on tap. Only gave it 3 stars, was debating on possibly 2, because of the 2 year old that was there. A couple decided to bring their 2 year old to the bar and let him run around. He was leaving the table & would walk to the front door. One of the staff even gave him a high five! His presence made me uncomfortable. I kept my eye on him to make sure he didn't go outside, though the father did seem to make sure he didn't There is even a sign outside stating, "No one under 21 allowed after 3pm." Not sure how legal it is for someone to bring a 2 year child into a bar, but regardless no one should do so. I could understand if it were Chili's, Applebees, or Buffalo Wild Wings, family friendly establishments, but this is a tavern & there should be no children present. I hope the manager & staff make sure this is not standard. Overall, it was a relaxing atmosphere for after work. Lots of TV's around tuned to sports. Worst service I've ever had in my life. The waitresses were rude, rolled their eyes when we asked for drinks and then told us to just get up and go to the bar. So we did. Just to get ignored while they catered to people you could tell were their friends. There were men in the women's restroom, it was dirty and the only nice thing I can say is there was soap and paper towels in the bathroom. Stepped out at the end of the night and the door man would not let me and my friend back in to get my stuff. Got into an argument where he started yelling at me and calling me names. (Perra, pendeja, culera and he called my boyfriend fat boy) the most unprofessional group of people I've ever encountered. And I drove all the from Mcallen. If I could give negative stars I would. 2:20 on a Saturday afternoon, I walked in with a friend ready to have lunch and a few beers. The one employee was still doing opening prep work and I couldn't get the bartender to stop opening work long enough to serve us a couple of beers. Some girl had a dog in there(not a service animal) and I guess putting ice in a margarita machine that wasn't being used was more important than two paying customers. wish i could give this establishment 0 stars. i got threatened and harassed by the bartender "aaron" because we calmly questioned why we were getting charged for 3 extra shots we never took, "destiny" one of the servers lied and accused us of taking the shots that we saw her walk off with, i would recommend asking for a different server if you come across her unless you want her to lie and accuse you of taking shots that she more than likely took herself and added to your tab. i've never been so disappointed with customer service. the manager doesn't address complaints or make changes. they also harassed me on facebook for speaking out about the situation. extremely unprofessional! do not go here unless you want to be treated terribly, they only care to serve you if you're a friend and if they don't know you they'll act like you're not there. read more

AFTER GRADUATING FROM NURSING SCHOOL, my classmates and I decided to grab some celebratory drinks at tipsy tavern. We were literally IGNORED! We called our waitress countless times and she would take easily 10-15 mins after ordering a single beer at times!Whenever we would get tired of patiently waiting, I would try to get her attention--nothing. I made eye contact with her after raising my hand and still, nothing. We went to the bar instead of asking her, and the bar tenders (2) would not serve us because they did not have the tab with us. Ok fine, but really? They could of at least help her out by handing us the BOTTLES of beer that we ordered. They didn't even have to serve it. Oh, also, the bar was not even full! Legit one person was sitting at the bar. The place could've been easily handled by the three employees that we saw there. Completely awful service, I can't believe we wasted our celebration night in this trashy place. I can't remember the girls name but it was on a Monday night after 1100. Disappointing.
