Every time we come to South Padre we have to eat here. It is an oasis of delicious culinary mastery. The service is incredible. Plus it's incredibly quick as well. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict is light, with the hint of lemon that brightens it. The poached eggs are done to perfection. The chocolate croissant reminds me of my time in France. You could cry over it.

We made reservations so we didn't have to wait BUT we did have to wait for our waiter for a good 10 minutes. He was super swapped but very kind. Food was very good but a bit over priced in my opinion. I had the huevos ahogados and they had pretty good flavor. I also had a Bloody Mary and that was amazing!! It's a nice place to go once in a while not every weekend. Ambiance would have been great but too many people crowded the area to the point where you can't even enjoy the view.

Food: We started with the drinks. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and my husband had a chamomile tea. The tea was good quality and they bring you a honey popsicle to stir in if you like it sweet. The popsicle came in the shape of a honey bear. Adorable! The vanilla latte was not too strong and lightly sweetened. For entrees, we shared the pear salad, wagyu burger, and ham/cheese quiche. Although, we could have probably been fine with just the salad and one of the two main dishes. Everything was delicious. The salad was amazing. I can't believe I'm saying this, but they could ease up on the blue cheese a bit, although it tasted great. Wagyu was flavorful. The quiche looked great, my husband enjoyed it. Fries and breakfast potatoes were well cooked, well seasoned. Service: Great service! The server was attentive and patient. Ambiance: The locale is brightly lit and spacious. Although it seems like the best seats are toward the back overlooking the lake. We didn't have reservation, so we're relegated to the front of the restaurant. I loved that that there was a pop up jewelry shop set up near the hostess. Support local business! I feel like they focused on some great details to make a weekend brunch enjoyable. Definitely a place I recommend to go if you want to impress out of towners, gals brunch, or a nice brunch date.

This was our first time visiting after hearing good things from friends and family. It certainly lived up to the hype! Lola's is a super cute establishment situated on a resaca with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area has both patio seating and a covered deck area right on the water. We sat in the deck area and it was so cute! The food was quick to arrive and absolutely delicious. I got the biscuits & sausage gravy with an egg added on top and my boyfriend ordered the avocado toast. Both were super great, but we did prefer the biscuits & gravy a bit-- the sausage gravy is soooo flavorful and yummy! We also ordered drinks -- a Bellini (peach juice and champagne) and a Mimosa (orange juice and champagne). The service was EXCELLENT! Our waiter (can't remember his name right now but I'll be sure to update if I do) was INCREDIBLE! So kind, personable, and attentive. It started to rain heavily while we were there and he immediately came out to check on us and see if he could move the table for us or do anything to help. He also came out to us in the rain just to continue attending and seeing if we wanted refills or anything! Lola's is also being cautious and proactive to keep everyone safe in COVID. Overall, we absolutely loved Lola's and plan to be back soon. I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for brunch. They seated us almost immediately, which was nice. We were seated very near the front of the restaurant, so we did not get to see what the rest of it looked like. We began by ordering some mimosas. I ordered the pineapple mimosa and my boyfriend ordered the peach mimosa. After some time, we ordered our food. I ordered the quiche, but was told that they had run out. I ordered the veggie sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the wagyu burger. We still hadn't received our mimosas when we ordered, and we were told that the bar was backed up. Eventually we got them. They were good, but the peach mimosa was better. Our food then came out. The veggie sandwich was a 10/10. It tasted so clean and fresh. I would definitely order it again. My boyfriend said his burger was good, but I did not taste it. Overall, we decided we would be back. The food and drinks were good. I knocked a star off because the service could have been better.

Went to LoLa's for brunch on a Saturday. Not a good a idea. It was packed waited for over 45 minutes on a table. While I waited went to check other restaurants near the area downtown. Also was an hour wait and no parking stalls downtown near the restaurants. Back to Lola's they need a bigger establishment and more than one restroom for females and males. I had ordered avocado toast with poached eggs. Add-on of salmon. It was delicious. Drink was a mimosa not pleased with it. Do not know what brand of OJ they used but I didn't like it as much. The server I had was attentive and did well for being busy. My friend ordered Chilaquiles but the crispy chips got soggy quick. If anyone orders this plate. Eat it quickly. Some of the employees looked unorganized. I observed the Manager walking around making sure the plates were being served to the tables as soon as they came out. He did well trying to stay on top on supervision. I think they need to hire a shift leader for the wait staff to make sure food is being served hot as soon as it comes out. I didn't like the fact that the female worker that acted as a hostess began to take things away from my table like she wanted us to leave already after we were done eating. I do expect the waiter to pick up plates after we were done but this other person was looking at as like "get up you are done". She didn't even say a word to us as she was cleaning up our table while my friend and I were talking. I saw other people talking and taking their time to leave after they were done. Other than that, the food was delicious! Just get there early.

Visiting from Dallas. I was let down by the reviews. Perhaps they have a limited menu for Sunday's which I wish would have been mentioned somewhere in the reviews. I was expecting to be able to order risotto, herb crusted salmon, or crab cakes. The photos of these dishes made my mouth water. Sadly, those options were not on the menu. The place is small and in a cute spot. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the view. The restaurant did run out of avocados which I thought was odd. My husband had to change his order. I ordered the chilaquiles with lengua de res. It smelled good but as I started to dig into my meal I couldn't tell if I was eating chilaquiles or a bag of tostadas from the raspa stand across the street. I am willing to try this restaurant again before completely writing it off of places to enjoy a meal.

    Creme brûlée

Solid restaurant with really flavorful food. The crew was constantly cleaning the restaurant the entire time. The menu has good choices, not over or underwhelming. The rigatoni plate was very good. The sauce made that plate memorable. The creme brûlée was fantastic. The only knock I had on my visit was the price for a drink. $3 for a can of coke was steep. Other than that, fantastic vibe with very good food.

Service is on point. A good variety on the menu. I had the El Diablo and the spice was not over the top. Just enough.

Very friendly and polite server who made suggestions from the menu based on her knowledge of the foods offered. After we ordered our food it came to our table within reasonable time. They don't have a vegetarian menu but there are some things that you can order from the side dishes and a cauliflower appetizer. I ordered the roasted roots and vegetables side dish. My only disappointment with that was that half my plate was taken over by not so roasted onion. It was more of a mildly charred onion than a roasted one. I only ate two or three bites of it before deciding I had enough of that. The chimichurri and citrus cream served with this side dish were both yummy. Each one a nice balanced contrast to one another. My husband had the guisada. His dish presentation was nicely done. It's a hefty portioned dish too. He was satisfied with the flavor and said that he would order it again. The tea I had was very watered down and because the glass is rather small, I had to ask for multiple refills. A regular sized glass and less watered down tea would be nice. They seem to have a large bar selection and a good enough wine selection as well. We were celebrating a birthday and they provided a small, beautiful, tasty cake for the celebration. The ambiance was modern and tastefully done. The bathroom was clean. I'm gonna have to say that Ruben, the manager, went above and beyond. Good people skills. Great customer service. They definitely need to keep him and Estrella at this place. Congratulations Brownsville on this fantastic restaurant!
