Visited Capt Bob's this past weekend. Old, somewhat rundown place. Food was acceptible. We encounter what may be constructed as discrimination. When we asked our female latina waitress about where we pay, she motioned towards a counter where another young woman was waiting. However one table away from us were 4 latino men. Food over priced. Restaurant looks dirty , dusty and smells horrible. Needs to be cleaned. Also for being a restaurant there is no need to put your political preferences. Especially flying a Trump flag. That's a turn off as well. The waitress was nice. Owner is very rude and ill tempered. Like I said entering the restaurant the smell gets to you. I came here recently because I was told they had all you can eat on Tuesday and Thursdays, I went on a Thursday to find out they no longer have that deal since Covid. I still ate here and had the shrimp and oyster meal. I wasn't disappointed, the service is good, the ladies are friendly and you can BYOB. I'll be back! read more

For a lunch stop, the price point for what you get can't be beat! Four fish tacos with rice, salad and fries under $10, not to mention seafood broth and chips/salsa. If you don't speak any Spanish ordering may be a challenge and service was a little lax, but the meal itself would have been a great deal even at $5 more. read more

It's a decent seafood place. Unfortunately because of covid we were not able to actually go there and experience the atmosphere or staff and had to get it delivered. We had the crab hoagie, fish and shrimp plate, and fish soup with complimentary chips and salsa. The fish soup, fried shrimp and fish were the best, good flavors. The salsas, fries left something to be desired. Their rice tasted like someone got the packet out of a maruchan soup and used it to season the rice which I personally didn't mind. I wanted to put a review because I don't understand why this isn't at least a 4 star. I want to talk about the reviews and how one said that the people don't speak English. First of all you're in the valley what do you expect ? It's authentic and culture and maybe you should learn some Spanish. For the review that said over priced ?!? You just be really cheap if you think 10 dollar to maybe 14 dollars is expensive and you do get what you pay for plus the taste is great so you can take yourself to McDonalds if you want "cheap" food. Lastly, someone mentioned preferring red lobster ?!?! Red lobster is not fresh and if you actually enjoy red lobster than I know better than to trust your review. The food here is amazing and never disappoints! They give you chips and salsa which the salsa is always so yummy plus a little soup to start with and they might not speak English but they costumer service is great and the food is too so yeah if you haven't been pls go read more

Came in town for funeral and went for lunch at captain bob. Had the combo shrimp and oysters Was ok but I thought a little pricey. Shrimp were butterflied pretty thin to make look bigger. Oysters were on the small size. The cup of seafood soup had no seafood in it just broth but was tasty. Would have preferred to have gone out to Joes in port Isabel. Food sucks! They don't speak English. Orders over the phone and no one could understand what I was asking for! Tartar sauce and cocktail sauce outside room temperature not in the frig!
